I went to this European Wax Center the day before my trip. I listed my facial actives when I made the appointment and had stopped them a week prior. Still, I was refused service and told I needed a doctor's note upon arrival. Or to be off actives for 30 days. This has never been an issue before at any other location. First time at the Laurel location. I usually go to College Park or Silver Spring. I had to scramble and get my brows threaded elsewhere that night. I asked for the manager's contact and called the next day to express my frustration. I explained everything. She said the waxer was a new employee. I told her I'd sign a waiver of liability if needed, but I wasn't stopping my actives for longer than a week nor bringing in a doctor's note. I also asked to use my now expired birthday coupon beyond the expiration date and my request was honored. I went back after my trip for my eyebrows to be cleaned up as they were still in good shape from getting them threaded three weeks ago. Smooth appointment until checkout, when the front desk staff tried to charge me. I reminded her it was supposed to be complimentary, gave the manager's name who booked the appointment, and had her verify it. Apparently there were no notes in my appointment. There were other customers in the waiting room. Awkward. What if the manager hadn't answered the call? It would have been my word with no backing and an embarrassment. While this location is convenient, I'm not sure I will frequent it. Two out of two visits have required calling the manager. Not a welcoming experience. read more

Covid has really changed our very way of life, but in some cases, things have definitely changed for the better. European Wax Center has definitely streamlined their check-in and checkout process. Everything is done electronically now, no need for unnecessary paper. I hope all of these changes stand in place indefinitely. I normally visit either the Columbia or Pikesville centers, but I noticed this location one day while on my lunch break so I decided to give them a try. The staff at this location, the same as the others, is super friendly and very pleasant. I was seen by Gloria and she is absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend her if you plan on visiting this location and don't have a permanent waxer. read more

Friendly staff here but unfortunately that's where the positives end. I have been here twice. They open at 9 AM and I schedule my visits at 9:15 AM. Both times they have run really behind. I had to leave without any of my services this last time after waiting for 20 minutes past my appointment time. When I asked the front desk staff how much longer it would be, they said my waxer was still with the previous client. How do they run so far behind so early in the day? This location has a five minute late show policy which is irritating given how much they run behind. The policy states that if I show up five minutes or later for my scheduled time, I will not be seen. The last time I was there I had a brazillian. The waxer was very nice but she left me with a chunk missing out of part of the strip and she pinched my skin with the tweezers a couple of times. I bought a wax pass but I can't bring myself to return to this location. I will try Columbia instead. read more

Marissa G. Was great !!! This was my second time in this location. I warned Marissa that I am a complete baby when it comes to wax time. I get super anxiety and it's usually downhill from there. But she was really patient with me and counted down for me everytime we got to a hard part. She let me babble on while i was on the table and made me feel really uncomfortable. Well I was burnt by one of the technicians who waxed over me over 6-8 times an know I didn't know that was bad until the manager MeMe told me. I really can't believe they didn't reach back out or to see if i was ok. As I set back just to see if they would. What make me upset is two visits prior to this visit they waited unt my next schedule appointment they accuse me of doing a charge back in front of other customers or while other customers can hear and MeMe made sure she called her general manager on me in the store trying or thought they were exposing me NEVER. I usually have fairly good experiences here and have been going there to this location for a while now. I went to go book my appointment and received information that there are no children or strollers allowed. I am extremely frustrated with that. I am a new mom with an infant and have no one to watch my daughter. What are people supposed to do? That is not right. I usually frequent the Columbia location for bikini waxes but I thought I would try the semi-new location, in Laurel. I made a huge mistake! My appointment was with a lead esthetician (her name was Dorian) and my appointment at was 2:45p but Dorian was not available until 3:05. I felt that was unacceptable. If I'm on time she should be on time. I next asked to speak to a Manager but was immediately informed by Cara (who did her best to accommodate the situation) that they currently didn't have a manager. Her co-worker Alssata (simply ratchet) should be fired on the spot. She was extremely unprofessional and lacked basic communication skills. The owner was called (Deepa) who offered a $10 discount for the inconvenience which I declined because it's not always about money. I think respect & decency are often undervalued in the service industry. I walked out upset and immediately called the Columbia location to check for availability but they were booked. This place seems like they truly hire people and don't train them in customer service. The staff here is like a little girls club. They're rude, petty and act like you're disturbing them for coming to have services. They don't answer the phone and if one staff member doesn't like you, all of the staff act rude. It's so sad. This has to be an individually owned European Wax because one in the franchise would NEVER. No professionalism and YOU WILL NOT have a consistent wax specialist. That's how quickly people leave here. So glad I found this place online. Online booking was SUPER easy. I got to pick my location, see all the specialists that were available and what their availability was, so I knew who I was going to, before even getting there. The location was very easy to find and there was ample parking. There was someone to greet me and sign me in for my appointment. I had an appointment and did not have to wait at all, due to COVID there are a few chairs outside in the event that appointments are running over and people have to wait a bit. I had Gloria as my specialist and she did a wonderful job. She was patient, understanding, and sensitive to my needs. I also loved that she educated me about everything that she was doing and using on my skin. This was my first time at a European Wax Center and I absolutely would recommend. read more

i was in on friday last week for my brazillian and the wax was wonderful, but when i was waiting in the lobby i heard the manager talking to the girls working the front about a waxer recently leaving and how she had no plans to process any package refunds until after their 30 day mark, ensuring that you would not be able to get your money back, and any balance remaining on the package would turn into store credit. I think the packages are a wonderful way to save but i would be cautious purchasing from this location in the future as now i'm concerned that if i were to need to cancel mine i would be given the run around until its past the cancellation period. I did notice that they you sign a contract when you sign up for the package and i advise anyone who does purchase a package from this location to ask for a copy for themselves, and if you need to cancel it go in store to cancel to ensure that it is canceled. read more

