I was the. approached and asked to consider another color (no reason given). I asked what brand it was and was told not to worry about the brand. I said that I preferred OPI and would stick to my selection. I ah e no idea what that was about, but it was strange that they are pushing another brand and wouldn't disclose brand. Manicure wasn't as thorough as I care for. The sides of my nails were painted. It's always best to go to the same person over time so they do a thorough job. Very friendly and clean. I would go back in a pinch but prefer so done that takes the time to paint my entire nail and file with finesse. read more

First the positives. The salon is very bright, clean, and modern. I loved how the polish was organized by color. It really helped to find what you were looking for. The nail technician bragged to me the entire time about how wonderful she was but my dipped nails looked uneven. Within four days several of them broke. I very rarely ever break my nails, so this was a surprise. I would not recommend going there. My dipped nails did not even last a week and now I'm going to have to go elsewhere and get them redone. read more

I went in to salon and there was a man and woman servicing people. I worked with the woman. Everything was going well and I thought she was fast and did an ok job. I thought that this would be a great place to come to in the future. About a week later my nail started cracking and I came back to have it redone. This is where it went sideways and she yelled at me for causing the cracks in the dipped nail. (I have had dipped nails for years and only once did they crack.). Anyway, it was a really negative and bad experience. She said I should probably never return. As if it was my fault that the nail cracked after one week. She fixed them but was pretty angry the whole time. Life is too short. read more

It's been quite some time since I've been here. I started doing my nails myself With the glue ons! Well, I decided to pamper myself a bit, and I remembered I really liked this place before so came back to try it out again. Hollie did my nails and they are awesome! I couldn't decide what I wanted so I ledt it up to her. I said something bright and fun. She did not disappoint with her neon pink ombre and flower with gems accent nail! I went with the coffin shape and I am so in love. I plan to take a break from the glue ons for a bit and continue with getting my nails done. Nail salons in Scottsdale/Cave Creek are a dime a dozen-I'm sure keeping up with the competition is a regular battle for these places. Hollie Nails does a great job without coming across like they are trying too hard. They are genuine people and know how to give great customer service! I live out of town and they remember me each visit- and living on the other side of the country means my visits are sporadic to say the least! The place is CLEAN and fresh looking. Their polish selection is on point- they seem to have the latest and greatest of everything. I've gotten my brows done here as well and was happy with this service as well. Definitely worth a shot- they do a nice job, the technicians are professional and skilled! Very friendly and informative. I called at about 12:30 inquiring about availability for a 2pm Appt for a basic pedi and dip mani. I'm aware it was last minute but you either have the availability or you don't. Hollie asked me to come at 4 which was too late for me so I said thanks anyway. She called and texted a few minutes later telling me to go ahead and come at 2. I responded stating I would be there. I arrived early, picked my colors, and waited. And waited some more. I needed to be done by 3:15pm to pick up kids from school and told Hollie as such when she finally came over to start my manicure at 2:30pm, after I had sat waiting for 30 minutes. She said it was fine and that she and her husband would work at the same time to get me done in time. Well, they certainly got me out by 3:15 but at a cost. I stated I wanted a dip manicure as thin as the nails as I came in with. Hollie said she always does it thin, that she's good and she's fast. I believed her. She set to work then eventually her husband started on my pedi. Both were meh. The pedi was very quick and I got maybe a cumulative 3 mins massage between both feet/legs. The paint looked chipped as soon as I got home thanks to no toe separators being used. My mani was quick, painful when grinding/filing as she kept hitting my skin, and looks less than desirable in its finished state. Some sides of my nails sit higher than others and it looks caked on around the cuticles. I asked if it would be thinner than it was only for Hollie to repeatedly tell me it was thin, like she was trying to convince me. It wasn't as thick as some places I've been, but definitely wasn't as thin as I requested when I showed her what I walked in with. It was a total rush job, not relaxing or pleasant at all, and I don't appreciate being told I could be fit in only to wait wait 30 minutes then be cranked out in a churn them and burn them style production line. As I was waiting, more people (with appointments!) kept walking in and were made to wait while the only two people working in the place squeezed me in. Not sure it was worth squeezing me in just to produce a bad job and a bad review for the money they made. I won't be back. read more

