The prices were 3-4 times more costly than buying from the venue itself, and when we tried to cancel, we were told that all sales are final. We had not agreed to buy tickets. Within mins I emailed them, then CHATGPT said they are known for not responding to emails so I opened a chat with them. When I realized this was a 3rd party seller with no actual tickets at the time of purchase, I called back to cancel within 15 minutes. They responded it was their common practice to deliver tickets just prior to the event with another customer's name on the tickets. I went to the actual vendor's website and purchased tickets at 30% of the Event Ticket Center. This is a shady company that uses arbitrage to secure tickets last minute while customers have pre-paid inflated prices far in advance of the actual event. This company is not a legitimate ticket seller, and they repeatedly admitted this during an overly long interaction with their customer support team (ChatGPT). When you demand your tickets, they will claim they don't have them because they don't sell tickets. What? How does that work? For clarity, they will tell you they are a "marketplace company" that facilitates financial transactions related to event-related queries on Google. As their customer service (ChatGPT) will remind you over and over again, they do not hold, sell, or offer services related to tickets. This, despite their website looking like the actual venue and listing events scheduled to take place. But before you buy anything, double-check the URL you are on when buying tickets! When I realized I'd been duped, I tried to A) get my money back or B) get my tickets. They refused both. And for that, they repeatedly cited their policies to claim that everything is as it should be. My favorite part was when they tried to get me to "relist" tickets that they refused to send me to another partner company. Not sure if you can call this a pyramid scheme, or a scam, or what. More regrettable is that my credit card company seems to agree that, even though I received nothing from Event Ticket Center, I have no recourse because "a service did take place." Again, that service was a transaction of money from my account into theirs. I failed to understand the company policy, which was that because I typed in my credit card information into a box, I received what I should have received. Meaning you are paying for a transaction. Not tickets. No tickets exist. This is the new era of "how can we extract more money from consumers without offering anything in return." Imagine you go into Costco, you fill your cart, you pay for the transaction, then someone comes and puts everything back on the shelf, and they say, "We got your money, but never said you would get anything you placed in your cart." Purchased tix for a local concert. The tix from the venue were $25. Mine were $58 per ticket, and with fees they ended up charging me $139.20. When I got to the venue, I was told my entry ticket to the fair had already been scanned and it was unusable. When we got to the check in for the concert, we were told what they sent us was not even a ticket. I then noticed they only sent me page 2-4 to print, totally missing page 1 where supposedly the concert tix were. I got on their chat, "spoke with an agent" supposedly and was told they could not secure new tickets for us. It was a sold out show. We had no tickets and had to turn around and go home. This company is a ticket reseller. However when searching for a show they give you every impression that they are the main ticket office. I bought a pair of tickets and soon learned that they were a reseller. The base tickets were marked up from face value and then they had a massive service fee then tacked on a delivery fee on top of it. Once you purchased you have no option to cancel or resell. They then inform you that you will not be able to download your tickets until the day before the event. Sure enough the day before the event, no tickets. After no response, I finally got a response that they contracted with another ticket reseller who has not released them. Three hours before the event after I had to contact them, they informed me they cancelled my order and supposedly I will be refunded. I'll be surprised if I get my money back. We had a very formal evening for the holidays scheduled around this event and it has been completely ruined by this company. My biggest mistake is allowing them to swoop into my ticket search and pretend to be legitimate. Very dishonest company, stay away! read more
