I didn't quite know how to articulate what I wanted, but I knew I needed a cut badly but also didn't want anything drastic. Kayla asked me what I was looking for and listened. She didn't try to push anything on me that I didn't want. She gave me a dry cut to trim up the dead ends and clean up the overall shape. My curls have looked fantastic since. Very grateful and would certainly return to Kayla at Jessica Todd Salon. After moving from the city last year I struggled finding a local place that would do a decent job and have decent customer service as well....I've been to places around here that act like they are doing you the biggest favor just to "see you". After dealing with acrylic nails for years I finally decided to have them taken off and try and have my own nails look somewhat decent. I needed a miracle ...I discovered they do the new shellac nails so I am not going in every other day for a polish change due to chips. The location is great, the salon has a great vibe and everyone's just so darn sweet and my nails look fantastic. Haven't tried them for hair yet but will be sure to use them for that as well....

Today was my first time at this salon…read more The salon is very easy to get to because it's right across the street from the parking garage on Fleet St. and also around the block from the smaller lot by Hanover St. I saw Lauren for my single process color and haircut. We talked about my color and cut and Lauren was right on par with exactly what I wanted. She was very nice, welcoming and open to what I wanted. I started with unevenly colored hair, long root growth and old faded dye on the other bottom half. I was looking to be rid of the faded reddish color and start going lighter so that eventually I can have a much lighter brown. The color came out nice! It's a nice lighter brown and looks a lot more even. The haircut was just what I wanted, shorter and a little layering with texture. She gave me options of styling it and parting it differently. Very happy that I found this salon and a stylist I am happy with in Portsmouth! My fiancé will be going for his haircut there next week!

Its with sadness and disappointment that I write this I have gone here for a while and always…read moreenjoyed their service but yesterday I was charged 75.00 for a blow out and curls never in my life have I paid that for a blow out and curls I get my hair done twice a week. I spoke with the owner and she said that was the price. It took an hour and 1/2 for a blowout and curls when normally something like this is 45 minutes. I don not have textured or difficult hair its shoulder length. I feel like someone robbed me or took advantage I wont be going back. I called salons in the area and none of them were 75.00 for a blowout and that was without tip.
