It was nice and I was happy. I sent my daughter over for a manicure and she was charged $ 80.00 for a gel manicure. Included in this fee, is supposed to be a hand massage, which my daughter did NOT get. Unfortunately, one of the nails (on this regarded manicure-by Joan) came off either that same day or the next day. My daughter was very upset and called for an appointment to have the nail fixed. She was given an appointment with the woman who specializes in nails and this woman fixed her nail. The manicurist told my daughter that more of the nails were going to fall and she never should have had a gel manicure broker nails are too thin. My daughter was still upset because she paid $ 80.00 for what appeared to be a substandard manicure and called the salon again to complain-she felt she should not have been charged the full 80 dollars. She was told the owner would give her a call to discuss her concerns. This never happened-no one called her. I went back a few weeks later to get my hair done and I did not ask for a manicure. The hairdresser kept making comments about how great her manicures are. She must have given me this message 4-5 times. I didn't respond as it was obvious that she felt like she was right. Apparently, she is in the habit of giving gel manicures to people who shouldn't have them, not accepting any responsibility for a manicure that started falling apart within 24 hours all for the price of 80 dollars. No, I decided to write this review given the response of the hairdresser and the lack of response by the owner. Rather arrogant and egregious behaviour by both. I was happy with hair service, but not even that will get me to EVER go back.

Bursting with creativity, it's a safe space for getting experimental, whether you're chopping off a few precious inches or looking for the most perfect blonde highlights. Finding a salon and a hairstylist is like dating: you have to play the field a bit, get together a couple of times, weigh your options, and ultimately decide whether they're worth settling down for. It's exhausting, but once you meet the one, there's no turning back. Lucky for me, the stylist I visit, Meghan, is a wizard, and hasn't let me down since. In fact, I doubt any of the stylists here let their clients down, because they're all just so awesome and talented; Sanctuary Salon is basically like a revolving door of killer hair where you never leave without feeling like a million bucks. (a million-hair?) Today, I arrived for my 3:30 pm appointment, and the place was poppin' for a Wednesday afternoon! Known for its incredibly cool team of stylists and colorists, the salon has made a name for itself, and since I see a stylist whose Instagram handle is @alittlemoreblonde ("A Little More Blonde"), I know I'm in good hands when it comes to my blonde hair (give her a follow to check out her work!). Meghan manages to give me not what I requested, but something even better. It's always glossy, pretty, and doesn't look too 'try-hardy.' She's also tuned in with the best of hair-color technology, as it seems Sanctuary's team of stylists frequently hosts or attends continuing education events (I know this bc I peep their social media, duh.) Best of all, the hair color and highlights she gives me always grow out like a dream; there's no harsh line of demarcation, and people compliment me on my color even months later. Today I left with a really great transitional "fall blonde," with my locks showing off a super nice, dimensional-yet-subtle ombré that is a new look for me, so I'm pumped to rock it out this season. I never leave without booking my next appointment, and I already can't wait to for my Holiday 2019 glow up. I am not the type of person to worry too much about my hair. That changed today after going to Angels for the first time. I was a little reluctant given the limited reviews out there, but it was very convenient to my new home, so I thought I would give it a shot; I'm SO glad I did! I met and worked with Donna, and I truly can't overstate how wonderful she was. She really took the time to understand EXACTLY what I wanted and delivered an incredible result. She talked to me before cutting each section of hair to ensure we were on the same page. (**I would add here I got 10+ inches of hair cut, so this was no minor undertaking**). Donna was very friendly and easy to talk to. When she finished, she meticulously reviewed her work and showed me two different simple and manageable (even for me) ways to style my new cut.
