I usually love my wax visits at EWC (I get brazilians) but this experience was sub par at best. I guess it's on me for choosing a random waxer, but I am visiting from out of town so I didn't know who would be good at this location. Walked out of there with wax still stuck to various parts of my bikini line and did 4 strips max when my usual wax lady does around 6 to be thorough and get in between the folds. She didn't seem to care and just wanted to get me in and out. She also seemed like she was having trouble gripping the wax and pulling it off, it was tugging at my skin a lot. I have had an amazing experience when it comes to the waxers at European Wax. However, when I go to cash out it is constantly an unpleasant experience, so much that I have decided to go to a different company for my monthly waxes. Receptionist cannot take no for an answer when presenting me with the packages and deals. Even when explaining that I often go to other places for my waxes I was met with an abondance of attitude. When a group of people are in the waiting room I do not want to be questioned over and over and over again as to why I will not be purchasing a package. I understand that franchises have to make a sale and there are quotas that employees have to hit but you should never be pushing a customer especially once they are apparently uncomfortable. I do not have this issue at South Beach Wax or other smaller establishments and have found it more enjoyable there. read more

I used to love this place but every time I get used to a waxer, they leave. I tried out Deanna today, big mistake. I try to avoid writing mean reviews but she was SO RUDE to me, I hated it. She did a nice job on my eyebrows, but she criticized them the whole time. She asked how often I get them done in a condescending manner, and I explained that I try to do four weeks but I hadn't gotten them done in awhile due to lack of time and money. She again, in a condescending manner said, "I can tell. These things have no shape and are really hard to work with." and then said "you're done", and I left. Won't return to her. Appointment: it was super easy to get an appointment. Online is easier but if you want to specify something, give them a call. They are great in response. Experience: I went for my first full bikini wax. I read the recitals decided to go with Veronica. She is really good. She made me feel super comfortable and explained on each step. I went to get a full leg. I was greeted by the front lady. I told the lady that did my waxing this was my first time being waxed. The lady maybe said 10 sentences. Most was "move your leg this way and to turn over." Very unpleasant for a beginner. When she said I was done, there was a lot of little pieces of wax on my legs. I questioned her about them and she just said I needed to take a shower. I took the biggest pieces off and throw them in the trash before putting my pants back on. When I got home, I looked over my legs and saw that I had a strip of hair on the outsides of both legs. I will not be coming back here even though it is right next to my home. read more

I've been waxed at many different places and this experience was hands down the worst ever. I met with Ashley for brows, lip, and Brazilian. I asked her to leave my brows thick and just clean them up. Instead she reshaped them and made them much thinner. She also left my left eyebrow bleeding. There was no trimming or tweezing of my brows so when I got home I had to tweeze the leftover hairs myself. When I got in my car I noticed there was still a big glob of wax on my upper lip. After my face was the Brazilian. I am no stranger to Brazilians but this was the most painful ever. At one point she got the two sides stuck together and had to pull both strips simultaneously. OW! It seemed to take her a long time so I was expecting a thorough job. But when I got home and was able to inspect I realized she left two large patches of hair and tons of wax. My butt cheeks were nearly stuck together! I wound up having to shave my bikini area which completely defeats the purpose of waxing. I've visited multiple European Wax Centers in Cincinnati and Southern California. I've never had a really exceptional waxing experience, but this was the final straw. I will NOT be returning to any EWCs. read more

I've been to this location twice now, and had a very good experience both times. The beauty of this place is threefold: 1. I feel like no matter what you are having done, you are in and out in less than 30 minutes. These ladies work FAST. 2. You can't beat the price- a Brazilian anywhere else starts around $75- and it's $42 here! 3. The wax they use does NOT hurt half as much as the strip wax they use at other places. I got my legs waxed today and didn't even flinch! The only downside to European Wax is that it is painfully clear that these girls get sales commission or some incentive to push EW's skincare products. I can appreciate that to an extent- girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do and all- but they start in pretty much the second you get on the table wanting to know if you have the "proper products" or "oh I see you have some ingrowns, we have a serum for that." Just be prepared to say a firm no if you don't want to buy anything other than your wax. Staff here is friendly, place is clean and you'll be in and out in a flash. read more

