I'm not really sure why this is legal and mgmt's justification is that counsellors receive tips at the end of the summer. (Thank you for subsidizing some of the salaries,) but there are many committed young people who work very hard to make ever camper's summer an amazing one don't share in those tips. I'm sure the owners are doing quite well and it's a shame that a part of their success is a result of taking advantage of The young people who are so dedicated to making Kiwi a success.

Jerry, and the rest of his team took notice of what I could and could not do and pushed me to my limits. The Northstar team is very professional, while also being friendly. It is a fun environment with music playing as they train you. They have every ball imaginable and two basketball hoops in the facility. The best way to describe a workout is that they work many different muscles. At one point I was on the treadmills, then on an erg machine, then lifted light weights for reps that worked my back and finished it off with some plate pushes. They also offer a shake for once you are done with the class. Shakes cost $4, strawberry was awesome.

Jordan has come to the kids' swim practice to observe and talk/learn from their coaches so as to understand their needs. My daughter is 6 so for her age group, they break out the kids by level and groups so no group is bigger than 7-8 kids per instructor. They have several instructors at once looking over the kids to ensure safety. I feel like they have the class well organized. This place is definitely geared towards girls instead of boys. For beginners I don't think it matters, but if you are looking for more advanced training for boys, I would go elsewhere. They offer 10 weeks sessions and gives discount if you sign up for multiple sessions (i.e. 6 month/ 1 year). Makeup class is allowed once per 10 week session. They also offer Winter and summer camps and birthday parties. For covid safety, they don't require masks which is great since the kids can get heated doing all the flips and jumps! They check temperature and sanitize the kids hands when they enter the facility. Parents can drop off the kids or stay at a viewing lobby while kids in class. My parents have been members here for as long as I can remember. My dad has always been an avid…read moretennis player and my mom started taking lessons so that she could share something my dad loved. They both play in several leagues and have a couple days a week that they're in on a regular basis. Apart from tennis camp as a kid, I've never been much of a tennis player so when I'm there, usually I stick to the fitness area. From that perspective, there is nothing terribly special about the offerings but it's pretty much got whatever you need. I've never been in when it was crazy busy in the fitness area so I'm not sure how well people manage with one squat rack. The people who I see have always been friendly though and happy to let you work in. Even though the fitness space isn't huge, it does a nice job of giving you what you need without taking too much space from the tennis courts. Plus they also have a separate space for fitness classes if that's something you're interested in. Overall, it's a good option if you'd like to play tennis and be able to work out at the same place or even if (like me) you're not hitting the tennis courts.

Super fun Girl Scout Camp not too far from NYC / Westchester - about an hour, give or take…read more The great thing is that the drive up starts to feel more and more like "the country" as you get closer. It's kind of easy to miss the entrance but once you find it, you be able to park and walk to the various campsites. Not sure if this qualifies as "glamping"... There are pre-pitched tents with cots as well as cabins and bathroom buildings with showers, toilets and running water at each of the sites. Apparently there are cabins as well but I haven't seen any kids staying in them (they may be for younger kids, when they're here). There are also covered cooking areas with sinks and hearths for fire building and outdoor bonfire fire pits already cleared and ringed with large rocks. Having said that, these areas are all open to the elements, save the roofs in the cooking areas and the bathrooms / tents. Overall a very quiet, peaceful spot in the woods, with tons of trees and a beautiful lake. This is a pretty great introduction to camping for kids if they've never gone camping before.

After 8 years of summer bliss at Pennsylvania Girls Scout Camps we thought we would try Rock Hill. The first year we signed up they cancelled the entire season with no notice 3 weeks before it was supposed to start. This year my daughter was sent home 2 days into her first week for a conflict that was handled incredibly poorly and wouldn't even have been a bump in the road for Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania. To make matters worse they didn't even bother to follow up to discuss with us what happened. We will never go back to this camp and will happily continue driving 2 hours to wonderful Woodhaven, Laughing Waters and Mosey Wood where my daughter is happy and safely away from the drama and incompetence that seems to be plaguing Rock Hill. I'm glad others have had better experiences but beware because when things go wrong they do not know how to handle it.
