This location has ammo and is such a rarity during the pandemic shortage. I was told there was a 2 box maximum for each type of ammo and then watched them give 3 boxes of ammo to the person in front of me. I came here to get my son his firearm safety card. It's much closer than going to other places. I've been to this place once before and that experience wasn't that memorable. This time around it seemed a little better than before. The young kid working there was friendly and helpful and answered my son's question about the various handguns they had around. The older guy was helping another customer which was good since my last experience was with him and I don't think he was very friendly. Prices of the guns were rather high. We went to Turners right afterwards and saw the same rifle at Turners $400 cheaper. Shop around if you're going in to get a gun. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience. So, my friend recommended this place to me. Very friendly staff, they can speak Cantonese and Mandarin. Went in to have my rifle looked at thinking something was wrong. I was helped by John and he gave me advice on how to zero my rifle. Spent about 30 minutes there talking rifles and ended up buying a stock and magazine to keep my rifle CA legal while also having a pistol grip and stock. It's hard to find inventory right now (ever really, in The People's Republic of Kalifornia) so my wife and I visited a few stores to see what was available for her to learn with. I stopped here by myself one day while running unrelated errands, and lo and behold they had a lightly used Beretta PX4 storm at a reasonable price. John was super helpful, and we eventually struck up a pretty good conversation. He found out I was a veteran and I ended up buying the weapon. I mentioned I'd like to get a second so my wife and I could have matching weapons to train with. He said he could get me a second, and sure enough he was able to get a matching second. I knocked a star off because the place is a bit dusty and messy, but it's a working shop with real knowledge. I'll go back if I need another weapon at some point. Like a leftover crumb that was missed at a Weight Watchers convention (sorry), Euroarms sits in plain view waiting to be snatched. Similar surviving independent shops have had their lives spared only because they sit just beyond arms reach to make it worth the effort for competitors. So there, in an odd corner of San Gabriel on West Valley Blvd., sits Euroarms. A place where slick new items share space with dusty relics who stand ready to serve their unique task. Regarding pricing, the numbers are what one would expect from a small specialty store. That means close to manufacturers retail price for new items, and somewhat flexible prices for used. Regarding selection, they carry guns that are current and trendy, such as Glocks and anything with a composite stock, but they also carry some collectibles and customized items; a major reason why I have followed them through two locations and years of customer loyalty. Regarding service, that's my Reason #2, and the group love that we all have for small specialty stores. Great customer service. Lastly, regarding knowledge, let's talk about that critical element a bit deeper. According to Google maps, Euroarms is 10.8 miles and 26 minutes from my home. Turner Outdoor's, a chain shop that I visit for essentials, is only 5.7 miles, or almost half the distance. My point is that I gladly travel farther because of this last point, Euroarms' knowledge. When it comes to purchasing guns, you don't want someone who's being paid low wages to be spilling canned knowledge. More importantly, you don't want to be dissed if you ask a seemingly dumb question. Although I'm experienced, I feel for newbies who I see at chain stores asking perfectly reasonable questions, but are snubbed with a snooty answer delivered from a guy who wears his insecurity on his shoulder. Not respectful or smart. Euroarms is the antithesis to this. For a new gun owner, patience, understanding, and safety should be the order of the day. For me, I appreciate their deep knowledge about the very latest Federal and State laws. Euroarms' owner will literally cite and share documents about specific laws that ultimately help me decide about modifications or purchases. Think, local hardware store vs. Home Depot. Frankly, being a liberal in a niche that's filled with conservatives, I always feel a bit like the person who shows up to Disney Hall piano concerto wearing short pants. They've got a Great selection of Pistols,Rifles Was also suprised to see an Ak-47 for sale since all the other Gun shops i've been to didn't have any in stock. I bought a mossberg 500 for 250$ out the door, but at his place its 370$ out the door. Saw a Saiga 308. for 600$ out the door but at his place it was 740$! I went to this gun store few weeks ago when the stay at home order began. There's a long line to get int and everyone was patiently waiting outside the store, 6 ft apart. Took my FSC test there. Staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. The whole process was fast and easy. Unlike other big stores, these guys were so knowledgeable and could answer all the questions that I had as 1st time gun owner. They carried several types of Glocks that other places didn't have and that's what exactly I was looking for. The best of all, they have almost all ammunition in stock. I'm not sure what other yelpers complained about but I'm very satisfied with my purchase and it's really worth it with my 2-hour wait. I'd rather pay a little more to support this local shop than other bigger stores that do not have anything available. When I came back 10 days later to pick up my gun, the owner even gave me some instructions and safety advices of how to use the handgun. I've been to Euro Arms many times and have bought several firearms there, as well as parts, lowers, and other stuff. No one has ever forced me to surrender my money, no pressure, no bad language, no one twisted my arm... then again... I know what I want and am looking for. I've worked out deals with the owner and employees. I've never been taken advantage of or abused. I can't compare them to the big stores as far as prices or selection are concerned, but if you want answers, they are straightforward, knowledgeable and patient.
