Ive been here several times now for lunch during work. It's a smaller restaurant but plenty of seats and tables inside. Parking is easy as it's located in a strip mall with plenty of spaces. It can get busy around 12PM. Food wise, it's ok, portions are generous. However carne asada is a little dry and cut into tiny pieces. Not my favorite cut of beef, this isn't some juicy outside skirt steak you get at some places. The al pastor is better for sure. A burrito or taco dinner with no drinks will run you about $20 so it's in line with most places as far as pricing is concerned maybe slight pricey for the type of joint this is. No free chips and salsa its a express shit down and go spot.I wish they had free water but they don't. Service is pretty good, they like to bring the food out to your table after you order but don't give you a number and on several occasions they have walked around asking if this your food. Just make it more efficient and give out numbers! Ive also had orders taken incorrectly. Co worker ordered taco dinner, I heard him, and just tacos came. I went to Ochoa's Mexican Grill with some friends to celebrate Taco Tuesday. They have a special discount on Tuesdays: one dollar off tacos. It was a pretty good deal. Other places have a limited set of tacos available to order with a special price. My husband and I decided to get six tacos and try a variety of flavors. Once we ordered the tacos they were served pretty fast. Ochoa's can handle a high volume of orders. We got the chicken, ground beef, birria, shrimp, carnitas, and steak tacos. So, after our baseball game, we hit up this Mexican place for dinner. It's kind of a self serve situation, you order and pay first, then grab a table. It was pretty busy, lots of to-go orders flying around. Weirdly, they had a Bollywood channel playing on the TV not exactly what you'd expect in a Mexican restaurant! But the food? Oh man, the food was amazing! Great portions, too. We grabbed some horchata only one size, and it was already poured into cups and chilling in the fridge. A little unusual, I usually see it in a big container, but whatever! I got the loaded fries seriously addictive, huge portion! I also tried an asada taco, but the meat was a little...off. The chorizo taco was okay, but could have used a bit more cooking. The real star was the California burrito with skirt steak. It's a couple of bucks extra, but totally worth it so tender and juicy! And those fries inside? Flavor explosion in your mouth! We also got a lengua gordita. The gordita dough was perfect nice and soft, not hard at all. The lengua was tender, although the slices were a bit big for me. Still delicious though! The quesobirria we got three pieces was also great, especially with the consomé. Honestly, the loaded fries were better than any Chipotle bowl I've ever had! However, I noticed there weren't many beans in the bowl, which is my favorite part of a burrito bowl, and the chicken lacked flavoring. Although I cannot deduct points, the seasoning was insufficient, and the chicken tasted like it was boiled. Despite the chicken not having much taste, I enjoyed the experience overall. Seating is limited. Horchata is made up as medium size and sitting in the cooler for grab and go. It was very good with an aftertaste of cinnamon. My pork enchiladas with green sauce were tasty but the pork was portioned out for tacos meaning no bigger chunks. The verde sauce had good flavor and the corn tortillas they were served in were browned nicely before rolling them into the dish. The refried beans were a little thick in consistency for my liking and the rice was just fair. Sine this was my first visit I also ordered chips and salsa. My chips were made at time of order and were excellent as was the salsa which was blended well but thick in consistency. Not sure how it took me so long to check this place out, as I heard great things about it and they delivered to expectations. One of the things to note is that prices look a little higher than what you might see at Chipotle or other Mexican restaurants, however what is not clear is the generous portions of meat, guacamole (at no extra charge) and quality of the cooking you get here makes this an excellent value. The al pastor burrito bowl was heavy on meat and vegetables and a bit lighter on rice. The meat was marinated very well and seared nicely. The combination of the tomatoes, lettuce, cilantro, and onions actually worked quite well to temper down the saltiness of the meat and create a delicious bite. The steak nachos were great, and a very good deal at the price. The chips are fried very nicely and were strong enough to hold the generous amount of toppings in this dish. I loved the taste and creamy texture of the guacamole here, which tied everything together very nicely. The caramel churros are delicious here as well, with a nice crispy/crunchy yet chewy dough that holds in the delicious caramel center in very nicely. The cinnamon helps to elevate the aromatic combination and make this a treat that's definitely worth the cost. Overall, simply delicious, fast, and cost efficient. We ordered Ochoas for delivery. We tried the birria tacos with consome and hot Cheetos burrito with camphechano (hot spicy steak and Al pastor). The food arrived quick and still hot. Birria tacos - the consome was delicious and done right. However, my husband and I both found the tacos to be a little dry. We expected the birria meat in the tacos to be full of flavor and drench with sauce. But if you dip the taco into the consome and leave it in there for several minutes then you'll have yourself a juicy tender birria taco. I can't say that it was the best birria tacos I've had but it was decent. How Cheetos burrito with camphechano. I loved that they had this unique option of campechano. Which is a mix of hot spicy steak and Al pastor. The burrito was unique that it had hot Cheetos in the burrito which added another layer of flavor and crunch! I will warn you though - this burrito with the campechano was spicy! However all the flavors were delicious! You won't find a burrito like this one anywhere else. I appreciated all the unique options ochoas provided from birria tacos to the hot cheese is campechano. They also have California style burritos with French fries inside on their menu. The chips were fresh and delicious. The salsa was half full and seemed old. The salsa verde was not tomatillo-based but had a creamy avocado base that lacked heat and salt. Don't waste your money on the ketchup-cup side of grilled onions. The grilled peppers were sold by the piece and were good. Aw man I love this place. My family and I eat here all the time ever since we moved to Lincolnshire. My partner is very particular about tacos and even she loves this place. The workers are nice, the food is good and priced very reasonably. I'm a big fan of their steak and birria tacos. The meat is juicy and has a lot of flavor and overall very aromatic. Their horchata is consistently really good. I also def recommend their California burrito. Its a steak burrito with fries for the added crunch and guacamole. Overall very flavorful!
