Today was the first time at this market... It is what I consider to be "old world" at it's best. I could not believe the number of off-shore products available. Love this place! It's such a fabulous ethnic market! I find the best prices and a much larger variety of items than the supermarkets! I find items here I can't find anywhere else. Like purple yams and Japanese sweet potatoes at a reasonable price, long beans and okra. Huge golden and black raisins. An amazing variety of fresh breads and fabulous cheeses. Staff is always helpful answering questions and helping you find an item. And don't forget to check out the pastry section on your way out. They are always fresh made and again just fabulous! read more

You can get some deals here on occasion (Like once I got a big box of grapes for $7) , but most of the stuff is on par with supermarket prices and sometimes even higher. I do a lot of comparison shopping. So, after walking through the store a few times and finding no substantial deals, I just starting buying my fruits and veggies on sale at Aldi, Meijer's and Stracks. Much of the produce is rotten and moldy. So, they really should lower the prices since you have to hunt for good specimens. read more

Evans has a huge selection of both common and unusual produce. Because they buy in huge bulk, and probably at a great price, produce is often bruised, over-ripe, and occasionally moldy. BUT, if you're willing to pick through the bins and boxes, there IS good unblemished produce there and at terrific prices. For cooking and/or baking, the produce needn't be cosmetically perfect. A few bruised apples never ruined a homemade pie or applesauce!! I 'm often greeted upon entering and help is usually readily available. I've been coming to Evans for 15+ years and will continue shopping there twice a month. read more

I like shopping there, but INSPECT all produce before you purchase it; there is a lot of bruised, damaged produce. Beware of the checkout clerk, many times I questioned the price and had been overcharged. The prices have gone up, but generally is cost effective. Evans offers items not found in other stores. read more

I was introduced to this market by a friend. I now buy all of my vegetables from here. Sometimes there are items that are not in good condition, but very few. The prices are always lowered then grocery stores. This is basically a market that buys surplus from suppliers. By cutting out the middleman( grocery stores) you get a price reduction. I have to admit, it's now one of my favorite places. I give it four stars simply because they don't have corn the way I like them too. read more

I must come here on off days. I cannot alway find the veggies I need. It's touch and go because more times than not the fruit is mushy, bruised or over ripe. A lot of my friends love this place. I must have bum luck. I do have luck with the pineapple and love the fact they core and slice it right there. You can keep the core if you let them know you want to keep it!! read more

This is a dishonest business. Be careful of the items and prices they put on your receipts. We caught them twice overcharging us with items we did not purchase or they called "fat finger" errors on the unit price and quantity. When you shop there, keep your eyes sharp on their receipt. read more

I came in with the family and was pretty surprised at the amount of different items they have, and the diversity of their products. In addition to the produce market, they have a very well stocked Middle Eastern, Indian, and Mexican section. They also carry some products from Eastern Europe. Prices are reasonable. Never saw buckets of Feta cheese, lol. Come in and explore, you'll be back. read more

We visit the farmers market quite frequently, at least twice or more a week. Yes the prices are fair and yes the produce is descent at times. My issue is on several occasions due to wrong prices on the boxes, or just incompetent cashiers myself and my fiance have been treated very poorly. He owns a restaurant and uses this market for some of his menu because unlike having produce delivered - here he is able to sort through the produce. There is a cashier there by the name of Ophelia and she is absolutely rude, nasty and loud! After ur wife some few altercations with her I am completely shocked that Jimmy the owner continues to allow her to carry on in this manner towards his customers. I am NOT saying the customer is always right but there's a way to deal with a customer when the discrepancy falls in the hands of the business. Until something is done with this woman we will not be returning! Not only will she cursed you in front of the other customers she will loudly gossip to the customers about you as you are standing there! Being in a business where I have to deal with customers and the public I would never imagine to do this to anybody! Hey Jimmy figure it out - when you have so many complaints about one employee and your other employees complain about her as well it is time to clean house! read more

This place is wonderful and they go above and beyond for their customers.... My son and I went in there looking for white pumpkins about a week before Halloween... A gentleman asked if I needed help and my son interjected "we need white pumpkins to paint for Halloween" the man said "I don't have anymore white pumpkins, we are sold out" my son was obviously bummed out about this so the man said "I'll tell you what, if you draw me a nice picture on the side of the pumpkin box I will have a white pumpkin here for you tomorrow." So my son drew an nice picture of a house and a car with a big sun... The man was so sweet and patient while he waited for my 6 year old's masterpiece to be finished.... He said "what a nice picture!" " I will have a big white pumpkin here for you at this time tomorrow"... We bought 5 orange pumpkins that day and left. We came back the same time the next day and as soon as we walked in, there was a big white pumpkin sitting on an empty register... I can't even begin to describe how this made my heart feel- I would recommend any and everyone to use this farmers market for not only your seasonal needs but also your everyday grocery needs! Wonderful customer service and awesome produce and groceries!!! We need more people in the world like this!! Shop mom and pop!! Keep the little man alive!! read more
