When we tried Etta's Htx, it was being served on Sundays at Bar 5015 as a part of their brunch series. Where do I begin? The creamy shrimp and grits? The smooth mimosas? The delectable waffles with fruit topping? Or the smothered chicken with fried egg? Each dish offered so much flavor; they have truly mastered southern cuisine, at a reasonable price. Did I mention the trap music? Perfect for Sunday fun day. Not sure if they are still serving on Sundays, or just offering classes now, but, either way, they get a seal of approval from me!

The end result. Eating our decision homemade pasta dishes.

My kids set up this cooking class for me and the family for my birthday and all I could think was that I'm going to have to cook on my birthday, are you serious? Well surprise!! This was actually one of the best birthdays I've ever had. It was sooooo much fun, the food was delicious and I can't wait to go back! Make sure you add this to your bucket list. I promise you that you won't regret it.

Smoked Chili Ribeye and creamy oaxacan potatoes, the other with loaded papa fritas.

I had never made pasta from scratch before, and he explained everything clearly. It was super interactive and we had a lovely time! My favorite part was being part of the assembly line of chefs making a massively long sheet of pasta that we would then cut ravioli from. Really fun! I'm looking forward to keeping an eye on the Classpop site and taking another class soon. It's a great way of learning new recipes and cooking techniques, and then getting to eat what you've prepared at the end. Three cheers!

I contacted Classpop via their incompetent chat bot. The chat bot went and canceled the wrong class. I couldn't get it to understand the issue and both classes ended up canceled. They have a phone number but you are not able to reach a human during working hours. It tells you to leave a message and no one calls you back. They also have an after hours email to reach them but of course they don't reply to that email or the 4 other emails sent to their other email address. This entire experience has been awful. Now I had to contact my bank to get a refund. Please avoid anything associated with Classpop!

I absolutely loved this tour experience! I did the downtown tour for my birthday and I'm so happy I…read moredid. It was so much fun, we had a wide selection of foods, and the guide, Christine, was great. She was sweet, down to earth, and knowledgeable. It's definitely a good amount of food. I was so stuffed by the end I couldn't finish certain dishes. I really liked 6 out of 8 of the dishes which I think is a good proportion considering everything was a surprise. We went to 4 different restaurants. I think everyone's least favorite was the last dessert, but it was okay because we had so much yummy food before then. I highly recommend the tour! The walking was nice since we were eating so much. You also get a little history tour as you walk. It wasn't too much walking so I think it's suitable for older adults and kids (I heard some of the other locations are more walking so be sure to ask if you're concerned). It's a little pricier than some similar tours I found ($70/pp), but they were much more responsive and easier to plan with compared to other places.

The Saturday morning crowd was not out yet but soon would show up. We had a great table, middle of the restaurant and Caleb helped us out. He was very nice and took care of us. Ivory also came out and greeted us. We chatted a bit about how we liked the food. We got boudin balls with fries. The fries were amazing, just regular fries. The boudin balls needed a little work but Ivory was very receptive to feedback. Mimosas were good too. I had the cranberry, it came in a carafe. We finished 2 of them between the 3 of us throughout our meal. I ordered the shrimp and grits. Grits were excellent, shrimp was a little salty but if I mixed with the grits, worked out well. We had the endless catfish and amazed that it just kept coming. Also ordered a special priced wing and waffle dish that was 2 wings and a waffle, a little snack. By time we left, all tables were full. Make reservations is my best suggestion. I will go back. I enjoyed the food.

However the owner and staff were apologetic and quite welcoming. Once seated, service was pretty quick. My friend and I actually were a little indecisive about what to order- so many great choices. We opted on the all you can eat (can't believe that's an option) chicken and chicken & fish meal, which comes with a side of red beans and rice & greens. My word, those greens were delish- red beans, not so much. The chicken wss delicious, and the fried catfish was ok. Some pieces had that "muddy water" taste I'm not quite sure the cause when I try it a various restaurants. We also ordered the martini flight, which is a cute play on words because it comes with oxtail meat and rice, shrimp n grits and a Cosmo all served in glasses. They also have bottomless mimosas for $20. Note: Happy hour (at least on Saturdays) is really just for the food not the drinks. If you opt for cocktails those will run you about $17+ , so it kinda forces you to get the mimosas. Another note, they're made with Brut champagne and not sparkling wine for those who might have a preference. All in all, a really fun spot. The music was AMAZING and the chef is HILARIOUS. He'll have you laughing, and welcomes honest feedback. I'll definitely return when someone else is driving. Lol.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to see her in action, first-hand...until now and WOW! Our school was having a food truck themed summer camp, which is a very popular camp that sells out every year. The kids create their own food trucks, starting with learning the behind the scenes of starting a food truck, such as logo design, menu design, a shopping list and then they build their own truck and cook some samplers from their menus. We have real food trucks come out for the kids to see, but this year was even better because Chef Shelby came into our culinary kitchen and gave our students and teachers an experience that they will never forget. From the start, she was very communicative and full of ideas on how she could create this experience for the kids. We provided the space and she and her team took it from there and made the rest of the magic happen. She gave a lesson to the kids about kitchen safety and how to create a menu to kick off Food Truck Camp. Then, she came back later in the week and made flat bread pizzas from scratch by modeling each step and assisting the kids as they made their own. She and her team were punctual, organized and very professional! The teachers and kids had a blast! Let's not forget to mention that she still made this experience possible even with dealing with the after effects of Hurricane Beryl! Thank you so much, Comfort Craving Experience for spending time with us! We are so thankful and look forward to working with you again in the future!