I got my first ever wax (a Brazilian) this morning and Marcie is an absolute angel. It barely hurt (not at all what I was expecting) and she was nice, quick, and hygienic. She had a trainee with her (of course asked if I was okay with it first) and talked through exactly how to do the wax as well as why she did things how she did, plus her own personal tips. Let me start by saying this was my first experience getting waxed at this establishment and my first professional Brazilian and leg waxing. I booked online, which made things easy enough. I even had the business call to confirm my appointment twice prior to coming in, which I thought was a nice thing to do! When I got to the appointment, I let the front desk person know I would not need my eyebrows waxed that evening like I had stated online when I booked, as I had just gotten Ombre' Powder Brows earlier that day. She was very nice, pleasant and welcoming, and she told me no problem! When I got to the back, my technician (is that what she's called?) was very nice, and ready to get down to business. She said we could start with the eyebrows, and I informed her as well that I would not need that service today because I had just gotten powder brows earlier that day. The technician was very nice, talked to me the whole time, but the process did seem kind of rushed (legs and Braizilian). I didn't think anything of it because she said she had been doing this for 3 years, and I thought she works fast because she has been doing this for so long that she is efficient. Overall, the discomfort wasn't pleasant, but the conversation with the tech made the process seem a little easier, and it was over before I knew it. When I went to pay, the front desk person told me the total, which was about $45 more than I had estimated. I was told when I confirmed my appointment that my first Brazilian was free, and since I didn't get my eyebrows done I deducted the $20 from my estimation, as well. The front desk lady then told me that the Brazilian was only half price as a first timer (not what I was told), and I just went with it because there were like 2 other people standing there, and I felt rushed. I ended up just paying, not looking at my itemized receipt because the lady was trying to up-sell me a wax package, and my mind was not focused. Anyway, when I finally looked at my receipt later I realized I was in fact charged for a wax I never received. I probably would have let that go, honestly, BUT upon further inspection of my wax job, I am STILL covered in hair. And by covered in hair, I don't mean the hairs that were too short to wax. I mean like there are complete patches of hair on my legs, outer vulva, and the back of the Brazilian that are an inch long and were completely MISSED. After realizing this, I emailed EWC the next day, and I called the particular establishment. The girls took a message and said the manager wasn't in, but she would have her call me the next day. That was on a Thursday. The manager did NOT call me back on Friday. I gave her the weekend, and she still has not called me back, and today is Thursday of the following week. I called again last night, and the woman who answered said the manager was busy and took another message. Long story short, I will not return to this particular center, if any at all. I definitely do not appreciate being charged for a service I did not receive, but in addition, with the poor job that was done on my wax I don't feel like I should have to pay full price for that either. I can understand at least half because half of my hair was removed, but to be honest this was handled SO unprofessionally. I will be calling again, and I will update when I get a solution. read more

I have been coming to European wax for a few years . My experience in the beginning was good and it was convenient . All good things come to an end . The customer service is not good at all . If the specialist you normally see should be scheduled off unexpectedly on the day you scheduled you are not notified . i Was scheduled twice with a random individual and declined both. waxing is personal experience and should be handled more delicately. I received a card in the mail for free brow wax for new client so I decided to try them out. I stopped by to find out more information and made an appointment. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. Taylor provided my service and she also offered suggestions which was nice. I always appreciate that. I found their to still be some lingering fine/light hairs around my eyebrows that I wish they'd gotten but they are stubborn. I've been going to European Wax for a while, but I've always gone to the one on Beechmont in Anderson. I've always had a great experience. I love that they ask me what I'm looking for because I like mine more natural so I don't have to keep up with it as a busy college student. This time there wasn't any openings there so I came to this one. The girl I had, I believe her name was Kay, rather than asking me what I was looking for spent that time complaining about her mask she had to wear. She starts going to town and all the while says at least 5 times how much she can't wait to get out of work and how happy she is to not be working tomorrow. She's 19 and clearly not experienced enough to be working here. I have never had my eyebrows look so bad. I cried the entire way home. One is super thin, very high arch but not bad. The other, however, is entirely straight. Not curved at all. Worse than that THERE IS A HOLE IN THE MIDDLE! She's tweezed the direct middle of my eyebrow. I've never been so disappointed and honestly I hope she doesn't get to do it to anyone else. read more

