My Nightmare with a So-Called Mercedes Service Center I made the grave mistake of bringing my Mercedes C250 to what I now consider the most incompetent service center imaginable for some electrical issues. What followed wasn't just disappointing--it was an absolute nightmare that dragged on for over a month of my life that I'll never get back. From the moment I reluctantly handed over my keys, the facility went completely dark. Not a single phone call. Not one text. Nothing. It was as if my expensive vehicle had vanished into a black hole. I called repeatedly, growing increasingly frustrated as my calls went straight to voicemail, my messages collecting dust. The deafening silence spoke volumes about how little they valued me as a customer. Desperate for any information, I wasted my time and gas driving to their facility multiple times, only to be met with blank stares and pathetic excuses. The staff seemed determined to keep me in the dark, offering vague, unhelpful responses that told me absolutely nothing about my car's condition. Their indifference was staggering. The only thing that finally prompted them to acknowledge my existence was my threat to have the vehicle towed elsewhere. Suddenly, they scrambled to share what little they had discovered during their month of doing practically nothing. When I demanded an estimate and timeline--basic information any reputable shop should provide--I received nothing but evasive non-answers: "I'm not sure how long" and "maybe around $2,000 but not any more." No specifics, no confidence, no competence. Thoroughly disgusted by their unprofessionalism, I had my Mercedes towed to another facility the very next day. But the insult wasn't over. These people had the audacity to demand $379 for what they called "diagnosis"--a laughable claim considering they had accomplished nothing in over a month. Even after I fought them down to $277, I felt completely ripped off. The final slap in the face? They returned my vehicle with a torn-up floor mat and loose parts carelessly scattered across the floor. They couldn't even be bothered to return the car in the condition they received it. Their complete disregard for my property was appalling. Let my miserable experience serve as a stark warning: this place might fool people with simple oil changes, but they are woefully incompetent when faced with anything requiring actual skill or knowledge. My contact was Jose, my 996 had to be serviced because of the ABS and PSM lights on the dash. Being that the car is an 01 at times it can be very challenging. The ABS pump had to be rebuilt and the entire system had to be calibrated. The process was a bit long from start to finish but the issue was corrected and am now enjoying my car again. read more

I rarely write reviews, but I had to write one today. This has been the worst experience at a repair shop in my life. I brought my car in for a coolant leak and it was there for almost 2 weeks. After getting my car back 2 weeks later my light comes on so I bring it back and Jose claimed it was just a "burp" and air in my hose. I had to come back 3 more times within the next month because my light kept coming back on and the last time my car actually overheated. I was reimbursed in full for my services. I ended up taking my car to the dealership and found old Jose lied to me, he never fixed my leak, he never replaced any hoses. I think Eric is a nice guy and I hate to give his establishment anything short of 4 or 5 stars; but I did. The service has has dramatically decreased at this place. I don't know if they were too busy during my visit, short handed, or simply didn't care. It took an entire day before they could get my vehicle on the diagnostic machine. I felt like I was up-sold on maintenance procedures that I didn't fully understand but that may be my fault for not being a gear head. What irked me was that they would not tell me how much the maintenance procedures would cost until AFTER they were done. Even then, the repair cost they told me on the phone before I came to pick up the vehicle was off by a $100 from the final invoice that was presented to me 30 minutes later. I know I may sound like a spoiled WASP when I say this but even though they detailed my vehicle (for free/ or it was built into the cost) they failed to vacuum the trunk area. My car was returned to me in worst condition than when I brought it in...and that's saying a lot because its in pretty bad shape. I own a 1999 CLK 320 Mercedes-Benz. I picked this shop because their shop looked clean, they specialize in European cars and performance and I spoke initially with their front desk staff and it was positive. Pros: Great customer service from all staff that I met. They answered all questions and seemed very knowledgeable. The place is clean. Cons: Poor customer follow up, no transparency on pricing (which seems to be most repair shops), long wait times to get vehicle back, expensive diagnostic fee, car returned