I did a lot of research before committing to this Indy shop. I didn't want to bring my vehicle to just any shop without a reputation. Nicole at the front desk is super friendly, though she is busy taking calls, doing admin, working with the guys in the back, she and the team will get your vehicle right in no time. There is a small waiting room, wifi is available and a few chairs in the room. Prices are reasonable, they will make sure you are taken care of at a reasonable cost for your European vehicle needs. I've been going to these guys for a few years, on a recommendation from a friend who also owns an old import. These guys do fantastic, quick work, and are quite honest. They will tell you when something can wait, or if it's a safety issue and needs to be fixed right away and will find used parts for you if requested. Minus one star because they're not the cheapest place you can go to. On the bright side, you get what you pay for. If they fix something, it stays fixed. Also, they're right near Downsview station and will pick you up from the passenger pick-up if you need it. I'd recommend these guys for any car, really, but European cars especially. read more

I have been using McNally Auto for my multiple MB vehicle services since 2010. Charlie, the owner has been always hands on the job, knowledgeable with German built cars. You can always find him in the shop and ask for advises .They are transparent and very honest, explain what you need and more importantly they tell you what you do not need. I'll start off by saying Charlie and the guys at McNally Auto are pleasant and generally courteous people. That said, Ive really lost my trust and faith in their service. Since acquiring our second hand 2008 B200 Turbo we've continued to have it serviced at McNally as the previous owner and the multiple online auto forums gave me no cause to think otherwise. Generally the quality of the work has been fairly good, my main complaint is while they are cheaper than the "Stealerships", they still aren't exactly affordable. Factor in the fact you'll constantly be upsold and convinced you need repairs in addition to what you've come in for and things start to go south from there. The last straw for me was taking my car in for a scheduled servicing ($300 btw) and then being told that they'd discovered I needed a new CV Boot for the front right side. I agreed to the repair and said I'd bring the car back in 2 days once the part had arrived. The CV Boot is just a cover that goes over the drive axle and keeps dirt and such out. The part itself isn't expensive ($60) but the labor is. The front wheel drive shaft and steering linkages have to be disassembled to put the new boot on. So it's a 4 hour job to take the front end apart to put this boot on. Again, I understand and expect this. What I cannot understand or except is that after ripping apart and re-assembling the front end is that Charlie can walk in and say that he notices that the alignment on my car is now off slightly and I need a separate alignment at $125 done in addition to the $490 I just paid to have a silly rubber boot installed. You just pulled the front end apart and reassembled it, naturally the alignment is now off, why would you not re-align the front end as part of the CV Boot installation and just add it to the labor? It should have been included as part of the CV Boot installation! I decline the "small" alignment and get my wife on the case. She calls and speaks with Charlie who insists that it should have been explained up front that an alignment was going to be needed after the CV Boot installation was done (it wasn't). No settlement or compromises on the matter have been made since. As a result of this (and a few smaller incidents not worth going into detail about) we are now looking into a few new shops to work on our beloved Merc. read more

I was searching online GTA auto forums for reliable auto service with good customer reviews (BMW warranty/maintenance expired for my car). After few hours spent online I found out that McNally Auto is only one car service for used Mercedes/BMW cars in GTA with no client complains on users forums. I left my 2010 BMW x5 35D @ 9:45AM, October 22, 2012 to do standard engine oil change. I have requested to use certified by BMW - Long Life-04 engine oil - Quartz INEO 5W30, and accepted the service quote for ~$150 with diesel exhaust fluid fill out + filter costs and tax. The shop did not have LL-04 BMW certified engine oil in stock, they offered me a loaner (old hyundai car) to not wait in the shop. I was positively surprised that they offered me a loaner just for the oil changed. But later on I understood that it was a trick, to push me to spend more money car service and parts replacement which were still OK. Around 1PM I have received call, that my air filter is dirty and needs to be replaced. (BTW - the air filter was changed during last oil change @ Bimmex Woodbridge. The same technician changed the air filter when I saw him last time he was working in Bimmex. He works in McNally Auto now.) Also McNally's technician told me that my BMW's front brake pads and rotors are dangerously thin, needs to be replaced because of safety concerns. When I asked why auto sensors did not detect this and warned me, he answered that sensors do not work too, needs to be replaced (It was hard to believe). He offered me package price to replace front rotors, brake pads, sensors with all for $550. I was in driving in the car and did not have time and opportunity to compare service quotes/parts prices. Per McNally's technician I had to make decision quick if I wanted to pickup my car the same day. I trusted him, because he serviced my car earlier @ Bimmex Woodbridge, when he changed rear brake pads in my BMW for very reasonable money, I wanted to have my car back the same day, so I agreed to change all he mentioned for $550 (for whole package as he described) plus make sure that corroded brake callipers are replaced too. 20 minutes before shop was closed @ 4:40 pm, the same McNally technician called me again that my car is ready to pick up as he promised, but he told me that the service will be a bit more expensive and he will explain all when I arrive. When I arrived he showed me the invoice for $1330.32 !!!!!!! I was shocked, even at BMW Mississauga dealer when I asked for the quote for engine oil change/brake pads and rotors replacement the quote was $900-$1000. It was expensive but still less expensive then @ McNally Auto invoice. When I asked why the price is so different than we agreed, technician told me that someone from the office provided him a quote for one rotor replacement not for two, but he had to replace both rotors. Could you believe this story? He also did not hear that I asked him to replace brake covers/calipers. There was no owner nor office manager in the shop, it was closed already - 5:20PM. I wanted my car back, paid all what McNally Auto demanded to release my car, decided to contact the owner next day or so, and ask for detailed quote with part numbers to compare his prices for parts and labor with other shops. On October 24, I sent email to the owner charlie@mcnallyauto.com describing my experience at his place, also asked him to send me corrected invoice # WO 33959 with part numbers, quantity description so I could compare the prices, before I revisit him again. Charlie (the owner) has never replied to my email back. He just ignored me. --------- Taking all under consideration, I decided to post this feedback as an advise/warning to all potential clients of McNally Auto. Please do stay away from this shop or do not leave your car without signing out the work-order, to not be ripped off. I paid all money McNally Auto demanded but I promised myself to never come back to this place, and post this feedback to all user auto forums who can only rely on online customers reviews as I do (new in GTA). BTW, I did last full free check up of my car @ BMW Oakville, on September before BMW warranty expired - it was a month earlier before my car was serviced @ McNally Auto. BMW Service printed the report for me, with all check points showing that my car was in perfect/good condition except the rear tires (recommended to be replaced), McNally technician even did not notice tire conditions but recommended to replace air filter 2nd time in 6 moths instead, replace brake/rotors/sensors which were still in driving conditions (I believe) and WAY overcharged me for service done. Again, please stay away from McNally auto, unless you do not care how much you pay for the car service Good Luck! read more

