The GF says this is the Whole Foods of Eureka with better prices and more locally sourced items. This is hands down the best grocery store in the Eureka area if you're looking for high-quality, organic, farm-sourced products. Honestly, it feels like the only place around that really holds itself to such high standards. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and you can tell they care about what they do. Another hooorah grocery store for Eureka! What's Great Here? - I love love love their kitchen here! The gluten free cheddar biscuits and gravy is YUM! I've had this with their veggie scramble and maple sausage and it all pairs wonderfully! The taste of the maple in the sausage patty is delicious! - Their vegan burritos have straight up ingredients you can read. They serve these in the morning so I would call them first to see if they have any left over. It's really cool because if they do have some left over, they can put one or some on the side for you. Trust me, they sell out. - Their lunch hot foods behind the kitchen counter are great! The last thing I had here was their Birria (braised beef) and it was super tender. - I find really cool and healthy drinks here (stuff that has lavender or various flavors of kombucha). - They have a rewards card so if you become a frequent shopper, check it out! I used to really love this place before 2020. I would go often and get lunch, but since the pandemic things have never been the same. First of all the prices are insane. Most things are $1-2 more and 90% of the items in store you can get at the Co-op, Safeway or Amazon. So why would you go there? Well one reason was the prepared food. Currently the hot food always runs out before dinner and usually have to wait a long time to get food out of the cold case. Today I waited for over 10 minutes and finally gave up. I just wanted one thing, but the sandwich guy couldn't be bothered to get it for me. Unless there is something I can only get there I will avoid this place from now on. read more

Today, I viewed butter at over $13 a pound, the cheapest almost $8 a pound, prices so high I go home with half of what I need even though I shop cheaply and sales. Cute small natural food store- a lot jammed into a small space, busy parking lot, enough varying options to choose from, but a lot more expensive than any other specialty natural store I have been to. Also of note if you want a coffee make sure you purchase it at the store registers as the coffee shop at the front entrance does not have a separate register for patrons just wanting a coffee. Additionally, they have a good beer selection, but I would have hoped to have seen more local breweries available. I would stop again if staying in the area for the ability to select specific items for consumption during our stay in the redwoods. read more

We love going to ENFs. It has lots of fresh produce, and the staff there are very friendly and willing to help. We love the vegetables from there. They have hot and cold bar for breakfast, lunch, or late brunch. We sometimes get dinner from the hot bar just because its so delicious. The menu is always changing. There are some regular items like the vegetarian breakfast burrito which is one of our favorites when we are running out of time in the morning before work, or when we are going on a trip. Their natural/clean medicine area is full of great options for vitamins for all. The place is very clean and organized very well. When we make our annual trek to Eureka to visit our son, we usually book a suite at the Holiday Inn Express a block away from Eureka Natural Foods. The suite has a fridge and a microwave, so after we check in, we immediately head over to Eureka Natural Foods to stock up on vegan food and beer. GREAT selection of quality organic and vegan food, plus all sorts of other grocery store type stuff, including a really nice kitchen accessory department. Everything you'd ever want. Not quite as polished as Whole Foods, but that's ok -- the closest Whole Foods is a few hours away in Santa Rosa. We are loyal customers of Eureka Natural Foods -- at least when we're in Eureka. read more

I like to stop by this location of Eureka Natural Foods for a quick meal every now and then. The location is very convenient - it's right off of the 101 and there are multiple parking lot entrances/exits. I've never been given a problem about bringing my backpack into the store, and the checkout line is fairly quick. On top of selling a wide variety of foods for different kinds of diets and lifestyles, there's a smoothie bar, cafe (with kombucha on tap), sandwich and burger bar, and salad bar. There's a small dining area near the registers with a jug of water and cups next to the utensils. I've been satisfied with my experiences here aside from the prices of the made-to-order food. I've found that any foods that are charged by weight are about $2-$3 overpriced. The best meal deals here are the items with fixed prices or that aren't weighed. The sandwiches are good, but avocado costs extra even on the the veggie sandwich. That aside, I like coming back here. It's clean, easy to find what I need, and the staff is helpful. read more

What a nice little market (and it's not so little!) they have an awesome selection of interesting and hard to find natural ingredients from just about any part of the world! Also a nice deli, bulk foods selection and meat etc. We will be back! Also felt their prices were pretty fare given the fact that most of the items are organic and very much specialty. This place is exactly what I needed after driving down the coast. It's like Whole Foods but not as expensive and with a local feel. They have great sections and selections of food and drinks, small to-go meals and desserts, nuts... kitchen and bakery... aromatherapy, clothing, kitchenware... you name it! They have a good drinks selection and an amazing chocolate section. All my favorites and then some! I appreciate that they're also taking covid seriously because I've noticed that a lot of places on the coast aren't. I got a few to-go items and snacks for the road. One being the huckleberry cheesecake and it is probably my favorite now. It tasted so damn good, and at a fair price. read more

I like stopping by these little natural food stores, they're nice places to pop in and see what you can find. This place has really great little "beef strips" which are actually beef cubes, but seriously, they're worth trying out, they're up by the front. They also have a nice selection of cool and regular drinks. My wife and I got her some iced teas for example. I tend to think the prices at these places are a little ridiculous, but I guess it is "better" products, so I understand the price to a point. This was a nice stop along the way for us. Tried my first sandwich from the kitchen today. DISGUSTING. The sourdough bread crumbled apart instantly. It was impossible to pick it up and eat as you would a sandwich. The roast beef was overcooked, brown, and flavorless. The white 'cheddar' could be white American cheese for all I know. Completely bland. The mayo was gross, gross, gross. I did not want to eat this sandwich, but since it was $13, even though it was half the size of a Hole in the Wall sammie, I didn't want to waste the money, and picked through what I could. 2 stars for the awesome crew behind the counter. Not their fault they're slinging nasty ass food. Will I return to ENF?... absolutely, but I'll never again waste money on a deli sandwich. read more

I am sick so my boyfriend went in to get me soup, usually no biggie but today the lady told him that she would have to charge him double even though they sell BY THE BOWL- $5.99 as advertised. They said he scooped up too much of the actual soup instead of just broth so he would have to be charged for the hot deli at $11.99 per pound. Uhm, what? False advertising on their end, their soup is good but what's the point of making it self serve and selling it by the bowl if in all reality that's not the case. The bowl was 50/50 of the actual soup and broth. Bad advertising, they should put up a sign with the rules and regulations of getting their soup instead of advertising is as self serve. Giving two stars only because the soup IS good. Just be forewarned about how much you put in your bowl. read more

Loved this store. I always look for a natural foods store when I am traveling, because they tend to offer the organic/non GMO type of products I like. I was preparing for a 10 day camping trip in which I would not have electricity, and I wanted to get some healthy food. Their selection of packaged soups was great - I got some yummy ramen and very healthy oatmeal that lasted me all the way through to the last day of my trip. The store associates were helpful and kind, and their Covid-19 precautions were intelligently in place, with masks being required and one door for an entrance, one for an exit. While I was in the store, I noticed they had a big recycling area for cardboard, and when I found a small bit of cardboard packaging in my car that I didn't want to just throw away, a friendly staff member offered to take it off my hands for me. read more