in worst condition. I took car in May 10, 2021 and spoke with Shawn about my car's issues. He had me write down what I wanted them to look over. After looking at my extensive list, he stated diagnostic fee might be $600-800 dollars. I knew the fee would be high from looking at previous reviews and because of the condition of my car. I asked him to give me a realistic time frame on diagnostics and an eventual price to fix everything. He told me after looking at my list, that It will be done before the end of the week. That sounded reasonable to me so I called an Uber and left. The next day I called back and asked them to diagnose why when turning my steering wheel to back up and making full left or right turns, my car would shudder and if they could add restoring my wheels to the repair list. I left them to do their work and figured I'd get a call back by Thursday. I didn't so I called back and was told by Shawn they were still working on it and that he would call me back. Friday came and went, Saturday came and went so I called Monday Morning. Shawn answers and I ask for an update. He states that he just got in and they are getting started for the day. He states that he will go back and talk to his tech and call me back. I don't get a call back so I contact him later that day or the next to state that I'm just going to pick up my car and return it when they have more time. He states he's the only one working and the car has not been sitting and they are working on it. He states that I have a lot of issues with my car (I'm aware). He states that so far the car is going to cost about or over 10K in repairs and in his professional opinion its not worth putting in the work. I state that I understand, how about we just repair what I need to keep it going for year or so. He also states that something is up with the transmission and they are checking that too. He states he will call me back with a number to repair the critical mechanical issues. I don't get any follow up for two more days and decide to pick up my car on Friday, May 21, 2021. I call and Shawn picks up and tells me about the extensive repairs and about the transmission issue. Stating that a reman would be about 5K and a new one would be 8K. He recommended that I put the money into another car. I arrive, Shawn is working on paper work for the diagnostics, the fee for them to check my vehicle came out to be $500.00 even. I get in my car and notice an issue immediately when driving away. My car has always had a rough idle but after getting my car back from Eurocar-Werk, the rough idle is horribly worse. The car shakes as if they didn't put all of the parts back together completely, left something out or didn't screw something back tight. I have had an issue with each repair shop I go to. One broke the steering wheel base cover and another caused the passenger door lock to be disengaged. I specifically asked them to return my car in the same condition I left it and they didn't. After trusting Eurocar-Werk with my vehicle, I was without a car for two weeks(would have been longer if I had not insisted on following up. I got a call back once), spent 300+ dollars on Ubers, spent $500 dollars for diagnostics, and a car in worst condition than when I left it and nothing was repaired. I would not recommend using this repair shop for your vehicle. read more

I can't speak to the auto service, but I can definitely say these guys deserve 5 stars for customer service. I got stranded at the Valero next door to Eurocar Werk in the recent floods and as a new mom had needs that needed tending. I walked in and said that I was a new mom and the gentleman at the desk who called himself "the new guy" told me to say no more and immediately showed me to the women's restroom. The restroom itself is the cleanest restroom I've ever seen at any automotive establishment. I felt very comfortable and the gentlemen there were extremely respectful and caring. I was a customer when Eurocar opened in the 70's under the tutelage of Carlos Passini. Back then, you could stroll through the shop and see the coolest stuff you could imagine....Magusta,s E-types, Daytonas, and of course, 911 Porsches. Today, under the ownership of Eric Anderson, you'll still see mouthwatering cars every day with the same level of knowledge as "back in the day". In fact, my tech, José, started working for Carlos when the shop first started. Not many mechanics know their way around mechanical fuel injection, nor CIS, let alone the obsolete device called a carburetor, but at Eurocar they are experts in all of these older technologies, as well the current and more modern stuff. The front office staff is friendly and helpful. I dealt mostly with Marcus and found him to be extremely competent, prompt and highly responsive. Ditto the very knowledgeable and "hands on" owner, Eric. If you think about having high quality techs servicing your car, you'll quickly understand why the repairs ain't cheap. I