I requested a Brazilian wax. I was serviced without an appointment because they had a cancellation. This was my first time at this place and Moriah's energy was great but I asked her to leave me a triangle design and as we were talking she completely failed to execute. She ended up trying to take the already applied wax off gently to see if she could still do the triangle. It ended up being super small to the point I should have just told her to take it all off.. she was very apologetic but it just isn't a good feeling when going to a new place and already feeling uneasy. I also had to adjust to them not leaving the room so that you can get undressed.. overall not sure I'll go back. read more

I personally had an absolutely amazing experience and hope it stays that way. It was such a good experience, I was rushing to make this review after my service. I didn't want to forget. First things first, it was very clean which is huge. The receptionist and all customer service in general was great. It was my first time so I had to fill out the form prior to going back but it didn't take long at all. If you're familiar with the area, it's in the town center so parking isn't always the best. Because I wasn't thinking, I left right when I should've and therefore was a few minutes late but that wasn't an issue. My specialist was Laurie and she was wonderful. Verified my service (eyebrows wax), went step by step of the entire process and did a wonderful job. I'd never been somewhere that was so thorough so that sat well with me. She let me know everything she was using as well as recommendations to get my brows to how I want them. She recommended the products she used and while I didn't need all of them, she convinced me enough that I did need one so I bought it. I watched her clean after I was done, she told me when I need to return, and then she escorted me to checkout. I was given a thorough explanation of the wax pass and they booked my next appt for me. I have been a frequent member of European Wax Center for 10 years and can't say enough how much I am walking out satisfied with my services. I recently moved back to Gainesville and was nervous to try a new location. As a frequent customer, I typically buy wax passes for my Brazilian services to save some money and have a seamless process. The Gainesville location is placed in the Butler Town Center across from Cheesecake Factory and I was able to easily locate the center and park. When I walked in, the associates greeted me and were very nice and answered all my questions about my account prior to my appointment. I loved how clean this location was and the display of the products were very organized on the shelf. For my wax service, I had Brianna who was very friendly throughout the duration. The service was quick and efficient and no hairs were left behind! At the end of my service, I was presented with a QR code flyer for promotional offers for the month which was very helpful as I need to restock on some of my post treatment products. I would recommend EWC overall as I have been a loyal customer and if you can get wax passes especially during the promotional sale period I would say go for it! They can help assist you with a payment plan for the passes as well! read more

It's Summer time babeh-babyyyy! And for me, it's always a Hot Girl Summer and this year, we're waxed and vaxxed babes, get with it! And European Wax is definitely my favorite spot to get waxed! I don't think there's ever a time that getting hair ripped from your skin sounds like a fun afternoon with your girls lol but European Wax will try their hardest to make the vibes feel just the same lol. A person's connection with their Wax tech is almost as important as romantic relationships IMO, lol. Your wax tech knows you and your body far better than many others may, they are unphased by seeing you in your hairy glory and love you still! It's truly a gift! I've been consistently going back to EWC for Kamesha. She's so down to earth, quick, yet gentle and I feel like I'm chatting it up with one of my homegirls while in the butterfly position with a woman who's last name I don't even know LOL - yet, I trust her with my life lol. Now, she's the ONLY one I'll go to for my wax. This location is always clean and the ladies at the front are all SO sweet! I think my only complaint is the big sells post-wax, lol. The wax pass and products are always tempting (I've already bought some!) but they don't have to sell so hard, it's great stuff! I booked a waxing session online for a Wednesday at 7:45 pm. I received a voicemail the next day confirming my appointment for "Wednesday at 8 pm" and assumed they had pushed back my appointment by 15 minutes due to scheduling issues. I showed up to my appointment 5 minutes early at 7:55 pm and was told by two employees I was late and would have to reschedule for a different day if I wanted to be seen. I explained the voicemail that clearly stated the 8 pm time and offered to play it for them since it was still saved on my phone. They said no and went on to tell me that European Wax Center uses a call service, and they'd been having recent issues with the service giving people the wrong times. And unfortunately, in my case, because they close at 8 pm, they had to turn me away. I'd assume the large majority of local salons and waxing establishments don't outsource appointment reminders to a call center to be cheap, but European Wax Center does. I'll be finding a local salon in the future rather than going to this corporate chain since these types of business practices lead to so much frustration for the patrons AND employees (I felt bad for the two who were clearly uncomfortable that they had to turn me away), and the only benefit is to the higher-ups in the corporation who increase their profit margins by not paying receptionists. read more

Update: I was called this morning because Nyia is no longer with the company and I was in tears because I loved her so much and had a reservation with her today. I was rescheduled for the same time slot with Amber and she blew me away!! She is so knowledgeable and recommended the best products for my skin type. Riley let me sample the products up front and I ended up buying one of them. She was also very friendly and knowledgeable!! The store is very clean and today everyone was on schedule so I went in promptly at my reservation time! Nyia is incredible. I had my first wax with her and she made me feel super comfortable. I bought a wax pass for 12 waxes just to keep getting services from her!! They do sometimes run 15-20 minutes behind schedule though. I had a minor issue and management was so quick to call me about it the same day and made it right. read more

