This is an excellent Greek food festival. It's outdoors and this weather we're having now makes it a must-do.
The Hubs and I went last night and ate the best food. We shared a Loukaniko (Greek sausage) sandwich, a gyro sandwich, Saganaki (fried cheese), grilled Ochtapodi (octopus - try it, it's REALLY good) and we each had a Galatobouriko (Greek custard wrapped in buttered layers of filo and covered with honey syrup) for dessert. Well, actually I had two of the Galatobourikos. I live for those things (I asked one of the people selling them if they would keep for a day or two if I bought some to take home. She said they would need to be refrigerated because of the custard filling and wouldn't stay crisp. That's why I didn't buy more to take home and ate another one while I was there.)
They have a food section at this 'fest' where there is a line for a sampler plate, but personally I think the best stuff is at the 'fun food' and 'taverna' area - gyros, souvlaki, saganaki, loukaniko, etc. - grilled stuff. In addition to bottles water and soft drinks, they sell beer and wine. Get the Greek beer ($5). It's bottled, COLD, and 4.7% (need I say more).
And no festival would be complete without music and dancing. It's a fun time and it's free to get in and to park.
