The lack of knowledge of the counter staff is unfortunate in a shop full of wonderful products that could be up-sold to customers with just a bit of enthusiasm. The prepared foods are what I started going to Max's for. Years ago, I loved the guacamole, now, I find it diluted with too much sour cream. The indian prepared food is delicious, and the price is comparable to getting delivery. I am happy to have Max's Market in my life, but feel that a specialty food store should have knowledgable staff who are totally gung-ho about food.