It was just soooo awkward. I was going to review this hairfree zone of beauty and European culture but am unable. It would be good if the stars would have an abstain choice but like life they force a choice even if it is the one you don't want to make. Body hair and me are not really fans of each other inspite of the way it looks from time to time. As this is so close to where I work I thought this is completely doable and after all it is "European" so how could this not be good? I stopped in after work and there I was. Standing, fiddling, standing on one foot and then the other. No one was there, the door was open, lights were on...I thought they must be in the back. Maybe they are with a client. Maybe they are in the ladies room. Then after more time passed I was thinking maybe I should go. Not wanting to be rude, I waited some more, I thought what if they come out as I am leaving and they will think I am being impatient. There was no bell on the door, no discrete door opening chime and no bell on the counter. Even the "Yoohoo! Anybody home" did not work so I left, quietly as I did not want to create a ruckus. I don't want to trash them as I suspect they are 5 star very, very good. Their reviews and reputation say they are and I have brows that are just too much and need weeding. I was hoping we'd have a mutual interest in my brows being less than what they are but that night was not to be the night. I don't blame the staff either. If I was there and it is when business is slow I understand. If my "Yoohoo anyone home" did not cut it that is fine too. I was very timid about it, not really wanting to call attention to myself but needing too. It was awkward. I hope they go and pick up a small desk bell like my doctor has. It is simple and does not cost very much. Much cheaper than a door chime and more effective than a "Yoohoo". I actually went to the new European Wax in Rookwood; however I'm fairly certain they don't vary much from location to location. This place was very clean, cheap, quick and they got the job done, which is all I expect when I get a Brazilian. If you want a pampered experience, you should probably go somewhere else. If you're looking to be in and out, this place is a winner. The girl who waxed me was very friendly (but not obnoxiously) and while I'm sure they are told they have to mention their products, she wasn't that pushy about it. I have been going here for years and never had a problem. The past few months I have had nothing but issues regarding scheduling or lack thereof. Honestly, the only reason I have stayed is because of my fabulous waxer Whitney. Just seems like the front office has fallen apart. I have had my appointments canceled, booked at the wrong time or for the wrong services and rarely receive a confirmation call. If I received a call the day prior (like it used to be) I would have known the issues prior to my arrival. Today was my first time ever getting a Brazilian, so obviously I was a little nervous. I wasn't sure what to expect. But let me tell you, my waxer, Megan, did an amazing job. Obviously there were some spots that hurt, but a lot of it was virtually painless. She wasn't super pushy about purchasing products, which was great. I ended up buying the 12 wax package (but 9 get 3 free, and my first wax was half off). Totally worth every cent, if you're nervous about getting a Brazilian, don't be! It's worth it. I went today and got two services which lasted about 35 minutes or so. Bridget was my waxer and she was very friendly, very fast. I'll definitely go back and see her. The wax was pretty cool - they don't have to use a paper cloth to pull it off. The wax 'is' the cloth. I could definitely tell a difference as far as pain goes (much less painful). I feel like their prices are very fair, the facility is nice and clean, and making reservations online is a snap. Only thing I was a little meh about was when you call in the girls who answer the phone are not very warm. Probably because they're so busy, but still. I have been to the European Wax Center in Mason twice and have an appointment to go back. I LOVE Megan! My first appointment was brows, second was my whole face. The wax is so much better than strips. My face stung a little, but it was the first time so I totally understand. I have never had a long wait time when checking in.
