Great hidden gem in the nw burbs. Ordering is at the counter and they bring the food out quickly. Always consistent in quality every time we've eaten here. Large portions, large menu, friendly staff, and authentic. Highly recommend this spot!

I've been eating here since they opened. I had a lengua burrito my son had a steak quesadillas Burrito very little meat all veg. They didn't offer cilantro and onions. The steak on questions was dry hardly any cheese, They are kinda expensive I don't mind if the quality was good. Not sure if I will be back.

If you're looking for a solid taco and casual atmosphere, Ochoa's is the place to be. I've been a few times and the food is always fresh and delicious. The guys at the counter are nice and patient. The restaurant is clean. I'm glad there's a great taco place by work!

Ochoa's Mexican grill is the hidden gem in Deerfield. I would say that compete with any Mexican restaurant even in the city. The food quality is of high quality! I loved the attention for the dietary restrictions they asked us about! The staff even recommended items for us. If you are in Deerfield you need to try OMG out!

    Asada taco and chorizo taco

So, after our baseball game, we hit up this Mexican place for dinner. It's kind of a self serve situation, you order and pay first, then grab a table. It was pretty busy, lots of to-go orders flying around. Weirdly, they had a Bollywood channel playing on the TV not exactly what you'd expect in a Mexican restaurant! But the food? Oh man, the food was amazing! Great portions, too. We grabbed some horchata only one size, and it was already poured into cups and chilling in the fridge. A little unusual, I usually see it in a big container, but whatever! I got the loaded fries seriously addictive, huge portion! I also tried an asada taco, but the meat was a little...off. The chorizo taco was okay, but could have used a bit more cooking. The real star was the California burrito with skirt steak. It's a couple of bucks extra, but totally worth it so tender and juicy! And those fries inside? Flavor explosion in your mouth! We also got a lengua gordita. The gordita dough was perfect nice and soft, not hard at all. The lengua was tender, although the slices were a bit big for me. Still delicious though! The quesobirria we got three pieces was also great, especially with the consomé. Honestly, the loaded fries were better than any Chipotle bowl I've ever had! They also do a burrito bowl version if fries aren't your thing. The owners were super friendly and checked on us a few times. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

    Surf and turf Burrito Bowl

I got there about 10 minutes before closing and they were nice enough to still serve me. I ordered the surf and turf bowl and man was it good! It was packed with fresh ingredients; it had so much meat in it that I think it had more than the rice! I'll definitely be back.

Food still good like the last couple of times I went. Service and staff were friendly. Only small thing was the guacamole was kinda bland, but with the flick of the wrist and a salt shaker, it was good. I like the guacamole being chunky, which I found to be the case here.

    Chicken burrito bowl

6.5/10- Decent I ordered from Uber Eats, explicitly requesting a Chicken burrito bowl with guacamole on the side and no sour cream. The eatery was closed on Sundays, so I planned to enjoy my meal the following day for lunch. Overall, I found the portion of the bowl to be generous. Although it was more expensive than a standard chicken chipotle bowl in my area, it was worth it because they provided more chicken and avocado for free. However, I noticed there weren't many beans in the bowl, which is my favorite part of a burrito bowl, and the chicken lacked flavoring. Although I cannot deduct points, the seasoning was insufficient, and the chicken tasted like it was boiled. Despite the chicken not having much taste, I enjoyed the experience overall. I would be willing to try this eatery again, perhaps with the surf and turf variety or another meal. While the chicken may not have been up to par, the other dish elements shone through. Maybe the bird isn't the word around these parts.

    Was a Steak Burrito...

Are their tortillas made in house with an overwhelming of love?

I would say the amount of love put into the tortillas is perfectly adequate, not overwhelming.

I came across the reviews of Guzman y Gomez on Yelp, and it sounded great, and we decided to try it. When I looked it up, I found out that if I ordered through the app we could start earning rewards, so we did this, and went inside to pick up the order and eat. Everything was ready and waiting in a large bag for us to pick up. We grabbed it at the pick up window, and went into the dining area to sit and eat. I ordered two tacos, and my husband got a burrito. With the tacos, I chose ground beef, and chose mild on the seasoning. They were very good, although I think next time I'll try spicy and see if I like that even better. But what set them apart was that the taco shells themselves had some taco seasoning on them that was delicious. The tacos also just had the basics, which is how I like them - meat, cheese, and salsa. And two were plenty for me, very substantial. My husband tried the ground beef burrito, which was huge. He could only eat half, and took the other half to eat later. He said he enjoyed it a lot. We were looking forward to going back, but I read just now that all the Chicago locations have closed as of today. That's a shame, because we really liked it a lot.

On a rainy Thursday night, we finally had a chance to check it out because we wanted a quick and easy meal before heading to the Art exhibition opening in the Northbrook Public Library close by. The restaurant was not busy at the time. There was only 1 table occupied. After we settled down, there was another small table taken. Our waitress was friendly, but after she brought the Miller Light for my husband and a draft beer "Fist City" for our daughter, she forgot about my lemonade. I had to remind her when she brought our food. She also just brought 1 Fish Taco when my daughter ordered 2, and had to place another order again. Not a big deal. When we left and passed by her, she didn't say anything like thank you or good bye, just looking at us. It was a little awkward. Well, maybe she's just not very outgoing. Hope that I was not expecting too much from a little eatery. Now on to the tacos. There were hits and misses. The Crispy Avocado Taco was very good! It's my first time tasting fried avocado, crispy and flavorful! I would order that again! However, the lamb in the Lamb Carnitas Taco was bland and rather dry. it's the first time that I ever had lamb that had no flavor. Although the mango slaw had a nice crunch, tart and refreshing, and went well with the lamb meat, it was skimpy and not enough to top all the meat. I joked to my husband that maybe that's the taste of munching on cardboard! I don't like to waste food and I wasn't full, but I could not continue eating, and had to waste half of the lamb taco. Husband thought that his Blackened Salmon Taco was OK, but his Steak Taco was not, since every bite of steak had gristle. He was surprised since that was supposed to be their signature taco. Daughter's 2 Fish tacos were good, except that she didn't like the flour taco shells. She prefers corn taco shells. My lamb taco had corn taco shells (2 layers) and the crispy avocado had flour shells. I love supporting local businesses and really planned to give Eataco 5 stars before we came, but had to deduct 1 star after we dined in. However, when I read more reviews afterward and found that many customers enjoyed the 2 bottles of salsa (1 green and 1 red) that came with the tacos, and we had no condiments of any kind on our table. Should I had a bottle of salsa, the Lamb Carnitas would have been edible. Unfortunately, I had to deduct another star. Our overall experience at Eataco was not bad, it took us only 55 minutes for the meal. It fits the bill when you need something quick and simple.
