I don't think I've been to a supermarket that's had this amount of range and variety. The produce section is HUGE and so fresh! The proteins and seafood sections are plentiful, clean, and not too smelly at all. There are rows and rows of dry foods, seasonings, snacks, and more. There's a huge cosmetic and health section with Chinese medicines, Korean and Japanese skincare and makeup, and lots of incense and scents. Beyond just the grocery store, there is an extensive food court serving up Chinese and Taiwanese eats. There's even a bakery onsite whipping up cakes and all sorts of breads. I'm not one for cold sandwiches, but this was probably one of the best cold sandwiches I've ever had. In fact, I ended up buying some deli meat because I liked how good the pastrami was. The store is cute and they make great use of the limited space. It seems like most of the international Imports are Eastern European (and from what I can tell, mainly Russian). The owners were very helpful and nice, and even showed me to some of the house-made pickled items (of which I bought a small tub of sauerkraut).

For some reason, lard is hard or impossible to find at large chain supermarkets, but I found it easily at La Superior. They have a better selection of chilis than other supermarkets at much lower prices. The cashier/clerk who works there is also super helpful. In my last trip, I was looking for epazote, and not only did she point me out where it was, but even helped me find the freshest bundle of epazote she had in her fridge. I hope to continue exploring Mexican cooking, and I'm glad I have La Superior here to watch my back.

Prices are a little high for the prepared foods, but you get what you pay for. The variety of items at this store is good. Aisles can be a little tight to maneuver around if it gets pretty crowded, though.

If a store charges customers based on the listed price, then it should provide the exact change when customers pay in cash. Consistently short-changing customers is essentially a hidden extra charge.
