Wow! I had no idea these guys put on Broadway quality shows. I went to see Hairspray and it was as good a production as I've seen in New York. Casa Manana and I go way back. Well,sort of. As a child growing up in Dallas,I remember TV and radio ads routinely for Casa Manana Playhouse. After decades,I decided it was way passed time to check it out! Wow! Have I been missing out! I attended the showing of "Hairspray". I took a bunch of kiddos from an organization as a treat. Your organization went out of your way to be nasty and sexually inappropriate. It wasn't necessary and we left half way through. Casa used to be a family friendly place. Disappointing. read more

The location is centrally located and it offers great snacks and food and drinks while you're there and they added coolness of the way to layout is inside in the theater in the round. It's great. At least I should say used to be a site to behold... You can't see it as a theater in the round anymore because I forgot that they redid it and when they did, they took away the theater poo poo. What wonderful memories of growing up in Fort Worth and attending musicals at Casa Manana. As a child I was transported to far distant lands and fascinated how incredible it was to watch the set changes when Casa was a theater in the round. I can remember how I felt when the conductor gave the downbeat to the orchestra for the overture of the musical we'd be seeing. Casa has now morphed into some different with no stage in the round but a phenomenal performance venue that Fort Worth can be so proud of. The lobby area is so accommodating and the staff so friendly and helpful. My wife and I both had been wanting to see the stage production of Jersey Boys and Casa's production didn't fail to deliver on their promise of a high-energy nonstop experience. Our seats were perfect. In fact, there isn't a bad seat in the theater, they're all wonderful. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon, taking in a musical, and tapping our feet to the soundtrack of our generation. This was my first visit to Casa Mañana. We went to see the comedy group 4 Day weekend. We've seen them before at their previous location downtown Fort Worth. This location is not nearly as good. The stage is extremely small, so keep this in mind when deciding if you want to see an act here. Also, the seating left a little to be desired. Again, I'm sure it depends on what you're seeing, but if you expect to be turned towards the stage for an extended amount of time you do not want to sit in one of the booths. You'll have to spend the time with your head, turned to see the stage. I know they have several stages in rooms, so take this review with a grain of salt because you could be in an entirely different room. That is much different. read more

Wow! We are so excited we discovered Casa Mañana's Cabaret! We went to see Night at the Apollo with some friends who had gone to see a previous show. They too are thrilled with this little gem! Get there early so you can enjoy the cocktail area. It is darkly lit and has an elegant feel. I dressed to match the Apollo vibe. Had it been Western, I'd dress with that vibe, but that's just me. No matter the dress we were a small crowd that enjoyed the experience together. It was super fun! The performers even walked around the crowd. They were OUTSTANDING! It was great getting an up close view in this cozy venue. When at the table we had reserved we ordered their charcuterie board and cheesecake. It was enough for the four of us to share. We enjoyed every bit of it! There was ample free parking, the service was good, and the restrooms were clean. This would be a great place to take out of town guests! read more

This was our third show. We just love this place. Staff is very nice. On this trip I booked our tickets for Saturday but when we arrived we noticed I booked Friday. Will call staff changed our tickets and even moved us to better seats. I love that you can get a beverage (alcoholic or no) and a snack to take in with you while you enjoy the show. All seats are great. The shows are always fun. The bathrooms are clean and big. I feel like 50 people could all be in there at once and it wouldn't feel crowded. Getting out of the parking lot is a chore but the parking is free unless you Valet. So much fun and they have a variety of shows for adults and children. read more