Reluctantly, I write this review. It's based upon two essentials, I feel, that must be present in one's choice of an auto servicing mechanic shop that here are woefully lacking. Competence and trust. My experience: My Benz needed to have a relay for airbags replaced in its front seat. It took FOUR separate visits and several months to get this accomplished. Received such excuses as 'they sent the wrong part'. When they removed the driver's seat the first time they broke the door of the compartment on the seat and broke some moulding on the back of the seat. They left broken moulding on floor behind seat with a couple of bolts on the floor for good measure. I didn't like getting my car with bolts on the floor that hadn't been reinstalled. They also put the broken compartment door back in place so it wouldn't be noticed until used. When i first opened the door, it fell on the floor. This is type of trick my kids used to pull when they were six! When in for servicing the same problem the second time i complained about the broken door and they said they would fix it. They put some epoxy on the hinge in a feeble attempt to repair, noting and voicing that the repair had been done 'free of charge'. Thanks. It lasted two minutes. The third visit they properly fixed it. Competence and trust. When they so blatantly cut corners on items clearly visible to an owner how can i be assured they don't do the same on repairs under the hood that i don't have a clue about? Next, with adequate booking there is a loaner car available. Deal is you return loaner with same amount of gas as was in it when you got it. Fair enough. Each and every time i used the loaner i returned it with more gas than received. On latest occasion they had me sign saying there was 1/4 tank of gas before i got the car. In fact, there was less than 1/8 tank and i had to immediately fill. I should have gone back to clarify and rectify that oversight but didn't. I returned it with considerably more than 1/4 tank and when asked if i put gas in it i said i returned it with much more gas than was in it when i received it and then I voiced that the amount had been mistakenly indicated on the form i had signed. Not one word in response form owner's wife. Not one word. She turned her back on me and walked away. I said to myself that there must be better available. Four times is too much to fix what should be a simple problem. When challenging them with this , i was met with defensiveness. Not once did i receive an apology. It was 'not their fault'! I guess i sound like a difficult customer but i truly try to be reasonable in all my dealings with everyone. I don't tend to have problems with people. I will, however, stand up for myself. Their attitude sucks. The last time i was faced with a $1600 bill for that item and other things that needed to be fixed. Or, so I was told. My trust in them has completely evaporated. Internally I questioned whether or not i was being upsold for work. Perhaps not but i can no longer be certain. We are so vulnerable when dealing with mechanics. There must be ones out there in whom i can better place my trust. Again, check my reviews. I am not a negative person. But do think twice about choosing .McNally Auto Service. I'm giving them a pass. read more

Took my car here after reading great things about them on Benz-World. I needed to get my front brake pads, rotors & wear sensor changed so I got a quote from them and they came about $125 less than the dealer wanted. Also I was in and out in 1.5 hrs and the dealer wanted me to leave the car all day. They also mentioned they will do all regular maintenance for way cheaper than the dealer (like 75% less!). I am giving a 4-star since it is only my first time there and with maintenance it is tough to say right away if a job is great but after some future visits if this continues I will probably bump it to a 5-star. read more

