Really nice road trail! It is located on the way to Mount Baldy. Located in a great area, very clean, paved and they offer pay per use parking. But just be aware, they warn about bobcat sightings. Which I mean, well yeah it is their home too.

Beautiful hidden trail! Street parking on a first come first serve basis. This is a great trail for beginners because you can take a flat paved path or you can go upon the hills. Really good family environment and safe place to take your pets.

This is a nice trail ( paved & packed dirt ) to enjoy a walk, run or ride a bike. The trail is pet friendly ( please be responsible for your pet: clean up their waste and keep them on a leash ). There's always a good view of the mountains while using the trail. There's a restroom located at the Higginbotham Park. The park has play area for the kids. Enjoy the trail ...

Great parking! Nice trail! Only concern is people who take dogs need to clean after them. Most of them do but the ones that don't is ridiculous. The trail offers doggy bags to clean after your pet. Too many dog poops.

Beautiful snowy mountains on a lovely morning.

This trail is a great little trail to run/walk on. Perfect for animals. It runs along the backside of houses... which had a load of horses & even one house had a whole farm minus the cow (sheep, goat, ckns, etc.). I would love to bring Evan, my 3 year old. It's short enough for him to walk/ride along comfortably. People are totally friendly & you are busy saying hello & good mornings. There are a bunch of doggy poop bag stations... awesome!

Nice surrounding, to get away from the city. Love that certain areas you can smell the herbs and trees. Just don't like how a mountain lion can pop out of nowhere, snakes are out when it's hot. I'm not one that's risky to walk through this path. First and last time. Beautiful just not for me.

    The trail...

It's a 5 mile loop. Very good view of the lower valley. It's a good workout. Always bring water and bug repellent .... Enjoy the hike.

Beautiful, easy paved road for stroller, and fantastic park along its path for little ones. Pretty flat path. We even saw 3 deer!

Ask the Community - Thompson Creek Road Trail

Where is the parking? How do I get to Higginbotham park from there? Thank you

Is this close to the loop where is the entrance?

If you park at the lower parking lot for the loop, the trail is across the street to the west.

Review Highlights - Thompson Creek Road Trail

I love running this trail because it's relatively "easy" after having my butt kicked on the Claremont loop.

There's a little lake that has geeses, swans, fishes, & turtles. A lot of folks are picnicking. Some shaded areas. There was a street vendor roaming around. There's slight incline if you plan to do some walking but there is some paved paths where I did see folks walking around. There are poop along the path and also on the grass. This is wonderful park to have in the neighborhood. Wished I lived a bit closer and wished we came prepared with a picnic blanket. Tips: -Small parking lot. -Restroom available. -Basketball courts. -Small playground with 2 swings.

Very open to the community and lots of families and all ages are at this park. It's not a very big park in itself, maybe about 2 miles all around, but there are different trails you can walk to from this entrance. It's not a loud park, even with a lot of people there it seems. Very relaxing and enjoyable. There is limited parking in the parking lot, but you can also park on the curb. Just check out the street parking times. There are city parking times where you're not to park there, unless collecting parking tickets is your thing.

It was actually pretty tough if you follow the AllTrails trailhead hike because you start at the top, work your way around the loop then down onto the Thompson Creek Trail and back up the Sycamore Canyon steps. Who in the heck wants to go back up again to end your hike?! Not me! I'll tell you why... To back track... I parked at the top of Mountain in a residential area. I took the far left trailhead and hiked up a rocky slope. Absolutely the most beautiful views right away to see. I got to the top and started the loop. It's gorgeous! Nice wide pathways through a beautiful pasture of grass and trees. The sound of birds chirping away. This part of the hike was relatively peaceful and easy. Next comes the hike up to to the tower. Not too tough, but you can feel it in your legs. As you get to the top it's all down hill on a paved road and it's steep! By the time I got down to Thompson Creek Trail my legs were like jello. As I walked along Thompson Creek Trail which is peaceful and filled with people, I didbt realize what was in store for me next. All I knew was I went down down down and I had to go up up up again. As I turned into Sycamore Canyon trailhead I saw the stairs. I thought ok how hard can this be? It's dang hard when your legs are feeling like jello!! I had to take many a quick breaks to catch my breath and rest my weary legs. I didn't think I was going to make it back to my car. I thought they might have to airlift me out. But eventually I got to the top and enjoyed the city views and all the haze. Took a quick uncle rest on a bench and wandered back to my car. Let me tell you I am never starting at the top again! I mean really who does that? I'm paying the price this morning with extremely burning achy muscles. But was it worth it??? Without a frriggin doubt! Can't wait to give my legs some rest and do it all over again starting at the bottom!

I love this hiking trail. It is more secluded and peaceful…read more Very easy hike except the first part.
