Johnny Buck…read more(main instructor/owner the way he explained it) makes fun of the mentally ill with a lot of maliciousness. 7 months into my BJJ journey and taking my training very seriously; I saw a student go up to Johnny and say (referring to one of the mentally Ill students who would train with us) "I was worried about hurting him" in which Johnny responded with "Oh no, they're really strong, they can handle a lot, and uh don't worry if you hurt em because they're not even human so..." Racism is prevalent here, don't be fooled by their kindness at first. Johnny used to call me mutt before I confronted him on that. There's plenty of cops that go to this gym so if the "leader" is encouraging making fun of mentally ill people and racism then you have a cycle that will continue throughout the community. This "gym" pushes a 12 month commitment for new members. They speak under their breath about you here if you don't submit to their culture or their way of thinking. It's almost like a cult in a way. The main reason why I wrote this review is because I felt it was my civic duty to let anybody who's innocently trying to learn self defense to protect others, are not taken advantage of like I was. My advice to new and potential future customers is to please stay away from that place but if you do want to check it out then I suggest you listen to your gut, stay true to who you are, and if you believe in God stay close to him because this guy and his ilk aren't good people. -Message to Johnny: What you teach is a perversion of what real humans naturally feel. It is a great, all over workout, which was exactly what I was looking for. You decide on how hard you want to work out. Plus, the range of the moves you learn work out most of your muscles. The instructor is very motivating and knows what he is doing. It is a fun class and over before you know it. The group is made up of different ages, men and women, and they are fun to work out with. The groups are small so you get your personal time with the instructor. He helps you perfect the moves and motivates you to keep going. I am not going to lie to you, it is a little more expensive than your 'run of the mill' gym membership but how many of those gyms make you pay 8 times more for a personal trainer? Yeah, I'm pretty sure all of them. You definitely get what you pay for here, probably even more!

The person up front is very helpful and makes sure you have everything you need. The teacher I had made sure to demonstrate each move before letting the class practice the move. Them we were partnered up with another person in that class and we did that whole bit a couple times before planking. There is a locker room with bathrooms and showers. They have a schedule for adults that shows all the classes they'll have Monday through Saturday. They also have classes for kids and overall it's a great place to learn. I only give 4 out of 5 because it's my first gym and while it was great, I have nothing to compare it to. I definitely recommend.
