Finally went to Eucalyptus Trail after seeing it blow up on social media and wauuu I loved it so so much. It was so rewarding seeing the cows at the end of the trail :') The hike itself wasn't too bad -- really pretty views. We also came the day after the rain went away and the views were stunning -- snow on the san Gabriel mountains and the cutie cows. We came on a Saturday morning and the parking lot wasn't too packed. The hype died down a bit so when we came it was perfect. I'll be back soon :)

Such a pretty hike! We saw grassy rolling hills, mustard flower fields, cows, donkeys, horses. It took a little over an hour and only the first 10 min were hard with the steep incline but I had so much fun! Sunday was busy but not too busy and there were even info booth people on the trail guiding people if they got lost. OH and free parking. 10/10 experience

The Eucalyptus Loop Trail continues to be one of my local favorites! It's easy-to-moderate, with a few inclines here and there, and of course the cows and horses that make the 2.5 miles feel totally worth it! This time I brought a friend and two of my dogs (the trail is dog-friendly as long as they're leashed). We arrived about an hour and a half before sunset on a Thursday and started from the left side of the Community Center parking lot where the painted rocks are. The mile markers every 0.5 miles also help with letting you know how far you've come and how much is left. There were plenty of other hikers out too, like families, kids, fellow dog owners, etc. Golden hour made everything look extra pretty, like the green spring hills, open meadows, and even the sky. With some photo breaks, it took us about 1.5 hours to complete the hike, but you could easily finish in under an hour if you're not constantly stopping to admire the views lol. Next time, I think I'd start from the right side so the cows and horses show up earlier in the loop instead of being the "final reward" at the end haha

Came here and decided to walk and hike on this trails the scenery is very beautiful you and see cities when your on top and as you walking as well. You can see cow there as well and bring dogs with you as well. This is my first time here an it has very nice view.

The Eucalyptus trail starts right next to the chino hills community park off of Eucalyptus Ave and Peyton Dr. The parking lot doesn't open so early so you might have to park at the Chino Hills Community Center and walk over to the start. This trail is beautiful, with a little bit of incline. The hike itself is probably about 3 miles. Beautiful views, not stroller friendly.

Beautiful view. Trail is easy to moderate with some incline. A good 3 miles hike. Bring a hat , suncreen and wear a good pair of shoes, hiking shoes preferably. Ample amount of parking at the Chino Hills Community park. This trail is very popular, so it is very busy especially on weekends. You will see horses, cows and donkeys along your hike. But please be mindful. Admire them from a distance . Do not pet or feed them. Keep the trail clean for everybody to enjoy. Highly recommended .

What a beautiful hike. Parking was easy at the start of the trail. Plenty of it. 85 degrees in January lol can't complain. Dog friendly which is a plus. Pretty easy hike. Took less than 2 hours for the loop.

It was very pretty and easy to maneuver. My dog had a blast running around and frolicking in the grass. It was a little crowded when I went but that's because I went on a Saturday morning.

This is the best walking trail around. Scenery is beautiful. Great landscape, greenery, animals to see. There are a few challenging slopes but you can also stay on the street trail for a more flat walk. There are also restaurants nearby for breakfast before or lunch after. Lots of green space and dog-friendly. Please remember to pick up after your dogs and take your empty bottles and trash with you!

I really enjoyed this trail walk/hike. There are different routes 2.5miles and 3.5miles. It will take between 1-1.5 hour. We did the longer route. Some incline and decline for about a mile and the rest is flat. You'll always walk by all the farms...we saw horses and cows. It was fun!

This was a great light to moderate trail. There was a lot of things to see with a great view and animals to see along the way. I highly recommend this trail.

3.75 to 3.95 score, when compared to other parks and trails. Generally, if you start from north towards the hills, its easier to get around the loop, which ranges from 3.5 to 4 miles, depending on which trail you take. If you start from entry point head east and towards the community center - the run is all gradual up hill. 50% is paved and the rest is dirt trails with good to above average scenery. Located by a popular park, the area is busy, and there are many people on the trails. There are benches along the way, a short steep down hill or uphill depending on the starting point. Trails are clean, we'll labeled and based on the workout- from easy to moderate- but mostly an easy trail. Its a fast trail.for joggers walkers and runners. Pets allowed, and baggies for their poop are available. Negative? No bathrooms on the trails, didn't really see any animals that were close up and lack of true trail system . No real curves or extended challenges. But, positive, it is an active trail.

Ask the Community - Eucalyptus Trail Loop

In January will I run into snakes ? What month has highest sightings of snakes?

I've spent a lot of time on the trail and never seen a rattle snake. I have seen a harmless snake.

Can i take my baby in a stroller?

It can be uneven at times, mostly dirt, a stroller would be hard to push. I would recommend a backpack carrier depending on the age of your baby.

After only about a ten-minute hike, I was rewarded with incredible views of green rolling hills stretching toward snow-covered mountains in the distance. The contrast was stunning and felt more like something out of a painting than Orange County. What makes this park special is how quickly you can find yourself surrounded by open space and quiet. You don't need to be an experienced hiker to enjoy it. Even short walks can lead to beautiful scenery, wildlife sightings, and some fantastic photography opportunities. This visit will always be particularly meaningful to me because I brought my Golden Retriever, Christy, with me. Looking back, it ended up being her last adventure before mobility issues began limiting her ability to get out and explore. I'm grateful we were able to share a day like this together while she was still able to enjoy the trails, the fresh air, and the sunshine. For me, Chino Hills State Park isn't just a beautiful place to hike. It's a place tied to one of my favorite memories with a very good dog. I'll always be thankful for that.

The drive into the park and throughout can be a bit sketchy at parts because there are times when the road is so narrow, only one car can pass at a time. They have small turnouts, but it got interesting at some places. You also have to watch out for hikers that are parking down the road and walking into the park to avoid the entrance fee. The ranger at the entrance was very friendly and helpful. He handled the exchange for the $10 entrance fee. You can pay online with their QR Code, but I didn't have service, and they also charge you an additional $0.55 service fee for that service. There are restrooms right at the entrance. The facilities are well-kept and stocked, which we all appreciated. We parked near the Rolling M Ranch Campground. Looks like a decent camping area. They don't allow campfires though. There were campsites available. We started out hiking Ranger Ridge Trail, then swung down to Raptor Ridge Trail. Whew! My quads and calves were BURNING! Those are some steep climbs there! These particular trails are also very narrow with a ton of overgrowth. I was glad I wore long-sleeves, but should have worn pants because the brush tore my legs up a bit. There's also a ton of foxtails and they kept getting stuck in the top of our shoes. Ouch! When we swung back down to Telegraph Canyon Trail, that was wide enough for us all to walk together and had nice spots of shade. That trail was well maintained. There are a ton of hiking trails here. I'd be willing to keep coming back to explore more!
