I ate here a few days ago - absolutely delicious! I arrived around 6:15pm on Wednesday, and they…read morehad sold out many of their menu offerings, so next time I'll hustle my rear end down earlier in the day. I snagged their last order of meatloaf and had the carrot soufflé and mac n' cheese sides. The leftovers I took home were just as good the next day. The carrot soufflé - OMG! - lightly sweet, and the fresh carrot flavor really shined. Michael and Angela are wonderful and attentive hosts. I can't wait to go back, and I'm really looking forward to attending a future Supper Club. I grew up in Gloversville and am moving back here soon. I'm so glad that they're here, and wish them many years of success.

The ambience is perfect; the service exemplary, and while I was there for one of their monthly Supper Club evenings (candlelight, authentic jazz music on repeat), I am certain their regular menu must reflect the quality and mouthful of joy I experienced. You can bring your own wine, they will welcome you like long lost relatives, and you will not regret getting out of your comfort zone and trying a new dish. They deserve to be open six days a week. Don't hesitate to try and help them achieve that milestone. I had FEIJOUDA, a Brazilian black bean stew, slow simmered with a medley of savory sausages and tender cuts of pork, served with white rice and sliced oranges. If I say I licked my bowl clean would you believe me? It pains me that corporate chain restaurants keep luring in crowds for crap, microwaved foods when there's a chance to support local family run businesses. Their success will be your success. I can't wait to go back. PS: I worked on the road for almost 20 years and have eaten soul food in virtually every state south of the M-D line. There is a variation of soul food for almost every house that cooks it. Doesn't make theirs 'not' soul food. Either way, it's definitely food that reached my soul. Thanks for your attention to this matter.

(That's not a bad thing) Ya Yas is conveniently located in downtown Schenectady near State street on an unassuming corner you would pass easily if not paying attention. No worries, though there's plenty of parking and even a parking garage next door. I went on a slow Thursday night and was met with the owner who I assume was Ya Ya herself. She immediately greeted me with the house specials along with the homemade sides. I ordered the 1/2 chicken breast, collard greens, yams and corn bread the perfect southern food combo. I'd never tried collard greens but they were tasty and felt like a cross between spinach and Brussels sprouts. The bill was reasonable at $18 with plenty of food so you definitely won't go home hungry when leaving Ya Yas. If you're in the mood for some southern hospitality in Upstate NY, give this place a try I will definitely be back.

But we were driving through town and my husband said he wanted fried chicken and I said we're finally gonna go eat lunch at yayas. So yeah he got the fried chicken meal with yams, cornbread, Mac salad, and string beans. I got the fried catfish with the same sides. Everyone working was so kind and came to check on us. The food was sooo good. I had enough leftovers to bring home dinner too.