Ordered a baileys Irish cream coffee and they literally just handed me a coffee cup with less then half a shot of baileys and told me to go fill it with cheap coffee. Kind of ridiculous for $10. I understand the theater is expensive and I don't mind giving donations but this was just stealing $10. It's still cool inside, the productions and performances are top-quality, but parking is a pain. I've been attending Casa Manana's children's theater series for the past several months. So, this review pertains entirely to that perspective on this local Fort Worth mainstay. I saw A Chorus Line here more years ago than I care to admit, but haven't been back until someone gave us a set of season tickets to Casa's children's theater series. We've seen Mr. Popper's Penguins, a Christmas Show (which was surprisingly entertaining for kids theater) and most recently Disney's Beauty And The Beast, which was FANTASTIC. I've seen the actor who played Belle in other local productions back when she was in high school and she OWNED the role. Getting in and out of the theater is eased by ample helpful ushers and, on our case, pre-bought tickets. Parking is limited, requiring us to walk our 7 y/o across University, which is a bit intense and vulnerable to weather. But, overall I have great things to say about Casa Manana. The theater has earned respect and a strong rep over the years. read more

I'm a huge fan of theater and love this one. They end up with some really good shows (Elvira, Rent) and it's a small theater so you can really get close to the performers. Plus tickets are reasonable unlike Bass or ATT or Dallas Summer Musicals. We had great seats to see Evita for $49. Deal. The parking is a bit of a challenge but that's easy. Just park at a museum or somewhere on the street. The actors are super talented. I think they get a couple of named stars from Broadway to the leads. They may not have been the star on Broadway per se but they're crazy talented and really take the show up a notch. The rest of the show is fill with locals so that's fun, too. They don't always have the best schedule (ie they won't get Hamilton for 10 years) but it's solid and the performances are great. Accessibility for the kids was great but mostly I enjoyed a great show at a good price that's easy to find. read more

The cheapest seats are pretty good and comfortable. We saw the Oliver Twist show. It lasted 1 hour 20 mins. The show was great, moved fast and a great value$. Id been there years ago and forgot why we don't go more often. We will when another show of interest comes onto town. Ordinarily I love Casa. We grew up together and I have many good memories of shows I attended and a few I played in. That's why writing this review is painful. If you are disabled, or planning to visit Casa Manana with a disabled person, please don't. Stay home. Parking is inadequate and Casa knows this. The ticket office told my mother to arrive an hour early to get a handicapped space. We did and spaces were already taken. We parked in front, and there is no ramp access other than what is accessible from the handicapped spaces where we couldn't park. Mom had to manage the stairs with her walker. But wait for it, it gets worse. When we entered the theater, we were told she could not take her walker with her. The usher took it away and sent her up a flight of stairs. What the what? I am sure a past incident has required Casa to enforce this policy; maybe a gray haired patron became unruly with a walker, and for safety and security measures this policy was needed. But common sense needs to prevail. Nothing good ever comes from taking walkers away from little old ladies. My mother at 84 cannot walk or use the internet, which is why she called the ticket office to purchase tickets, and, after telling Casa about her disability, Casa sold her three seats in an area that required her to manage stairs without the use of her walker. And here's the really bad part: Take a look at the photo to see our view of what I'm guessing was a really good performance of Annie. Side note to anyone, able bodied or not, DO NOT BUY SEATS IN SECTION 7, ROW M, SEATS 9, 10, 11. And shame on you, Casa, for selling them. My poor mother paid $49 each for three of these. Final note to Casa: Please don't reply to this review unless it's to acknowledge accessibility issues. Anything short of that will be stupid. I'll even write it for you: "Dear Lee Ann, we regret your recent experience was not what you had hoped. Please know that Casa takes the safety of its patrons very seriously and is doing everything we can to ensure the best experience for all. We hope you will visit us again soon and we look forward to serving you to the best of our ability." See how lame that sounds? And to your board of directors or whoever manages legal responsibilities for your organization: Check your indemnity clauses for liability coverages should someone (under the current practices) face plant in the nose bleed section. read more

We have been season ticket holders for many years. Our grand kids are growing up with an appreciation of theater from attending the children theater at Casa The productions are always very professional and have great timing as to keep the little ones engaged. We have needed to changed dates in the past with our tickets and the office staff has always been extremely helpful. We are very thankful we have such a wonderful venue so close by. We have found getting to the performance about 15 early allows for a good parking spot (as the lot is for Casa only) time for a rest room break and getting in our seats. Intermission is just the right length. One little secret is one is able to exit the parking from the back, avoiding the bottle neck in the front. read more