I am hesitant to give two stars when really I believe it should be 1.5 stars. I went in on a weekend several weeks ago now, and there were only two people working. I called ahead and scheduled an appointment ahead of time. There was a man that did pedicures (I'm assuming co-owner) and woman that did manicures (owner - I believe she called herself Hollie). The pedicure was pretty good. Easy going, as expected, and didn't try to upsell me, which I always appreciate. He applied polish meticulously which I appreciate because I am a nail perfectionist. The reason for such a low rating is the manicure. I have been doing gel manicures for years, so I feel comfortable with the process and know what to expect. NOT HERE. She used the drill to shave off the polish and then grabbed cuticle clippers to RIP OFF the rest of the polish. I could see my NAIL going with it!! I told her it hurt and that I had not seen people do that before. She said she's been doing nails for years and knew what she was doing and completely disregarded my concern. I've been getting my nails done every two weeks for at least the last five years and this was by far, the WORST manicure I have ever had. She was rude, it hurt, and the polish was SO CLUMPY. She added FIVE COATS of color, which I think was to make up for how uneven my nail was from her RIPPING the previous polish off. It's a shame that this man who does good work has this woman as a partner. She was rude and not professional. I wanted to like this place and always try to give people a second chance, but this is a place I would NOT return to, even if it was free. read more

I was really disappointed that John accepted a repair during my appointment. He said absolutely NOTHING to me. Did not ask if I had somewhere to go and not even an "excuse me." I was left half done for half an hour whilst the repair was done. I might also mention that I made 3x 9.30am appointments and on each occasion he and his wife did not arrive at the salon til well after 10.00 am. Again no apology or explanation given. We loved this place! We gave it a try today for the first time. We made an appointment to be safe, since it was the weekend. They were great about sitting us down on time and not letting others without appointments jump us. If you do walk in and it's busy, there's a pizza place or a tavern right by there to kill some time. My sister and I both got dip manicures. I got silver glitter and my sister actually got a glow in the dark one. Hollie was the one that actually did my nails. She was AMAZING. I had never gotten dip done before, so she explained the entire process to me along the way. Both of our nails turned out super nice! Hollie told us that the dip nails typically last a month. This is my first experience with Hollie Nails as I was going to a competitor for 5 years. The competitor was good but recently my dipped nails were breaking after a week. The nail tech blamed me for why they were breaking. When I spoke with Hollie she indicated that her nails would last at least a month so I decided to make an appointment. I had a great experience at Hollie Nails. The place is clean, the staff was nice, they were on time with their appointment plus my nails look outstanding. It's been 2 weeks since I had my nails done and not a crack or a chip and they are growing out beautifully. They have a ton of colors to choose from. My pedicure was outstanding as well. The elder lady didn't push cuticles back on all toes and only painted half my nail. After telling her she painted it once as if I was wrong. For over 25 years I have worn everything from acrylic to gel to tips...you name it, I've tried it. I am so happy I came in that day to Hollie's salon. I will never go anywhere else. The dip nails are AMAZING and Hollie and her staff are experts. I have never had such strong, long wearing, natural looking nails before. But, even better the color options and styles are endless. Hollie is very sweet and friendly and helpful when it comes to picking our fun nail designs and colors. I've learned that they are almost always running behind the scheduled time they told you you would be helped. Whether I've made appts in advance, walked in, I've spent over an hour waiting at times. The location convenience was part of why I liked but being a mom of a toddler can't afford to take over over an hour plus to the time it takes to get a mani/pedi. I think to keep your customers coming back you have to be able to say no at times to prioritize those who have planned ahead. I think she means well by wanting to provide service to customers but would be better off erring on the side of caution when and allotting adequate time to customers and setting up front expectations if there is a wait or a r/s would be best. It builds trust with the clients and when we love the service you provide we will come back even if we get turned down for an appt and need to plan ahead more. read more