DO NOT BOOK MORIAH! I had to still go home and shave. I've only been here 2x and will not be back again. My 1st time wax was with Antoinette. She was nice and very understanding when it came down to my wax needs being met. On the other hand, my 2nd experience was with Moriah and it was very distasteful. She has awful customer service. I booked a stomach strip and keep in mind my hair grows in a vertical line. Antoinette did a vertical strip and Moriah did an unnecessary horizontal strip in an area where there's no hair growth. I mentioned it to her and she told me she would have to charge me for a stomach full for the 10 (I counted them) hairs around/above my belly button. I was flabbergasted and immediately grew upset due to the difference in stomach strips and the fact that she was unwilling to accommodate me. Especially, being there's no option for upper stomach. She then asked me to leave without finishing my service because I was trying to tell her about my hair growth. She then rudely asked me if I went to esthetician school. I may look young, but I'm a college graduate and current dental student. My academics far exceeds esthetician school. I refrained from putting her in her place and making a scene after she insulted my intelligence. Instead, she received no tip, lost a customer and received a bad review. I recommend finding a personal esthetician, as I will be going back to mines. If not, Antoinette is your best bet or even brazils waxing center. read more

i really like this place because the way they wax your eyebrows is different compared to other places; the wax is much less irritating and it does not hurt as much. the service was also really good the lady was nice to me and explained a lot of things about waxing that i did not know before. the only thing is this place is really expensive when compared to a typical eyebrow threading or waxing place, so i dont know for sure if I would go there all the time to get my eyebrows done, but if you can afford it it's definitely worth it read more

So. Bad. I've been to a European Wax Center before (in Estero) and was a loyal customer to them. When I made the move to Gainesville about a year ago this place didn't exist (or so I believe), and when I realized there was one so close to campus I decided to make an appointment. Chelsea completely messed up my brows. I've never seen brows so uneven, or misshaped. She completely removed half of my tail end, the lines aren't straight, and the other eyebrow had so many stray hairs around the tail end. The front desk pulled a "your brows look great!" when anyone can see they're extremely uneven and a poor job. Next time when your coworker messes up offer a discount or waive the cost instead of making me pay the full amount. I've attached my brows without product before the wax, and a picture of them now. I used to go to EWC in Gainesville, FL back when Nyia was there. She was the absolute best, but then I was told she was no longer there so I quit going for a while. Finally went back and had my appointment with Antionette. She was friendly. However, the wax and the experience itself was not great at all. She didn't do anything to ease the pain (like adding pressure, etc), barely spoke, left many hairs (didn't even tweeze them out), and completely skipped the middle leaving many hairs. Very disappointed and upset that I spent over $100 on this wax and it's barely subpar. read more

Antoinette was a great waxer, really fast, and I had minimal ingrowns because she explained exactly how to take care of my skin post wax. The most irritating part was the fact that when I was checking out, the front desk person tried to talk me into buying a million and one things. I said no to like five things and she kept trying to sell me packages. So this was my first time...& it hurt like a *insert profanity of choice* Lmao Was clean and waxer did not double dip. She was also very gentle. Front desk lady was super nice! However I currently have left over wax on my vagina, not my favorite. Also I thought I got a Brazilian, however this does not include your inner thighs or any hair below your belly button. I've gone with friends before...& usually they take all of that hair. So I wasn't a fan of paying extra for the few hairs on my inner thighs.... read more

I have been to several locations in Florida, but this location by far has a lack of customer care and customer urgency, they never call to confirm appointment nor updated your info when mentioned to do soo, I would rather drive 1 1/2 away due to the poor service they had rescheduled me twice already, the first time I drove 45 min to the shop to be told that my waxer had called out I had rescheduled for 4 days later to be actually called again to cancel my appointment due to having to sanitize, I get most of it , but location should had to be a lot more prepared , poor management .. read more

When I told her the wax was too hot she just continued to keep waxing me without saying anything. Just ok...I went in for an eyebrow wax, the lady at the front desk was nice but my waxer was not friendly at all, barely said a word to me. My eyebrows turned out ok, with no redness which is awesome, but she left pieces of the cotton pad on my face and some wax in my baby hairs. I would go back, but only with a different person. Chelsea is awesome! I've gotten two Brazilians from her so far and she does an AMAZING job. Every other time I've gotten a Brazilian (which is 15+ times), I've had some sort of rash or bumps, ingrown hairs, or some missed spots, but Chelsea's work has ended up perfect each time. She is friendly, quick, and thorough and will pleasantly chat with you to distract you from the pain. Highly recommend her! read more

The place itself is nice and clean and the front desk ladies were super nice but the lady that gave me my brazilian wax was not friendly at all. first of all, she never introduced herself or smiled at all. she didn't leave the room when I got undressed which I thought was a little weird and they didn't have a smock or anything for me to wear which also was a little weird. she was hasty and rough and the wax was really hot. in my opinion, if you need a brazilian wax, go somewhere else. they don't seem to value their clients and the odds of me going back there are slim to none. read more