I like this theater. It wasn't as big as I thought it would be. It's small, but cozy. You could sit all the way in the back and still see the stage pretty well. It wasn't overly crowded and overwhelming with tons of people. I would like to go back except, the seats are small and uncomfortable, (and I'm a small person). I felt like I was in a sardine can. The seating is very confined, and the seats are closer together than seats in a movie theater. I would have enjoyed the play more if I didn't have to worry about constantly bumping the person next to me. I would suggest getting to the show early if you want convenient, free parking. Their parking lot is pretty small. Overall, cute theater just a little too uncomfortable seats. Next time I see a play I'll probably go to a different theater. read more

My almost 4 year old son and I loved our trip to Casa Mañana. The Three Little Pigs was his first play and our first time to Casa Mañana. I was a little nervous I'd have to go searching for a parking spot, as I'd read their lot is small, but we were fortunate to get one of the last available spots. BINGO! Going early would have been advisable, but things don't always go as planned... We both loved the play. Our favorite character was the Big Bad Wolf. He brought a lot of dimension to the cast and also meant I got to snuggle my little man whenever the wolf came on stage. He was slightly intimidating to the some of littlest ones, but also did a great job making the audience laugh. We sat in section 7, near the back of the auditorium. We were able to see and hear everything clearly. The rows don't offer much in leg room for those who are taller- than-average and you should expect to stand up if anyone in your row needs to get out. No problem here, think of it as a way to make friends. Ha ha! It was such a fun experience and I'd highly recommend the play to other parents. We'd like to make an appearance at their upcoming play, Seussical Jr., which plays from April15- May 8. Check both plays out! read more

After leaving Casa Manana all I could think was, how did I not know about this place sooner? What a fun experience! We visited the theater on a Saturday matinee showing of the 3 Little Pigs. We brought our 5 year old daughter, it was her first "real" play. She absolutely loved every second of it. The theater is awesome - spacious, with a lobby serving drinks and snacks (alcohol for the adults) and easy navigation to your seats. Walking around, looking at the theater's history it was cool to see some of the marquee names that had once performed at the theater. Inside the dome shaped venue, you'll look up to see "a tin foil" ceiling that I'm sure benefits the acoustics in the place. The stage was a good size, audio was excellent. The play itself was super fun. Taking the classic story and sort of turning it on its side. The music was toe tapping, the actors were having so much fun (especially that big bad wolf) and the entire event lasted about 100 minutes (that included a 20 minute intermission). We paid $16 per ticket and had excellent seats up front stage left. It was a steal after watching my daughter, who already at 5 years old has a flair for the dramatic, light up with every scene. The exchange with the Wolf after intermission was fun, and my daughter was one of the lucky ones to interact with the character. Casa Manana offers season tickets, and it looks like they put on several kids events over the course of that season. There are also adult plays, which my wife and I thought could be something fun to do on a date night. Huge fan, we will be back! read more

Great job Casa! My daughter loved frosty the snowman. The staff serving drinks & snacks were outstandingly friendly. She loved that the cast came out to say hello & sign playbills at the end of the play. She was a lucky kiddo to get the last of the Santa tickets for the show as well so that was awesome. I really don't think there is a bad seat in the house with how it's set up and lack of "blockers" in the round house type theme set up they have. The only negatives were one that we had someone with sinus stuffing perfume by us; not their doing of couse; it can be hard to maneuver between seats if tall people are near by for my wide bum; but not the worst by far! The gift sales were friendly but also quick talking; but it was informative to make sure you were aware how much you are spending but at one point i almost didn't get something thinking my total was the price of one item. Anyway I'm looking forward to going back and am really hoping that my daughters class this year does casa for their spring trip this year like they did with the kids last year so we can go again with her friends! read more

