After reading the reviews I decided to try their quesabirria tacos with the consume At $15.99 for lunch I expected awesome. What I got was GREASE. The tacos were barely eatable and the consume was tasteless. The order consisted of 5 tacos and I could only eat 2 and a half AND I WAS HUNGRY!!! I will go again to order something else because I believe in giving local businesses a chance. our first time trying this place and so glad we did! upon entering the restaurant we browsed the menu and ordered at the cash register. then the staff told us to sit at any table. we started off with complimentary chips/salsa. the salsa was spicy but good. i got my taco dinner (asada and al pastor) and my husband got the 3 quesabirria tacos. he said it was the best quesabirria tacos he's had! i liked my tacos as well. taste was good but there were a good amount of fatty pieces in the al pastor so i enjoyed the steak more. rice and beans were good but i feel 3.50 is a bit overpriced for the portions provided. overall, had a solid experience and ate a delicious meal! will be back! read more

Eva's is a reliable Mexican restaurant located in a strip mall off Dundee. I think they specialize in birria tacos since they advertise it on the door as you walk in. I've recently discovered the birria tacos which is awesome crispy-cheesy-melty- dip-able-delicious goodness. Eva's does it pretty good, with a cheesy crispy taco and the au-jus of the meat. The plate comes with beans and rice. I thought the seasoning was a bit off, as the au-jus didn't add much flavor to the taco. It was a tad spicy for my kids (I wouldn't really know if it were) as, my tongue was on fire from the yummy salsas they had. The burrito was really really good. I ordered the al pastor. It was a bit different than other al pastors Crispy meat, and a taste resembling bacon. Now if this is how their Al pastor is, I think I need to come back just for that, as the texture was wonderful, the smokiness of the bacon and the richness really was unique. I also ordered some quesadillas for my kids since they ate up everything that I wanted to eat, the quesadilla was super loaded with cheese and I had it with a side of fries, which was super hot, fresh from the fryer. The staff is friendly and the place was completely filled with customers at 6:30pm when we leave. (When we arrived at 5:30, there were only two tables occupied). Plenty of parking. read more

Walked inside to a very unassuming restaurant from the outside. We came on a weekend, at the start of dinner time so there were only a couple of other patrons there eating. It seemed more like a take out place but by the time we were done eating the restaurant was filled and customers were waiting for seats. We came here for the quesabirria tacos and they did not disappoint. We ordered 2 quesabirria dinners which come with beans and rice. The quesabirria hit the spot and exactly what we were looking for. We also got an al pastor burrito which was quite sizeable and plenty for 2 to share and a cheese quesadilla that came with fries too. If you eat in they also give you chips and salsa. I've passed this restaurant many times before without even considering eating in but I'm glad I did. The food was delicious and reasonably priced! Birria tacos!! My go to place for them! ESP. Since they are now popping up everywhere. The flavors from the meats, the kick in the consumé the perfect combination! Their horchata isn't my favorite but is a staple to make the perfect meal! We also got a side of guac and chips, and it was incredible! We crushed it on the way home so unfortunately the phone didn't get to eat first but it was so good that we couldn't save any of it to enjoy at home. Hidden quesabirria gem! Stopped in here for the first time and I was pleasantly satisfied with our food. We got the queso fundido (without chorizo) and it came with a side of warm tortillas - yum! Chips and salsa were also given once drink orders were placed (salsa was good, had a definite kick to it). Ordered 3 quesabirria tacos with consume and it was so good! Husband got the 3 taco dinner with Al pastor, asada, and cecina tacos. His favorite was the al pastor. We came here specifically for the Quesabirria Tacos. I would say they were ok. They lacked flavor in the taco, and the sauce didn't have much meat or flavor either. The steak in the Carne Asada taco was overcooked and hard. The margaritas tasted watered down, and with not much alcohol. Service was also very slow. My visiting friend and I were looking for a Mexican / Tex-Mex restaurant in the neighborhood that served good Margaritas, and we found this place on Yelp which had very good ratings. Well, we found the place tired, very slow-running, and serving very mediocre food and lame drinks. The salsa was a very hot mix (which I like), but did not come with water for some time; the chips were cold (not room temperature, but COLD!). The drinks took forever to come to the table, and not together, even when we ordered the same drink without any modification at the same time. They seemed to do more business with pick-up/take-out than with seated customers. What was worse, was the poor service and food came with fairly high prices for what you got (for the money). Afterwards, we ran a quick errand and then went to a Chili's nearby for more Margaritas (fantastic taste and portion) and perfectly warmed chips with delicious salsas for ending the evening on high note. I live in the area and I've visited Eva's a couple of times. The food is very good and fresh. It's well seasoned and flavorful. I've taken food to go both times so I haven't dined in, but the food is always nice and hot and everything I need is included in the bag including sauces, napkins and plastic ware. The people who work there are always kind and courteous. Everything we've ordered is delicious and you can tell they put a lot of work and care into their food and preparations.