had them install an AC unit and a remote oil cooler in an old Porsche 911. I can tell you, from having done some mechanical repairs myself, this was not an easy job, especially to do neatly, without damaging the car. Unannounced, I showed up to see how the job was going and was elated to see that my tech, José, worked just as orderly and neatly as I do. I wanted to get some photos of the car from underneath, so I crawled under the car in my street clothes, took the photos and when i checked my clothing, there was nary a stain....the work floor was that clean. I recently had my car in for a misfiring/check engine light diagnosis. First call from them was (paraphrasing): Service advisor: You have random misfire codes in 5 cylinders. You need to replace plugs and coils. Me: What? I replaced the plugs and coils myself within the last year. Did you test them? Are they all bad? Service advisor: We recommend you replace them. Me: Can I speak to Eric? Eric: Yeah - you have misfires and usually that''s caused by plugs and coils. Me: Plugs/coils are only a year old. this is the first time I have had the check engine light come on. How can 5 plugs or coils fail overnight? Eric: Well, if you're telling me the plugs/coils are fine then we can look at some other causes. Me: I'm not telling you they're fine, you're the mechanic. I'm only saying they were replaced within a year. Long story short, he did not actually test plugs/coils (but was happy to just throw parts at my car). He did an oil change to a lighter oil which I changed out within a few days because it was not the proper oil weight for my car. I agreed to having the oil change done because I believed that something was malfunctioning with my engine and it's my only car. I trusted Eric's diagnosis (which he said came from having dealt with this issue before). Misfire problem has not returned, and the only action taken was changing the oil and changing it back. Related story: My friend recently took his car in for a suspension issue on a late model BMW. Got a quote for $10,000! Yes, ten thousand dollars! I recommended that my friend go to Today's European Cars (who used to work on my previous two cars). Tony at TEC fixed his suspension problem for $900. The other issues that were pointed out in the $10k estimate were either (1) truly not necessary or (2) not necessary yet (e.g. wait until the brake pad light goes on before replacing your pads). Eric truly is a very nice guy. He seems to know what he's talking about. He likes talking about cars. I really, really don't understand what is going on in his shop, but I can't afford to go back. read more

Servicing any vehicle is always a pain, especially when you own a foreign (German, in my case) car. I had a negative experience last year when having my car serviced at Mercedes Benz of Greenway ("MBG") , so I decided to try a local shop when my B3 (read: ca-ching$$$) was due. I grew up in the Bellaire area and had driven by Eurocar-Werk ("Eurocar") at least a thousand times in my lifetime, but I did not purchase my first European car until recently. Growing up I always ogled over the vintage Porsche's and other fancy cars owned by Eurocar on display around the exterior of the building, so I decided to give them a shot. I figured their display is a testament to their enjoyment of European cars and to their business, and I was not wrong. The Eurocar online scheduling system is a breeze. I was able to make a request first, second, and 3rd choice service dates. Within a couple of hours after submitting my request, I was given a follow-up call from Eurocar confirming the date and time of service, and we discussed what work needed to be performed. I was given a verbal quote for the B3 service, as well as oil change, so I knew what to expect going in. For grins, I tried making an appointment at MBG for the same services, and they weren't able to accommodate me for several weeks. Coupled with the fact that the MBG quote was higher than Eurocar's, Eurocar was the clear choice. On the day of service, I arrived about 20 minutes before the shop officially opened, but they were nice enough to let me leave my car so I could head on work. Within about an hour after drop-off, I was given a call to confirm the service, parts and labor (which is of course more than we had previously discussed, but not by much, and still less than Mercedes). I authorized the recommended services, and the car was ready for pick-up by 5:30 that same afternoon, and it was freshly washed for me. For the amount I paid, I know the service was performed well and was done so by a long-standing local business who has a reputation to uphold in the community, and not by a company who is just trying to rip off their existing clientele (ahem, MBG!). I will be back for additional service and repairs! read more