Right when walking in they're able to ask screening questions, I love how safe that they're being with staff and customers. Also, GLORIA IS AMAZING!!!!! I absolutely love her. She is so quick and efficient I feel like she already knows how I want to look before I even have to say anything. My first time at EWC was a great experience. I was able to get an appointment in less than 10 mins when I called and got the best esthetician ever! JC was very educated in what she does. I mentioned to her that I am using a product for ingrowing hair & spots due to my last esthetician from another waxing center (not EWC) and she made sure she did a test strip before fully waxing me. I am also sensitive to the heat of the wax and she made sure I was comfortable. I was afraid to get waxed by someone new due to all the bad experiences I had elsewhere but JC made me feel so comfortable and the waxing experience was PAINLESS. I'm so happy I had her as my waxer! I literally been to over 4 different locations (not EWC) and each one was horrible experience between the waxer burning me, tweezing TOO much, breaking hair, leaving hair behind, causing ingrown etc, but JC .... she was the BEST i ever had. This was my first time at this EWC location and I had a great experience. I'd just moved to the area and was so nervous about trying a new location that I was driving almost 30 miles to see my wax specialist at a different location. I couldn't keep making the drive because I'm now very pregnant (38 weeks) so finally I decided to try out the Laurel location. I called in for a same day appointment and they scheduled me with Gloria. My wax pass worked without any problems. Gloria was so welcoming and gentle with me. She made me feel very comfortable and my wax was as pain free as it could get. I'm so glad I decided to try this location and so thankful I got Gloria as my wax specialist. This is by far the best location I have visited, even after moving from the area and trying other locations. I can't ever leave my waxologist Rachel aka Ashley because she turned my whole waxing experience around. I went to this location before, which traumatized me because the waxer and I were both new. But once I got Rachel, she eased the whole experience to the point that I've convinced all my friends to start getting waxed regularly. Horrible service. They don't follow protocol calls them get upset with the customer for showing up because they are not consistent with how they do there services. I came to European Wax Center to get a Brazilian wax done for the first time. And I was just disappointed with how my wax specialist, Marisa, postponed my appointment by an hour and a different wax specialist, Makala, waxed me. She didn't do a thorough job with the waxing either. There were still patches of hair on my skin and some wax was still on my body. It seemed like my wax specialist didn't want to wax me so it was an awkward time for me and I'm never returning here. read more

Second there was no other patron in the area and last did i mention it's cold outside. That's strange. I mean I understand covid restrictions but there was no one in the area except the reception and she's very well protected. I've always had issues with getting my eyebrows waxed at nail salons since they use strip wax, so I decided to try European Wax Center to see if the experience there would be better. I was scheduled with Andi and we instantly clicked. She walked me through the whole process and made me feel super at ease. She is amazing at shaping my overplucked and under styled brows! I was able to save money by getting a package of waxes. I definitely recommend this location (parking can be tough during Christmas time) and highly recommend Andi! read more

I've been 3 times (2 different wax specialists) and decided to just stop wasting my money at that location. She is very particular about her work and only delivers the best quality, which she is most capable of. I never leave her unsatisfied. Let me start out by saying that my wax specialist was the most kind and friendly person you could ask for to be your waxer. That's why I won't be blasting her name out here. She was so easy going and laid back yet professional. She made you completely forget that you are exposing your lady bits to a complete stranger. She was also finished before the 15 min, which is impressive as the store has only been open a couple months. Unfortunately however, I have never experienced such poor results after a waxing and I have been waxing consistently for years and by many different techs inside and outside of EWC. To begin, not all my hair was removed, I had quite a bit left over, which is unusual because I'm a frequent waxer and really don't have much left at this point. Not a huge deal, it happens they have a 7 day touch up policy. What I couldn't "touch up" however was the incredibly irritated skin I had covering the entire waxing area. Never in my life have I had so many ingrowns and little white bumps. I look like that cookies and cream Hershey bar meme all over my private area. Not cute! It's not just ugly tho, the skin is very inflamed and irritated even a week later. No amount of exfoliating or ingrown hair wipes can help. To top it off my hair started growing back just 3 days in because the hair was broken off, not removed at the root. I could have done that shaving for free at home. After I recover I may try again with another tech. However, one of the front desk girls really rubbed me the wrong way, but don't even get me started on her...so we will see. I really want to like this location because it is so close to my house. I was recommended to try Tanika I believe her name is. I was told she has had waxing experience prior to this store opening. I am hoping for better results with her! read more

EWC is my wax home for life! I started visiting EWC about a year ago and I promise, I was SO nervous and overall kind of hesitant to trust someone else with my body. However, upon meeting my ONLY and favorite wax specialist, Raquel, my opinion and attitude towards waxing completely shifted. Raquel is one of the friendliest specialists I've ever encountered in life; not only does she make great conversation, but she also loves what she does, which makes us clients' experience even more worthwhile. Each time I visit, Raquel makes sure that her client's satisfaction and comfortability are her and EWCs top priority. She also keeps things clean, professional and gets the perfect job done in a timely manner. I could literally go on all day about Raquel and EWC.
