I have met some really cool people; the events are fun, but that could be because you have the ability and flexibility to choose the events you attend. Everyone is pretty much in the same spot, as far as wanting to meet new people, so it takes away that "first meet" awkardness that so many people are afraid of. In addition, there are some events that I (and you) have (or will) chose(n) to do that I/you would not have thought of doing on my own. Save your money and just join a free group on Facebook or Meetup.com. This company is a complete rip-off and should be avoided. I signed up with Events and Adventures expecting a fun, exclusive club for young professionals, but what I got was nothing short of a nightmare. They lure you in with promises of unique events and networking opportunities, but it's all lies. Every event they advertise as 'exclusive' is just a public event you could attend for free on your own. They act like they're organizing something special when really, they're just repackaging what's already happening around the city. The worst part? They trap you in a ridiculous contract that's impossible to get out of, with hidden fees and costs that they don't tell you about upfront. They'll pressure you with sales tactics, and once you're locked in, there's no way out that won't cost you A LOT. When I tried to cancel after realizing what a scam it was, they were not sympathetic or even concerned about my dissatisfaction and wanted me to pay a massive cancellation fee. Their customer service is truly atrocious. Rude, condescending, and completely unhelpful--they acted like I was the problem for expecting what they advertised. I'm furious that I fell for this and wasted my money. This company is nothing but a money-grabbing scam, and I regret every penny spent. Please don't make the same mistake I did. read more

What I enjoy so much about Events & Adventures is I can feel confident that the people around me and in my environment actually 'chose' to be there! There's nothing fun about being obligated/expected to attend certain functions or stuck on a blind date I hate!? I also don't have to worry about crossing social boundaries with men who might be married but not want me to know about it.? What a relief! Rip-off and supposedly no way to get out of the contract once you sign up- EVEN if you NEVER sign-up or participate in any event. Most of their events are not in my immediate area and quite the drive, so it was pointless for me to even consider...That's ok, I will fight this! They try to use the "interview" process to make it seem elite..." but how many people do you think they have turned away because of a bad interview? I would be interested in finding out... They claim to only allow "the cream of the crop" join but I've seen otherwise. Just saw the evidence where they were paying people for positive reviews! Case in point...shady and deceitful. Do not recommend. I had an "interview" with them to see if i was a good fit for the group. They ask questions about what I do and how much i make. She asked me "what would make you a good member?" As if I, a paying customer, should prove why I am good enough to give them money. The high-pressure salesperson gave me a brief overview of their offerings and then told me how much it cost. You're looking at 2400-4750 for memberships ranging from a year to lifetime. There was a sale for $500 off if I signed up and paid right then. I told her I do not shell out thousands of dollars on a whim and asked for time to consider the options. This salesperson told me, "If you have to think about it, maybe you aren't a good fit for this group. We are for people who jump in with both feet. We are doers." That just about pissed me off and I said goodbye. She started out telling me how exclusive the group was and how great a fit I would be. When I decided not to pay her a couple thousand dollars on the spot, she decided I wasn't cool anymore. I will trash this group to anyone who asks me about it. They just want to make a sale. If they could get a zero, I would give it, but yelp doesn't let you put zero. You get caught up in the hype when you go there, because they make it seem so fun. You know they are slimy when your friend is with you and they say only one person can come in at a time. (That handles anybody else hearing what they say) Regardless, my physician friend wouldn't hear of that and came in anyway. When we asked about events for people over 40, they said they have 3 - 4 a month, called Premier Events. My physician friend didn't sign up after the presentation, but I did. I went to three events, one crawfish boil, and two club events. Both were in Mid Town, and were for 20 year olds. I started watching the calendar, and for two months they had 0 Premier Events. The third month they had one in Clear Lake, 88 miles from my house. I knew then they had lied to get me to sign. When I called and tried to get out of the contract, they said I was liable for the total amount. DO NOT SIGN UP HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A COUPLE THOUSAND TO THROW AWAY, OR UNLESS YOU ARE IN YOUR 20's. This is a great way to meet new people in a new city and its also a great way to see things around the city that you may have never known about touring on your own. I've been in Houston for 5 years and I have just found out during a Double decker bus tour event that there is underground shopping in Downtown Houston. As a member of E&A for 2.5 years, I have done various things from meet and greets and painting events to camping and Hang gliding events. Anything you can think of doing around the city they have an event for. Also as a member, I have made many friends from different backgrounds that I would have never meet if I never joined E&A. The only complaint that I would have with E&A would be the initial membership rate and the additional monthly fees for being a member. It is a little over the top considering that some of the events that you may be interested in trying, such as sky diving or a boat cruise you will have to pay out of pocket for. That is not a plus. If you can afford to join this club, I would strongly suggest that you join. There are more advantages than there are disadvantages to joining this club. read more

I would give them zero !!!! When I sign up I told them I wasn't sure if this was my thing but I wanted to try anyways, they said no problem you can always get out when you want. I sign up for 6 months and when I called to cancel they said it was okay I just need to pay the contract! Obviously I refuse that is not what they told me when I signed up. Now three years later a collection agency called and now I have $1,645 in my credit and I had excellent credit. Thanks to them I was refuse a credit I needed for something important. Thanks for ruining my credit I still refuse to pay something I didn't use!!! Because you pay a monthly fee and doesn't include anything you end up paying more at all the events you go! Stay away from this group! I thought I was the only one with a bad experience. Yes, they are very pushy to recruit people and very rude too. Little than 8 hours after I subscribed, I changed my mind. I did everything they told me to cancel and get a refund, but they never refund the money. When I tried to follow up, the person who was in charge of this process, was the ruddest. Just lately when I reviewed their Facebook page, some administrator said that the money was refunded. Did they get their records based on my Facebook profile?? Completely awful. read more
