My hubby and I enjoyed the farm today! First time here and the staff was great and welcoming. We bought produce, yummy donuts, cabbage, squash, tomatoes and cider. All of it was only $21! Great price and supported local! It's so cute and we went through the pumpkin patch and petting zoo. It's so family friendly and great for us old folks as well as young families with little kids and bigger kids too! Glad we got to check them out! Highly recommended! read more

I absolutely love this place! Not only did I get some fresh veggies from the market area I got some plants to be able to go in my garden. I am so pleased with the quality, customer service and location. They have great prices as well. They also accept credit cards. Visa, MasterCard, discover and novus. Just not American Express at this time. Bummer too because American Express is all about small businesses right now. I would totally recommend! read more

Hmmm. I was visiting this produce stand with a lady who has lived in Highland her whole life. I was wandering through the stand as she was making her selections for our lunch. We were just chatting and all of a sudden the lady that owns the stand jumps into our conversation and starts challenging me about the things I was talking with my friend. I kept telling her that I was talking about some place near my home which was 5 hours away from where we were. This woman was not having anything of my responses. I was shocked and embarrassed from my friend, she was quickly trying to check out to get us out of the stand....All I can say is enter at your own risk. read more

I visited this nursery for the first time a couple weeks ago. Aside from the cute friendly Dog that greets you as you walk in, I was not impressed. My reason for this is because I felt the women who were working that day could have been more Friendly. During check out not one word was spoken to me other than my total. Their attitude was snooty or maybe just impatient, either way I didn't feel welcomed by the humans. The Dog on the other hand was the only upside. I spend a lot of money every summer on flowers and vegetables. im talking 3 to 5 hundred dollars worth. Love it here. It's a quaint stand. We get pumpkins here every year and come back in the spring for the flowers. My son just loves the petting zoo. I've never had one bad experience. Oh and they have delicious apple and pumpkin donuts and some other baked goods. You really have to check it out just a short drive off the highway. read more

I am getting ready to take my 2 grandsons ages 2 &7 to scheeringa farm....they are very excited about the petting zoo as well as the hay-ride....this will be our first time there....I will definitely post later how our trip goes.....looking forward to having fun.... just came back from scheeringa farm, what a great place...my grandsons had a blast, so did their aunt as well as myself.....very clean, staff was extremely pleasant...petting zoo was amazing, kids enjoyed the bounce house and the 2 year old didn't want to leave the corn pit.....going back on Saturday for the hay ride.....we will be going back every year....I am looking forward to getting my flowers there in the spring....great place for family fun..... read more

As a long time region resident, I have visited Scheeringa Farms many times. First I came as a young girl with my father and grandmother, later as a young woman and finally as an older woman. The freshness of their products has never let me down. I bought a exotic plant for my classroom in it lived and thrived for 10 years by keeping it indoors during the winter in the classroom and then bringing it home and putting it outside on the porch for the summer. When I think of Highland I think of places that have that are gone, but part of Highland's history. But I'm so glad Scheeringa farms is still here! I hope it will be here for many more generations! read more

Amazing produce, beautiful plants, a great petting zoo and outstanding customer service! We came here last weekend for the first time and just happened to bump into the owner Don in the parking lot. He was so incredibly kind and showed us around, gave us a sample of some yummy fruit and helped us pick out some fruits and veggies. I was so impressed by the size and selection of produce as well as the fact that everything was organic, picked that day and well priced! Definitely will be back soon! Great tomatoes vine ripened available until frost. But unfortunately the older older women behind the counter are extremely rude and abrupt. I pulled into the parking lot at 9am no one was behind me. I slowed to ask a man employee a question. The older women (2) started to yell to the man I was asking the question to "WHAT HE WANT" Then started yelling at me "park your park your car over there". This place is very racist. As I stood in line ready to check out I witnessed an older woman cashier yell at an Asian couple that had just walked in. They proceeded to look at the different bushels of apples. She screamed at the couple, "they are all the same buy it or not, otherwise leave." Honestly, they are not all the same there were many different varieties. She just didn't want them there. Out of disgust I told her that her attitude was terrible and I will no longer be giving them business. I put all my item on the counter and left. I usually come here 1-2 times a week throughout the summer to buy produce. They used to have the nicest cashiers, but this past week that was definitely not the case. read more

I am so upset with how petty people can be. After reading a few negative posts against Scheeringa Farms I felt the need as a satisfied customer to address the idiots who feel their opinions are welcomed and think that bashing a business is ok. I have been bringing my kids to this farm for years as well as purchasing the produce there. To the person that wrote that the produce was sorry you must be used to eating out of a garbage can buddy because I've never seen any bad produce. I have witnessed the workers there bringing out fresh fruits and vegetables because nothing never stays on the stands. The workers have always been helpful with taking my bags to my car when I have a huge order. As far as the animals in the petting zoo they look great. None of them look like they are missing a meal or neglected. All I can say is if all you can do is freaking complain about a family that is actually giving back to the community keep your ass at home .