Honest, good fair - but do your self a big favour and ask how much before you get the work done so there are no surprises. I have referred a dozen people to this shop... I have always been skeptical of new body shops as I am someone who has gone to the same one for as long as I can remember however, after visiting McNally Auto and meeting Constantine I have come to learn that there are other amazing mechanics out there. Not only is he courteous, knowledgeable and attentive, he is also honest, fair and forthright with car information. My boyfriend has been bringing his BMW to Constantine and McNally Auto for over 5 years and they have never steered him wrong. They are quick, efficient and I never felt like his car was in the wrong hands. I would trust McNally Auto with my own car in a heartbeat if something ever happened to my mechanic as I know that Constantine has consistently treated my boyfriends car like it was his own. This is HUGE. Often when you visit dealerships or mechanics you feel like they expect you to have all the money in the world. McNally offers world class service, keeps your sanity in check and tries to ease the pain of those expensive car repairs. Definitely a high recommendation in the North York area. read more

For the past 13 years my 1997 Mercedes has been serviced at McNally Auto. Wednesday was just one of the many times Charlie has saved me. When I called in the morning to tell him about a problem his response was for me to bring it in and he would check it out whatever time that was. True to his word I was in and out in half an hour, sadly my car wasn't. A loaner was provided for me. The next day I picked the car up. Not only was the service fast but Charlie saved me money. It has always been my experience that Charlie takes the time to explain the problem,the options and shows the results. He is never reluctant repair a part when possible. I have a vintage 1991 300SE MB and 2013 SL 63; have been taking my cars to McNally Auto for over 20 years. Charlie is always capable of handling complex repairs with ease. He has decades of experience; combined with fair pricing and honesty he is hard to beat! They once installed a new power steering pump on my 1991 MB and there was a problem with the pump. They did not hesitate removing and replacing it under warranty and no charge for their service at all. Over the years, I am very impressed with their work and I would recommend him to anyone who wants fair price and quality service on their vehicles. We had lost trust in this company. First there were small things (like a loose bolts) and now it is just disrespect for customers and lies. I had brought my Mercedes for a maintenance appointment at 8:30 am and was told that it will take 4 hours. Their front desk has neglected to call me at the END of the day (we had to call our self) to only find out that car IS NOT READY and will be ready NEXT DAY. Next day when we called them, they said that they left a message for us to pick up a car. This was an obvious lie since they have THREE of our phone numbers on file and neither of them had a mentioned message. Needless to say that not having a car for one and a half day when you need to go to work is inconvenience. But they have managed to make things worse by lying and making sarcastic comments like "Did you expect me to call you every hour?" etc. For the rate of 100 dollar per hour one could expect honesty and friendliness which this company is lacking... And all they had to do was just call us and say " listen, we are sorry, we were very busy and could not finish the job on your car. We will get back on your car first thing in the morning..." One phone call could make a difference...That's all it takes - be honest and polite. We are normal people - we would understand. read more

I called for a ballpark quote on repair with very specific details. The type of work and even the parts requested were clearly out of depth for the receptionist, and she was disinterested on helping. I asked to be passed onto someone more knowledgeable to continue the discussion, but she insisted on calling a M-B dealership on my behalf instead. I guess she has more than implied I should take my business somewhere else. Our family used to be loyal customers of McNally's but their service has really taken a nosedive over the years. I will not be giving any more business to them unless they can demonstrate a 180-degree turn on service improvements. I took my Benz for an alignment and noticed that it veered to the right, was hard to know at the time given the bad quality of the roads around but when taking it on the highway something was not right. they obviously made it so it would put pressure on one ball joint in an attempt to break it and bring me back... read more

In my experience with this garage the prices are okay as long as you ask how much in advance. Competence in the work is okay but the biggest issue is the younger female receptionist. She is very rude and doesn't have the appropriate skills to deal with the caliber of customers they are trying to attract. read more

This place scammed me did not fix the issue and charged me for something I never asked to be replaced , they completed work on my car without providing a written estimate first and could not reverse what they had done as they broke the original part they decided to replace , and did not repair the part I expected them to , this was all discussed over the phone they took it upon themselves to replace the part without my consent then forced me to pay for it . The staff was rude and did not even apologize for the damage they had done they took the position of denial and blame on the car on me everything else but them - I would never bring my Mercedes back to them or any car for that matter , they been in business awhile and they seem to rest on that but the customer service skill level and over all accountability is seriously lacking at this repair shop you are better off bringing it to the dealership ! My biggest regret is trusting them I thought being a family business I could trust them but they are a family of rude crooks ! read more

The air conditioner on a 99 C230 stopped working so I took it to McNally for service. They said the condenser had a leak, and needed a new one. Two years ago the same condenser was replaced. The price was $285, but after I stated that 2 years ago I only pain $260 Nicole said she will match that price. After the job was done the invoice stated the original price of $285. At this time Nicole said she was told basically not to adjust the price. I was never told of the price difference. The only person that would tell her that, would be either Charlie, the owner, or his wife PAULINE. Not exactly a good way to treat one of your better customers. Through the years I've always found McNally's to be fair, and reasonable. I have always spoke very highly of them, and recommended the garage to lots of customers. The last couple times I 'v e found them to be less customer oriented and more money hungry. It's not the price difference that bothers me. It's the principle. Do NOT tell you customer one price, and charge them another. This will hurt McNally's in the long run as I will not recommend them to anyone else.... Perhaps it's time to find another garage?