I can't say enough nice things about Eric and the team at Eurocar-Werk! After a friend backed into my 5 month old 328i, I went in search of a good body shop to do the work. I went to the dealer as a benchmark, then started pricing out BMW specialists. Eric's estimate was by far the least expensive, and seemingly the most honest! He looked at my car and simply said "I can do that for X dollars" where everyone else had a look then went back to the office and started plugging in numbers and figures into a computer program... ugh. In the meantime, I came out to my car one day to find that someone had hit my fender and that needed repair too! When I finally had the chance to take the car in, Eric honored the 6 month old estimate I was still hanging onto and quoted a reasonable price on the fender as well. Long story short, 6 days later, I had my beloved car back, it didn't cost me too much of an arm and a leg, and the work is gorgeous. They actually turned down work on this Landrover, due to a known original engine defect, until a high quality engine was located. For years I have owned foreign automobiles. My latest purchases was a Range Rover Land Rover. I had heard that these vehicles can be expensive to maintain and that either you should secure a good extended warranty and/or a good mechanic. After my extended warranty expired I quickly moved from dealing with the dealership to EurocarWerk. In comparing the dealership service and cost against EurocarWerk I can say that EurocarWerk has outperformed themselves. After saving me approximately $2,000 in service fees for a new transmission fluid pan, transmission gasket and fluid, and updated my severely outdated software EurocarWerk replaced my CO2 censors for free!!! Normally, this CO2 censor would cost approximately $600 at the dealership (not including labor costs). The dealership was prepared to charge me for two (2) CO2 censors and a new catalytic converter that I didn't need. EurocarWerk caught the mechanical issues the dealership completely missed, saved me approximately $2,000 in service and parts, then replaced my CO2 censor free of charge. I have seen good mechanics but EurocarWerk is great!! EurocarWerk has demonstrated fairness, competency, a customer-centric view on doing work at a price that is affordable. Took my car here because an engine light went on. Was told they could't get my car hooked up to the diagnostic machine until the next day. When they called me back they quoted me $790 to replace the engine intake manifold. Now I had no clue what this was nor how much it should cost, but I thought this was way too much. He said it wouldn't change the performance of my car but I wouldn't pass state inspection. So I went to go pick up my car to take it somewhere else to get another opinion but said I might bring it back. I was told my car was ready. When I arrived my car was out, hood up, as if they were working on it. Mind you, they did the diagnostic 3 days earlier. Asked for my keys and they said I owed $149 for a diagnosic. 149 to hook my car up to a computer?!! Went to get my purse from my car & told my brother what he said. My brother recommended I ask for a print out of the diagnostic, seemed like a reasonable request. The guy just typed on my invoice what the problem was, no actual paperwork proving the problem. Long story short, he didn't want to argue (or even listen to my brother's reasoning for the seemingly normal request) so he refunded me my money. Took the car elsewhere to have a diagnostic run, only cost $50 for the SAME procedure!!!!! And they said it could be a sensor malfunction on that part, and to just watch it. This place is where I take my car to get the state inspection, so basically it WOULD pass inspection. All in all, will NEVER use this place, and never recommend them again. They are way over priced and want you to do the MOST EXPENSIVE car correction when you can do a simpler solution for ALOT cheaper. Oh and they quoted me $120 for oil change when I can get it for less than $50 at most other places. read more

Eric convinced me to bring the car to his shop so they could take a look. They found that it was just one bearing that had failed and a new bearing and proper engine flush would fix it...AND IT DID!! I've used Eurocar-Werk for my BMW 650i for the past 4 years and I highly recommend them. If I take the car to the dealer, they always seem to find a way to want to charge me $3k+ for repairs. As an example, I recently just needed a microfilter replaced (a $150 procedure). They told me the car was leaking oil and it needed $3k worth of repairs. Eric looked at it for a few hours and told me it could be fixed for $75. In general, Eurocar-Werk are honest and seem to find the most cost efficient way of fixing your car. For routine maintenance (such as replacing your break pads), you'll still save 20%+ as compared to using a dealer. They're about as good as you can hope for an independent shop. They know their stuff, they don't invent problems that need to be fixed, and they're significantly cheaper and more honest than the dealer repair shops. read more
