Really, driving the distance is more than worth it. Yesterday, I happened to be on the right side of town and went back to Eva's. It's a small building but that's one of the things I like the most about it. It's comfortable and friendly. The server's name was Marili and she was great. She anticipated when I needed anything and never made me feel like I was asking too much. There was a high school(?) aged kid that was very attentive and courteous and helped the servers fill drinks, take plates, and check up on tables. I ended up tipping him as well because he definitely deserved it. The owner was a consistent presence, also making sure everyone was happy and everything was in order. This is a small, family owned business and it definitely feels like it by the way they treat and know their customers. If that wasn't enough of a reason to support this place, the food was probably the best Mexican food I've had. As soon as I sat down, I ordered a cherry coke and a small queso to go with the chips. The chips were thick (but not overly so) and had a really good crunch to them, and the queso was definitely worth the buy. Their menu is very extensive and there are so many different dishes that I haven't seen at other restaurants. I don't usually get appetizers at Mexican restaurants for some reason, but I wanted to try something new. To start, I ordered the Mini Chimis (Two fried chimis stuffed with chicken, beans, and cheese and served with a homemade dressing.) The dressing was something like a coleslaw, sweet and tangy, and I could have probably drank the stuff it was so good. The chimis were cut in half and served over a shredded lettuce bed and were cooked perfectly. had to move the plate to the back of the table so I would not just eat all of it right then and there and not be able to eat any of the chicken fajitas I had ordered for an entree. The chicken fajitas came out sizzling and had more and better flavor than other fajitas I've had. The tortillas were so fluffy and tasty as well I actually ordered another side of them to go! The fajitas are served with the usual rice, beans, and lettuce mix and topped with a fresh homemade guacamole. When the owner stopped by, I asked him if they made the guacamole in house and he said that yes, they actually made everything fresh there. You can definitely taste the quality and care put into everything. At the end, the total was $42.80, and I will still probably get 4-5 more meals out of the leftovers because of the generous amount they serve. This is the kind of place that once you go once, you'll probably have a hard time staying away from so keep that in mind before you make that decision. I couldn't think of one bad thing to say even if I wanted to. 10/10

However, because we weren't ready to order our mains yet, our server completely checked out. She literally turned her back to us to chat with a coworker, and then moved on to show her phone to a man who appeared to be her relative (which became important later). When we finally flagged her down to order, she promised to bring more chips. Instead, our food arrived incorrect, and the chips never showed up. To make matters worse, the kitchen simply scraped off the unwanted ingredients and sent the same plate back out--thankfully, no one had a severe allergy. For the rest of the meal, our server ignored us to chat with management. She never checked in, refilled drinks, or brought the promised chips. We had to wave down a completely different server just to get our check and ask about our to-go order. Our server finally returned with the bill and a tiny to-go container, but still no chips and no container for the leftover large queso. When we asked to speak to a manager, we watched her go over to the same man she had been showing her phone to earlier. He jokingly pinched her shoulder before leisurely finishing a scheduling task on the computer while we waited. When he finally walked over, he couldn't have cared less. He made excuses for her, asked if she put the missing chips in our to-go bag (we never got them), and indifferently stated, "It's a business, the best I can do is half off." They didn't even send our server back with the corrected bill; they made someone else do it. Ironically, she was the only one who apologized. When I asked her who owned the place, she revealed that the dismissive manager we just spoke with was actually one of the owners. Never go here!!

Yes. Cheese? Also yes. Portion control? Absolutely not. And honestly? Respect. The Birria Tacos (aka post-workout happiness) These tacos are CRISPY. Like audible crunch. Golden, juicy, stuffed with slow-cooked beef that tastes like it's been marinating in flavor since 1997. And the consommé??? You dip it and suddenly you understand why people fall in love too fast. Served with: Mexican rice (carb loading but make it elite) Refried beans with melted cheese (fiber... we're calling it balance) A lime wedge for aesthetic health Would I eat this after leg day? Yes. Would I eat this before leg day? Also yes. The Smothered Burrito (aka the villain arc meal) It comes out sizzling like it's announcing its presence. Completely drowned in melted cheese. Sauce everywhere. Zero shame. You cut into it and it's just layers of juicy meat, sauce, and chaos. This is not a "cute little lunch." This is a "cancel your plans and commit" situation. Foodie Influencer Notes: Portions are HUGE (shareable but do you really want to?) Flavor is bold, rich, and comforting Not watered down, not bland, not pretending to be healthy This is real, messy, satisfying food Gym Girl Verdict: Is it high protein? Yes. Is it high calorie? Also yes. Is life about balance? Absolutely. You can meal prep chicken and rice all week... but sometimes you need birria dipped in consommé while telling yourself "this is for muscle growth." Final Rating: 9/10 - would absolutely earn this on the StairMaster again.

The restaurant is beautiful and they have a full bar. The menu is small but a great collection of offerings. It's not traditional Mexican but more of a fusion with a lot of Spanish influence. The drinks were amazing. we tried the flan old fashion and Jamaica de vecino. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer it was realy tasty. The service was was great and the food came out quickly. For an entree we tried the bocadillo and Street corn both were excellent. The street corn stole the spotlight as a Mexican. I was impressed with their take on roasted street corn . We had the churros they were good too. The only negative I'd the seats were uncomfortable. They are going for a sleek clean modern astetic. And the place looks great . But if you want people to stay longer and drink more, you gotta get more comfortable chairs.
