It always cracks me up when he's working in my mouth and I thing 'gosh, he's got bad breath!' and then I realize its my breath that I smell!!!

My dental health has been in the hands of Dr. Brooks for several years now and I am a very happy client. I have a gum issue with a capped tooth and I can say it's in better health right now than it has been for years. My husband goes here as well as I wouldn't let him stay with a previous dentist that was all about their bottom line regardless of what is in the best interest of the patient. Although my experience was a couple years ago I wanted to drop my recommendation for this practice…read more I had a money hungry dentist in another state tell me I needed a crown on a tooth I never had a problem with and went ahead and trusted he knew what he was talking about and had it crowned. Worst decision. Fast forward I always get food stuck in between that and the tooth beside it since it's not smooth. So my new dentist here in MO has worked on the tooth beside it bunch due to cavities and messed up the crown adjacent then told me we needed to pull it. That ticked me off because here I am looking at pulling a tooth I have never had an issue with AND it's slowly killing the one next to it too. I said no I wanted a second opinion and he sent me here. I told the doc my story and he said he would do his best to save it even though he thought the tooth had less than a 50% chance of succeeding but I wanted to try. It was a long appointment and he had some challenges but I was comfortable throughout the procedure and 3 years later I still have my tooth. I don't have the same problems getting food stuck alongside the crown anymore either which has bought some time for the tooth next to it as well. If I ever have to have any more detailed work done in my mouth I expect to return to this practice in St Joe. They are a good one!

I thought it was time to quit driving 2 hours to my old dentist in Omaha. I was wrong. I had seen…read moremy previous dentist for 10 years and no issues in the previous 6 month check up. I went here and was told I needed extensive work, to the tune of thousands of dollars. I could even get the in office credit card if needed. I was shocked that my teeth had deteriorated so much. So much so that I contacted my trusted dentist and told him what was found. He couldn't believe it either and asked to have the x-rays sent to him. He saw nothing. Just a few teeth that he has said he is "keeping an eye on" for years. I have been back for several more check ups and still nothing. My advice would be to have a second opinion before beginning an expensive plan. I still would rather drive to my Omaha dentist for honest, friendly service.

Kinda got screwed over. I was told that I needed to pay a large portion of the bill up front…read more($140) and that it would be refunded back to me after they bill my insurance. This is just in case I provided them with bogus insurance information....which I did not. Well fast forward 3 months and I never got my refund and the FSA company that I used to pay the bill is rejecting it because they tell me that I was over charged and to contact the dentist office. Well now I can't get them to answer the phone to explain to me what's going on. Every time I call, the phone just rings and rings and then an automated voice asks me to enter my remote access code. No prompt to leave a message or anything. What the heck are they doing over there? Pretty sure I am never going back there again cause if they screwed me over once, they are just going to do it again. They either lied to me (which I'm thinking that they did) or they completely forgot all about me, which is just as bad. Shame on you Brownsberger!

I went there today to receive my first dental cleaning and establish myself as a patient. After…read moretaking multiple x-rays of my teeth, they established that I would need a deeper cleaning that would cost me $500. I told them that since I'm a student, I cannot afford that, and they refused to clean my teeth, as it was "not standard of care". However, I always was under the impression that standard of care was doing everything you could for a patient within their price range, even if it meant not doing your first recommendation, coming to a shared decision with the patient So now, I can no longer go see another dentist without having to get my x-rays done out-of-pocket, as they took my x-rays before they told me that they would not even clean my teeth today because I cannot pay $500. A complete scam of a dentist and I've never been somewhere where they wouldn't even clean my teeth because I can't afford a procedure.
