I just finished my training here. I would have kept going but my circumstances prevent it. I had…read morean absolutely great experience. They have a very good program and are genuinely interested in helping you get stronger and healthier. I worked mainly with Sheila as my trainer. I just loved her. She was so energetic and passionate even at 7:30 pm!! Even though I was her last client at the end of a long day, she treated me like her first. I have some injuries and limitations and she was really good about being mindful of that yet still pushing me. And she would even get down and do the more heinous (but good for you!) core and leg exercises right along with me! Not just demonstrating, actually doing them! So o felt very motivated and also like we were in it together. This type of training is a little on the pricier side, it's true. But the trainers are genuine and care so much about their clients and their work. You really feel that. You feel cared about. So if you really are looking for solid guidance and a program that will grow with you as you improve, I recommend this place and these trainers. I learned so much and they helped stretch me out of my comfort zone. Hopefully one day I can come back.

I have been coming here since 2012, and this is the best gym around for every reason. I have lived…read morein multiple towns, tried other gyms for the convenience of them being closer but always kept my membership here because I love this gym. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The place remains clean, I can always get on the machines I need, the cardio equipment is accessible no matter what time you go, members are courteous, the layout is great and they've also recently redone the bathrooms which makes the place look really nice. Tanning & a smoothie bar is also offered which is a plus. 10/10 would recommend this gym to anyone looking for the best gym around.

    ### THINK TWICE BEFORE JOINING BIG SKY FARMINGTON…read more **Potential members--please read this before signing a membership agreement with Big Sky Farmington.** My daughter joined Big Sky Farmington **while she was still a minor and in high school**. A few months later, she needed to cancel because she is going away to college out of state. When she contacted the gym to cancel, instead of making the process straightforward, we were told there was a **one-year contract** and that she needed to jump through a series of hoops to prove that she was moving. That raises a very basic question: **How does Big Sky believe it can enforce a one-year contractual obligation against someone who was a minor when the membership agreement was entered into?** I'm not a lawyer, so I'm not going to make a definitive legal conclusion about the enforceability of the contract. But the fact that **the member was a minor when the agreement was entered into** is a significant issue that I believe deserves an answer--not simply a reference to the fine print. And the cancellation experience gets even more concerning. We provided documentation showing that she has been admitted to college out of state. Apparently, that isn't enough. Under Big Sky's stated "moving" cancellation policy, they are demanding things such as a new lease, utility bill, driver's license, pay stub, insurance document, bank statement, credit-card statement, etc. For students, they specifically demand **both a class schedule AND a tuition receipt**. They also say they require **25 days' written notice** and that payments will continue until they receive what they consider "sufficient proof" of the move. Meanwhile, Connecticut has just strengthened its consumer protections around cancellation of automatically renewing memberships. **As of July 1, 2026, Connecticut law requires covered businesses to provide an easy way to cancel, prohibits requiring consumers to cancel in person or by mail, and requires businesses to promptly process cancellation requests without obstructing or delaying them.** Businesses that fail to comply may be subject to investigation for unfair trade practices. ([CT.gov][1]) Connecticut's Department of Consumer Protection has also specifically warned consumers about health-club cancellation problems and says that when a member cancels, the health club must provide written confirmation of the cancellation and its effective date within 10 days. ([CT.gov][2]) So here is my question to Big Sky: **Why is a former high-school student, who was a minor when this membership was entered into and who is now leaving Connecticut for college, being subjected to this level of resistance simply to cancel a gym membership?** This isn't about trying to get something for free. It's about **basic fairness and transparency**. If you are considering joining Big Sky Farmington, my advice is simple: **READ EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU SIGN.** Ask specifically: * Is there a one-year commitment? * What happens if you leave the state for college? * Exactly what documentation will you need to cancel? * How do you submit a cancellation request? * When does billing actually stop? * What happens if the person signing the agreement is under 18? And if you're signing up a teenager, **pay particular attention to who is actually entering into the contract and what authority the gym believes it has to enforce that contract.** A gym membership shouldn't require a consumer to become an expert in contract law just to leave. **My experience has made me seriously question whether Big Sky Farmington is the right place for families, students, or anyone who values straightforward cancellation policies and customer service.** Potential members: **do your homework before handing over your payment information.** [1]: https://portal.ct.gov/ag/press-releases/2026-press-releases/at
