The front desk staff is incredibly rude. Also, desert ridge is so hard to get through when it's busy. I would never go back.

I have gone to this Wax Center for over 3 years and love the staff and the location is great. However, as I lay on the table for my services, the ceiling and light fixtures are filthy and have been for months. I have mentioned it before but nothing is done about it. There is such filth, it's, dust, etc. in them and for an area that should be clean, it is not. The quality of service is always great. I will not be back until they clean up the place. Again, this is not about the services, just the filthy ceilings. I am told the owner and managers live out of state. So what, come visit your business. read more

Birthday eyebrow disaster D; The girl I had, I believe her name was Ashley (very short dark coiled hair) was unprofessional. Her phone kept vibrating throughout the whole process and she would check it and be on it while at the the wax warmer pot. She made each eyebrow a completely different shape and then tried to fill them in with powder which also looked horrible. I'm not sure if she was new to this but for $21 dollars I got my eyebrows messed up and she was distracted by her phone. I could have gone to Walmart to get them done for $7 and they would have looked better. But on top of that, she was blaming me for not telling her what I wanted. I wanted a shape and clean up around. Regardless, she took off WAY more on one than the other. They're not even. The top brow line starts off straight and then dips down to another line. The start of both brows are not parallel to each other. My eyebrows were closer to each other ( naturally at the brow bone line) and now there's a huge gap (pushed further apart) Completely upset but luckily hair grows back but I'm disappointed since I got them done for my birthday. I figured I'd pay a little more at a nicer place. The receptionists in the front seemed like they were annoyed and did not genuinely care about my experience or the results. I tried to keep my cool because I don't like to make people feel bad especially if it's her skills I'm dissatisfied with but I could not hold back, I was about to cry. I just wanted to leave. And I still gave her over 20% tip. No one should ever come in with decent eyebrows and leave with butchered eyebrows. read more

I had a reservation at 2:15pm that I made at 1pm today. Saw my confirmation email and it was set for the location inside desert ridge. I called back to let them know the google number is wrong but I guess Tatum and Shea location closed down so all their calls are being transferred to them. Cool, I asked to change my reservation to 2:30 because it is a bit farther from my current location. Whoever the hell answered my phone call said that it was okay. GPS took me to the stores inside the desert ridge plaza, I called at 2:30 and was on hold for about 5-6 minutes and asked them where in desert ridge are they located because I couldn't find them and told them my reservation is at 2:30 I'm gonna be late I'm so sorry she said it was totally fine and that they could take me in. GREAT I get inside to check in and they wouldn't take me in because I was late. It was totally understandable but I was trying to explain to the blonde girl that you guys said it was still okay to come in? She was talking under her breath all softly saying that the other receptionist talked to me while she's clearly busy with a customer. Like okay but I'm not understanding why would you say yes to me when it was clearly a no and she just kept saying "you talked to her" Older lady with the glasses asked if I was alexis and I wasn't and said she kept calling me back to explain I couldn't be seen due to me being late. I told her I understand but you guys told me over the phone I was okay to come in. The nice lady with the glasses said "well I didn't answer that phone call". So fuck me right? I was just sooo confused because I just got off the phone with whoever the fuck I talked to and they said it was okay to come in. The lady with the glasses said "even if you had a 2:30 reservation you were still considered late" as if I was lying about rescheduling. I totally understand the situation but completely shocked that those two were your receptionists lol bad multitasking, finger pointing and no team work shown at all. I'm sad and confused. Because from the way I was treated I assume no one changed my 2:15 to 2:30 even when I got email confirmations and whoever answered my 2:30 call was lying about it being okay to still come in. But no one had the balls to tell me that lol I get you guys are busy but Don't tell your customers one thing for it to be a totally different story 7 minutes later lol Just awkward with a lobby filled with people. read more

I have had several bad experiences getting waxed at other salons in the past and i told myself that if this time didn't work out i would just give it up BUT i had the most pleasant time getting waxed by Luna here. They were sooo fun and really guided me through the process. Any kind of service like this is really intimate imo and Luna took great care to make sure i was comfortable and felt safe and respected. They asked before touching, checked in with me the whole time and honestly seemed trauma informed which is seriously so important in a career like this. They also clearly kept their station very clean and sanitary which is important to me as well. i will definitely be a regular with them!!!! Tried to call and speak to manager and Christine to express my dissatisfaction but I guess no one cares. Not even a return phone call. The front desk staff was so snotty . So disappointed. They said , "the notes here says someone called you ". I tried to show her the message in my phone but she didn't want to read it. Didn't care. I really enjoy waxing at this center because the service is excellent, have late hours and you can get in the same day. I wrote a pretty harsh review before, but I wanted to update that and do my part to show what a great business this is. I spoke to the store manager Amanda today and she was super appreciative that I let her know what our problem was. She said they are working diligently to correct the issue and put the right policies in place to protect minors and their technicians from being alone with minors. Not only am I super impressed with this resolution, I am SUPER impressed with Amanda. Customer service is a lost art, but Amanda wasn't afraid to enter into a situation where there was conflict. She listened. She apologized. She cared and she worked to fix the issue. I don't know the last time that someone has gone out of their way to rectify a problem like Amanda did. Also, a huge shout out to the District Manager/Director of Operations, Kari - she was key in working towards a solution. Because of how this staff handled themselves and the situation, we will definitely be customers for life. Thank you Amanda! Keep doing great things! read more

I've had two really good experiences here recently. My first time ever was a brow wax with Christine and I had zero complaints. It was nice that they actually fill in your brows before you leave. It makes it feel like a more complete service. My second time here recently was for a Brazilian that was scheduled with Nikki. I called and was given a same day appointment which is really convenient! Nikki actually made me laugh a couple times during the service and I so appreciated her calm and very friendly attitude. They definitely push the products they sell but I don't ever mind getting product recommendations! Overall I'm super pleased with both times I've come here. read more

I have been waiting for management to return my phone call for a month. I had purchased a bundle of eyebrow wax treatments. I was very happy with my aesthetician. However, for my last visit I was given a new aesthetician. She burned my skin and it was ripped off when the wax was taken off. During the session I notified the aesthetician that it was burning. Her response was "oh, you're the only one who has complained today". I called and let them know immediately. They said they would have someone call me back. A month later no one has called me. I am so impressed with the professionalism, safety measures and services at the European Wax Center at the Desert Ridge location. I was very apprehensive about having such personal services done due to the current Covid 19 situation. However, my appointment was scheduled with Samantha. The CR on phone was very informative and reassuring regarding safeguards put into place for my safety. Upon arrival I waited in my car as requested to wait for a text. I was notified in short order and was met by Samantha who was clearly taking many precautions, wearing mask and face shield. There were no other customers in the waiting area. I was taken back to the service are without any encounters. Once there Samantha added gloves and explained how she was using PPE equipment and how that would help protect me.
