The class is free for women to attend and only $10 for men who's like to attend. This gym offers all different kinds of classes for boxing, aikido, Muay Thai, and tai chi. The professors/senseis team up The first or second Saturday of the month to teach a self-defense class for women. The class is usually from 1 PM to 3 PM and consist of maneuvers and strikes. They are very informative and very patient when teaching. They don't mind going over the techniques over and over again until you are sure you get it right. You definitely feel like you were in a safe space with people who truly care about you, trying to teach you. They check in with the students to make sure that nobody is uncomfortable especially for those who have suffered an attack before. I can't say enough good things about this particular class. The only reason I have not signed up for one of their aikido classes is because the schedule doesn't work for me. You can follow them on Facebook to learn about their lady safe events, give it a shot and that will help you determine if you would like to continue coming to this gym for other classes.

I started Muay Thai a couple of months ago and the training is impeccable. Learning from the ground up I have learned so much in two months. As much as I have always wanted to learn martial arts, I have always had a love for weight lifting and this place is perfect for that as well with a free weight room and many powerlifting amenities!! The best of both worlds, a great place to sweat, work hard on yourself, and learn about the arts. This place feels super intimate and you start feeling welcomed and comfortable after a few weeks. It's like a 2nd home for me :)

It's not often I find someone who has the same passion for martial arts that I do; Coach Kakavitsas is an incredibly knowledgeable instructor who has years of real world experience in competition and practical self-defense techniques. My boys love training with him, and going to class is the highlight of their week. It's amazing how much they're already learned. I highly recommend anyone interested in learning self-defense, building confidence and getting physically fit go see him and his colleagues.

He took his time with her and had her gloved up in the ring within a matter of minutes after we did our paperwork. He demonstrated and walked her through the different hits/punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes. She had the most amazing time and cant wait to get started in classes with the other kids. She had the biggest smile on her face after she was done, and was so excited. I really appreciated JT showing her the confidence and new passion for muay thai! Hes a very knowledgeable man, personable, and incredible instructor/coach! We will be bringing our other daughter next Saturday for her one-on-one and very much anticipate a similar experience! Such an incredible experience from start to finish!

I've been here for a year now and feel so confident and strong. Also, I love all the instructors' laid back sense of humor combined with serious instruction. Love you guys!

Take this review how you want, just know that I have no reason to lie about this place. Johnny Buck…read more(main instructor/owner the way he explained it) makes fun of the mentally ill with a lot of maliciousness. 7 months into my BJJ journey and taking my training very seriously; I saw a student go up to Johnny and say (referring to one of the mentally Ill students who would train with us) "I was worried about hurting him" in which Johnny responded with "Oh no, they're really strong, they can handle a lot, and uh don't worry if you hurt em because they're not even human so..." Racism is prevalent here, don't be fooled by their kindness at first. Johnny used to call me mutt before I confronted him on that. There's plenty of cops that go to this gym so if the "leader" is encouraging making fun of mentally ill people and racism then you have a cycle that will continue throughout the community. This "gym" pushes a 12 month commitment for new members. They speak under their breath about you here if you don't submit to their culture or their way of thinking. It's almost like a cult in a way. The main reason why I wrote this review is because I felt it was my civic duty to let anybody who's innocently trying to learn self defense to protect others, are not taken advantage of like I was. My advice to new and potential future customers is to please stay away from that place but if you do want to check it out then I suggest you listen to your gut, stay true to who you are, and if you believe in God stay close to him because this guy and his ilk aren't good people. -Message to Johnny: What you teach is a perversion of what real humans naturally feel. Real humans have empathy. You don't.
