I'm from Chico California and a part time resident at Fox wood County Club. I woke up to Salem not feeling well and immediately called my regular vet located in Chico to schedule an emergency visit. Sadly, to say they were completely booked and had no openings until the following week. I proceeded to call numerous other vets in Chico, California, to no avail. I called Dr. Nelson 's office and explained my situation and they were more than happy to squeeze me in between all of their appointments for that afternoon to make sure Salem was seen and properly diagnosed. I'm seriously considering switching vets and making the hour and a half drive based off of Dr. Nelson's bedside manner and true concern for my pet and the excellent service I received from his wonderful staff. Anyhow, I made it work by maxing out my credit card, which I now have to pay off but other than that, they were cool she recovered. She just had a bellyache and they gave her a shot and we were on our way. Just kind of wish they would've at least let me know for a store maybe even just been cool enough to just wave it since I was only there for 20 minutes But either way I didn't have an appointment. I guess I thought I did but it was for a different day when scheduling online it was a little bit confusing all in all they seem nice though and it seems like a good place.

Dr. Jo and Dr. Jen handled the complication with much expediency and empathy and waived all costs associated with the procedure. It was a difficult situation and they couldn't have done a better job taking care of both the emergent situation and the response post surgery. Their moral compass is well intact and solid as a rock. Cannot recommend them enough.

We go out of our way to come here and that alone says everything…read more This is a true country vet experience in the best way: calm, personal, and actually focused on your animal. No chaos, no packed waiting room, no rushed appointments where you feel like you're on a conveyor belt. It's a husband-and-wife team, and you can feel that difference immediately. There's a level of care and attention that's hard to find, especially since we mainly reside in the Bay Area. They only schedule about two weeks out, which, at first, completely threw me and I was pissed by the inconvenience. I was used to booking way in advance and felt mildly panicked about it. But now I get it. That boundary is exactly what allows them to stay present, not overbook, and give each patient the time they deserve. The space is clean, easy to access, plenty of parking and best of all, it's not crowded. No line of stressed-out dogs and overwhelmed humans. We intentionally plan our dogs' vaccines and routine care around being in the area so we can come here. That's how worth it it is.
