Excellent place to stay large rooms with all the comforts of home. Walmart and other shopping place down the street.

When I made my reservation, they only had a king suite with a Jacuzzi but upon check-in they had a double bed available so I appreciated that. I was on the third floor, 331 so anybody with an odd number room can see the lovely flashing neon CASINO sign. My room was nice and cool upon entering and it smelled nice. Did my usual inspection, sprayed the bed I'd sleep in with Lysol and all was good. There were a couple black ants near the sink in the bathroom and someone else's hair on the shower curtain but nothing too major. The bed was pretty comfortable, four small, soft but firm pillows instead of the usual queen bed pillows. The begging was nice as well, no stains and kept me warm because the air set on 75 felt like 62 to me lol I like it warm. The staff, particularly the housekeepers and the ladies in the breakfast room, which was included from 6-10am. It was a typical continental breakfast that featured, pastries, hot and cold cereal, fruit and waffle stations, blueberry and regular as well as bacon or sausage and eggs. The ladies at breakfast were so accommodating, kept everything refilled and didn't turn away folks even after closing. The room for breakfast was small so there was always a line or a wait at any given time. The housekeeper's spoke everytime you pass them. My room was well stocked with ampel towels and the featured toiletries were from Paya, which I'd never heard of but they smelled nice. The hotel was booming with people but I didn't hear too many complaints from other guest. I'd definitely stay here again.. SN: I went to the casino with my cousins just to check it out and it was a smoke filled old school floor, no live tables, live music in the bar and a free drink (soda, coffee) not liquor station.

The staff makes this hotel better in my opinion. Very friendly and seem genuine. We didnt use the pool, but it looked a bit green to me. The gym could use a little more variety, and the casino smelled like smoke, but what casino doesn't?

Rust in bath tub. I'm actually writing this because of a safety issue. I went to call the front desk and discovered that the handset cord was not connected to the handset and was broken, there was NO cord connecting the phone to the wall. This is a huge safety risk! Front desk apologized and said they would let the manager know. Will not be staying there again.

The carpets hadn't been cleaned in days and during our stay they didn't make the beds, provide new towels. or clean the carpets. They did empty the trash. The bed was comfortable but that is the only thing good about this hotel. When we saw how filthy the bathroom was we asked for a new room. At first the manager said no until we got her to relent. Then she said our room rate would go up because we were changing rooms. Asked to speak to the owner and she said he wasn't in. We asked for his phone number and she said no. We asked when he would be in again and she said next Tuesday - this was Thursday. It was readily apparent they could care less about customer service, and safety. Please pay attention to the fact the smoke and fire dedector was hanging off the ceiling and wall and non functional. Stay somewhere else.

No bacon or eggs or toast. Just waffles. The staff was rude, and the day shift front desk workers were never there. The front desk workers parked right outside the check-in door. The cigarette pole was full, and a dead bird was in the rocks by the check-in area. The power went out at 6:30 a.m., so the front desk worker started yelling down the hallway to a guest about the power being out. I will never stay at another Quality Inn again. When it came time to stop for the night, the Quality Inn in Opelousas appeared to meet our requirements as a valid place to stay, so we went for it. The hotel is setup as an inner corridor style hotel, which is the modern way. In some cases this is great, but in others, not so much. You can't just pull up outside the door to your room and unload your stuff into the room for the night... instead you have to cart it all in through the main foyer to get it to your room. Ah well. At least they had a bell cart available to move items back and forth. We got settled into our room, then headed out for some dinner in town, but instead grabbed some food from a local take-out place and brought it back to the room to eat. The night went well, and we slept decently. The room was clean and the beds were comfortably firm. The only issue we saw was that the toilet had not been used in a long time, and flushing it was not easy. The plunger in it was sticking very badly, to the point where when we hit the handle we were afraid we were about to break the internal mechanism. Breakfast in the morning is about what you would expect for a hotel that provides a full breakfast. Eggs, sausage, and biscuits & gravy were available along with hot and cold cereals, fruit, and pastries. The eggs and sausage were all microwaved, and this became very evident when the staff used the microwave in the eating area to heat more eggs. Overall, not a bad place to stay, so long as you know what you are going to get. It is all about expectations.

They don't like to honor Wyndham Rewards perks. Rooms average below $50/night with rewards and they will boldly try to FALSELY recoup the difference in amounts. The environment was peaceful except for one instance where a possibly mentally ill patron knocked on my door after midnight rambling and begging for money stating: I'M A LIL SHORT ON CHANGE. HELP ME OUT. I was like: Wtf? Also, it's not a VERY heavily populated property, but the majority of the patrons are White and VERY unfriendly, giving deep annoying stares and were confrontational with Black guests as observed and reported. If you're using Wyndham Rewards for deep discounts and are a person of color, there WILL be a problem. The desk staff is friendly with the exception of 2 clerks who are fearful of the owners and puppet-like. Unreal.
