Euclid is a neighborhood record shop within the Marigny. A highly eclectic shop that has a healthy dose of all music genres that spans over two floors. The first floor has CDs and albums spanning rock, r&b, electronic music, local Louisiana artists, reggae and some jazz. There are a number of memorabilia, art, books, magazines and t-shirts also available. Upstairs has a huge lot of jazz, folk, country, classical and discounted records. I've been collecting vinyl for well over 20 years at this point. I have deep and obscure tastes in electronic music. Very rarely do I go into a shop and gasp when I see a record. It happened multiple times in here. A lot of stuff I already own but was absolutely shocked to see in the wild. Lots of things I wanted to buy too but I'm not trying to transport vinyl through Texas in the spring to get back home. But this shop is A+ and deserved a review. Fair prices and absolutely top tier selection for those of you with deep and wide ranging tastes. This place was a gem! I was on my way to the pizza place next door from the park. I saw this place and couldn't resist going inside. I was so impressed with the racks and racks of records. Lots of New Orleans sounds which is great for crate diggers looking for something unique to the area or special. There were quite a few dj types in there and I loved the nostalgic 80's soul section. Was just in there, ready to buy some records. But as my friend and I were looking through the records, someone came up to me and my friend and said "whoever is doing this to the records, stop it". Apparently we weren't placing them back properly. There's a way to talk to customers and that's not it. My friend and I put everything in our hand BACK and walked out. I stopped in for my first time yesterday and I was completely blown away. I have been to most of the best record stores in the US and in Berlin, and this one is probably in the top 5 I've visited. Collection-wise it reminds me of Human Head in brooklyn, but the layout is smarter and overall a much nicer store. Great listening stations and decor and signage. This record store was recommended to me while visiting NOLA for the second time. However, I was looking at my receipt when I got to my hotel and realized they overcharged me for a record. It was priced at $19.99 so I thought I was getting a good deal on this used picture disc, but I was charged $24.99 for it. The disc even has a scuff on the edge. I am leaving to go back home tomorrow and it's not worth going back for the $5 difference but least to say I was not happy about it. They did have a nice collection of records and I found some rare Bowie ones, so I'll give them that. That's why the two stars instead of one. EDIT: I was able to contact them by Facebook later on and they they were actually nice and apologetic about it. They said something like they thought it wasn't in their inventory and thought it was new? Not sure if I understand the mistake since the price was on the album, but I'm just glad they were easy to correct it since I'm all the way back in Texas. I change my rating, but I'll now look closely at my receipt next time before heading out. read more

It's super eclectic, and there are records everywhere! They have tons of selection, and it seems that you could find just about anything in this shop. I didn't ask, but I bet if you live in the area and ask for something specific and they don't have it, they could get it for you. Even though I don't purchase records for myself I saw some stuff that even I almost wanted because it was so neat. Tucked into NOLA's Bywater neighborhood, Euclid is an unassuming little musical wonderland that will make you so glad that Yelp exists (at least that's how I found this place). I'm an equal opportunity vinyl shopper--I love everything from the crisp, new stuff to the $1 bin. Head here for both of those things and everything in between. You've got your rock vinyl, your jazz vinyl, your fun little collection of New Orleans brass band vinyl. The first floor has all of this and more--it's really an impressive collection, and then you realize there's a SECOND FLOOR. Get ready for boxes upon boxes of amazing 45s. My partner is a musician and just about lost his mind. So many great gems to uncover--you could truly be here all day long. Prices vary wildly here, but they all seem fair. We came home with and handful of awesome 45s for less than $20 (but could've spent WAY more if we weren't saving some for all the amazing food/cocktails NOLA has to offer). The staff was super knowledgeable and if you live in the area, I'm sure they could bring in a record for you if it's not something they already carry. First Off..... This place has done me the honor of ordering me Dirty Mind's by Prince on vinyl! Do you realize how epic that is! Prince original artwork with him in a black bikini. When that guy told me he could order me and will call me a tear of joy fell from my eye. I almost heard birds singing that someone would help complete my Prince love/stalking. Okay now the rest.... The store is freakin pink! How can I not love a pink store! It's easy to find and its pink and makes me happy to go inside. Its all neat and wonderful and very well organized and they have Billie Holiday!!! I just love this store and the staff was beyond awesome and sooo helpful. The rock section has used and new organized alphabetically and each letter has decades as well. I appreciated the 1980-2000 sections for college rock hunting! Lefty is at the counter. I missed going to Euclid Records on my last trip to NOLA, so I was pumped to finally be able to check it out. It's located in a really empty-looking part of town near the railroad tracks, which is off the beaten path, but by all means, don't let that stop you - this place is rad. There are two things that impressed me to death about this place - one is the selection of music. Holy cow, it is HUGE. They have just about every genre represented, and have great selections. Their jazz section alone was pretty enormous. There are two floors of records to explore, so give yourself some time! They also boast a crazy selection of 45s, most of them in boxes, shelved, and sorted by record label, with artist names on them as examples. So, if you are looking for a Stax artist, you would go look in the Stax box. Simple, but very effective. This is the second thing that impressed me about Euclid - the level of organization. These guys have it down to a T. Records are easy to browse, and artists are easy to find. I love that! They have listening stations on both floors, and they are cozy. The players they use are good quality, so you can hear the records as they're meant to be heard before you buy. The staff also has a sense of humor. I love the silly little things I saw on some of the artist name cards scattered throughout the bins. I have visited a few record shops in NOLA, and this one by far is my favorite. read more

This is a retro vinyl and local music record store of the likes that has nearly gone the way of the dinosaur. They have quite an extensive collection so you can take up a lot of time browsing around. Not a lot of music soundtrack stores of any kind left around most places these days with most everything having moved online so great thing NOLA moves at a different pace and lives in a different world than the rest of the world so we can still have a place like this. read more

I love shopping for vinyl in Nola - and this is by far the most impressive shop. It slightly outside of the Quarter in the Bywater, very doable by Uber, Lyft, or cab. You can spend hours in here. Was thrilled with the huge selection of disco and funk. The oddities section made me giddy. The country section was small but filled with all sorts of goodies, not the usual stock C&W records. I mentioned a certain punk record and was shown an impressive section of the genre I was asking about. Loved the fact the rock was organized by year. Made it very easy to shop. Listening stations...hey had plenty, unlike other record stores I visited in NOLA! Staff was super friendly and helpful. They even had suggestions for places to eat in the area and further shopping.