Have only been here once and had a good experience. Not wowed but nice given its a not-for-profit. Just wish iparking was better. If your familiar with area, pretty crowded. But it's not their fault as much as it is the location and traffic. It is an interesting playhouse and the show, Steel Magnolias, was well done. I think I am a bit partial to the movie so found myself continuously comparing the performers to their famous counterparts.. but over all good performance. I especially enjoyed the cast when the talked to the audience afards. The venue is large enough I believe you could sit anywhere and any seats would be good seats. Everything was well stocked and lines moved quick'ish. I would definitely go again. Enjoy! read more

What a sweet day to take my mini man to a place I hadn't been to in about 20 years!! I LOVE theatre and when I was introduced to it through the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe at Casa when I was in grade school it was also needed to solidify my love of the arts. Flash forward and I'm taking my son to see Three Little Pigs and it was so much fun. I will say I was worried but Casa makes it easy by having an age scale online with their shows and the show itself was about an hour with a 20 minute intermission so all the littles could get those wiggles out. Acoustics were great! We understood everything, and honestly I don't think there is a bad seat in the house at all. We were in section 7 and it was perfect. The play itself was so cute and fun especially for little ones. The interaction and songs were just right! We are def going to check out Suessical Jr when it opens up in April! PS- not just for kids, they had an amazing line up on the way for a fun date with your boo thang! So switch gears and get your booty on down to Casa! I'm sure you will love it just as much as we did!!! read more

The Buddy Holly Story was fantastic! The actors & actresses did a great job with the music. I would have given it a 5 star rating, if the language had not included so much cussing, especially blasphemy. That is unacceptable, The show did not require this type of language. Very sad read more

This is the first time I have been to this place and it was not all bad. My wife and I were there to see Sweeney Todd and we were invited by American Airlines to a pre-show reception in the lobby for free drinks and some eats. It is a nice small place and the people that worked there are really nice. It was easy to get to off the highway. I noticed that they only had half the seating area open. The stage was cut in half, probably because they did not expect that many people there for the 2pm show on a Sunday. The seating area was comfortable and spacious. It seemed that every seat had a great view of the stage. The sound system was good but not great. Overall it was a nice experience and would go back. read more

Last Tuesday I treated my parents to Miss Saigon in celebration of my mom's birthday. The production itself was rather good, though the sound was a bit too... shrill? to really hear / understand what they were singing. I get the impression that the facility isn't really all that great for acoustics. My big issue is perhaps a bit silly, but nonetheless, I feel compelled to mention it. The restrooms are only on one side, the far side. Way down past the bar and gift shop counters. The bar and gift shop fill up very fast before the show and especially at intermission, thereby making it quite the trek to get to the restroom. I had gotten out quite early, and thought it was just the line for the ladies room. I stepped outside instead, opting to return towards the end of intermission. That was worse, as the bar line was double the length, making it impossible to go around. I had to "excuse me" my way through the line, where people, though acknowledging my presence, made only a minor effort to let me pass. I quite literally had to push through, feeling rude the whole way, but what else could I do? Turns out there are like 30 stalls in the ladies room and no line at all. It's just the mass of people out in the lobby that don't want to move. Not a good setup in the least. OH, and the latches on the stalls - the two I tried - were not screwed in properly or something. I know it's silly, but it was really irritating. They could easily fan people out along the bar instead of straight back. Overall though, it was a find place for a local show. Just wish the acoustics were better. read more

I've seen several shows at this theater. Mostly shows geared toward my younger daughters age (6-9). They have been moderately good. Good lighting, nice stage production. Everything you might expect of a "children's theater". Tonight we are being treated by the teenagers in the Casa Manana Apprentice Program. They have apparently been working on this show all summer and Children Of Eden is the culmination of that effort. I am absolutely blown away. Expert vocalists and stage acting. A phenomenal Orchestra. Excellent sound and lights. Tonight has been every bit as good as anything I've seen created with a much more mature crew of thespians. read more
