I have always driven past this place and even watched some commercials on local TV about this place but have never walked in or purchased anything because we have had only boys as grandkids. Fast forward to now and we have a granddaughter and my girlfriend swears by this place. She says the things you find here cannot be found in your average big box store. I have seen some of the dresses and shoes she has purchased and they are simply beautiful. Very unique! In all honesty they may be a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. I discovered European Boutique when I moved to CT many years ago. This store is on a commercial street in Bridgeport. From the outside this store looks extremely unpretentious. However, if you are looking for a special occasion outfit for your child, even if you don't live in the area, it is so worth the trip. If you don't find it there, you won't find it anywhere! There are hundreds of selections ranging from birth, christening, communion, wedding, special birthdays and occasions. There is even a selection for little boys, so they too can look their best on special occasions. Angela, the proprietor, is so pleasant and helpful. She will show you multiple items within your price range. Each outfit more beautiful than the other---it is hard to make a choice because there are so many beautiful options. In addition, if they don't have what you are looking for, no problem, she will order it or if needed, have it custom made. My latest purchase was a christening suit for my grandson. The christening was less than a week away and the suit I chose was too large. Angela went above and beyond the call of duty and had the suit I preferred altered to "perfection" for a nominal charge. There were so many other choices in the store. However, knowing this was my favorite, she went out of her way to make sure I loved the outfit and had it altered in such a short amount of time! So, don't waste time looking elsewhere. It is worth the trip, even if you live in another state. You WILL find it here! I recommend this store, without reservation. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I was looking for a one of a kind dress for my daughter first holy communion and did not want anything in my area (Waterbury). I ordered a dress in February for the event in May. I'm thinking I'm right on schedule, hate doing things last minute. Well the dress never came in and i was continuously getting reassured that it would be in on time and it never did!!! Tried to find something else within the store since I had less then a wk til the event and i didn't like anything on the floor. I settled for one style in which it still needed to be altered. The owner then sent me to a seamstress down the street who she worked with. She flat out said it could not be altered in time (at that point i appreciated her honesty). Went back to the store and the owner refused me a refund!! As if this was my fault. Remember I'm less then a wk away with no dress, and out of a few hundred $$. Nasty people, who know nothing about customer service. I got the impression from this other elderly woman that came in to buy a gift for her granddaughter, that she was known to be this type of establishment in the neighborhood. Trust me, she does have nice pieces (overpriced by the way) but if your like me, and willing to pay top $ for something, you should get top notch service at least the respect and honesty that should come from a boutique. read more

Visited this shop today and I was blown away by the hundreds of beautiful dresses for little girls. The owner took her time with us and wasn't pushy. You can find anything from Baptism, First Communion, Flower Girl dresses and more. I even saw the cutest outfits for little boys. The shop is small and not in the best location but that doesn't matter. What matters is ......you will leave there happy. read more

I just recently purchased a baptism outfit for my son. The service was great and the owner was extremely nice! I told her my budget and she was able to find the perfect outfit for him. Yes there are some pricey ones but you may find one that you can afford. You would never think to walk in from the look from outside but its beautiful inside! They have tons of clothing for baptisms, communions and wedding outfits for kids. It was very easy to find a boy outfit as they have a small selection. They have a larger variety for girls. I am not one to write a review but felt the need to based on the recent bad one. The owner has been doing business for 30 years and told me she doesn't remember an incident of someone not receiving a dress in time for their special day. This boutique is worth a try.
