We were looking at the firearms in the case for a little while and were asked by one associate if we wanted to look at anything in the case and at that time we were not ready to see anything. There were 3 associates behind the counter at the time and another associate outside the counter talking to someone it seemed like he knew, we later found out this associate was a manager. When we were ready to look at a rifle from behind the counter we asked an associate that was working at the computer. At the time all the other associates had left from behind the counter and were talking with the manager and the person he seemed to know. The associate at the computer asked one of the associates now outside the counter to help us. The associate that was asked to help us clearly did not want to go back behind the counter to help us and verbal said so. He reluctantly went back behind the counter ,but after the way he acted and things he said about not wanting to help us (customers) I no longer wanted to deal with him. We decided not to look at a firearm and put down the other items we were going to purchase. We walked to the front and asked for a manager because we felt how the associate acted was very inappropriate and unprofessional. This is when we found out the associate standing outside the firearm counter was a manager. Mind you this manager stood there and saw how this associate acted and heard what he said. Said "manager" heard what we had to say and talked about some customer service award the store had previously received. It's great they had received this award ,but clearly based on the customer service we received that day we did not understand how the store received such an award. We were very disappointed and upset with the customer service we received on this visit. We will not be back and will be sharing with our friends and family about the customer service we experienced.

Popped in on a Saturday morning after shopping online. Figured be best to look in store before purchasing. The store is large and laid out well from a section standpoint. Everything is labeled, easy to find and easy to navigate. The store has seen better days. After walking around, some sections of the store give off "closing" vibes with empty or disheveled shelves and displays, or products on display that definitely need to be replaced. To go along with that, the floors are worn and stained in multiple places, shelving units are in disrepair, ceilings are stained, and more. The store needs some TLC. While I was in store to look at very specific items, I decided to wander the aisles and look for any deals or items of interest. I walked around the store and through each section for over 15 minutes, and passed by no fewer than 12 Associates and not one time was acknowledged or spoken to. Not that I needed help, but it is wild that no one took one moment to greet a customer, not even when I was leaving the store and passed by 4 Associates huddled by the registers. Overall, the store is not a good representation of Academy, or at least the Academy Sports I remember visiting. From condition of the store to service, or lack thereof, this location did not show well. Selection if solid and prices are not the worst, but without that, this would have certainly been a one star review.

Came back in town for a visit, looking for some fishing line and see things haven't changed at all. Saw a longer rod crammed on top shelf, bowing against ceiling tiles. See pic Onto BassPro for me

Good luck with that because all we found were small and medium. Have you not noticed the plethora of tall, athletic women in Williamson County? Note, Bombas socks are not with the socks near the shoe section because they find the need to have two sock sections. She also found an unusually low stock of leggings (compared to other Dick's) outside of the Calia brand that she doesn't prefer. Again, see comments about athletic females in this county. On the bright side, they're definitely keeping up with the Williamson County lacrosse craze and offer a tremendous variety of equipment in all popular sports for young people (except maybe ice hockey). So at least somebody there is paying attention to what they're selling.

I pop in on occasion and have shopped for clothes, shoes, grills and coolers. As with most Dick's, they have a solid selection of sportswear and you can usually get a solid deal on good quality athletic and athleisure wear. My only gripe with this location is the service, or lack thereof. On my last two trips in I was looking for something specific and needed assistance locating. Finding an associate that wasn't on the registers was nearly impossible, and when I did spot one, they seemed to scatter when they felt I was going to approach with a question. On both trips, I ultimately just looked, didn't find and left. And oddly on my way out, both cashiers who were not assisting other customers didn't even interact. The store is kept in good condition and is clean on each visit. Always stocked well and easy to navigate. Overall, not the best Dick's experiences.
