I don't want to spend a lot of time on this as I've moved on... We were customers for several…read moreyears. Increasingly I felt it was difficult to get time with the actual accountant. Office hours were inconvenient and even during tax season he was only available during the day when most of us work. I wanted to actually speak to him and get some advice on how to better handle things and it was seemingly impossible unless I took time off work and planned far in advance. They also don't call you proactively until the very last minute to remind you of deadlines, at which time they can be rude. Last year was the final straw for me. I needed to drop my taxes off (again I couldn't get an appt ) and I asked if I could have 5 minutes to speak with him or someone with questions. I was told that was fine. When you walk into their office, its a tiny room with a glass window they talk to you through (as if to stay "stay out"!). His wife who works for him would not let me talk to him, she 'helped' instead. She was very curt with me, and wouldn't even let me through the door to talk to her in the office- I had to use the little glass window. Extremely impersonal. Their pricing was in line with average and I think the work he did was fine, but... There are plenty of places to take my business, and obviously I wasn't that important as a customer.. so we have switched accountants. We were looking for someone who had time for us as customers, with better communication, hours, and where we could actually learn how to improve our experience each year.
