Beautiful event space. Came for a work event and just never really noticed the place! We had valley parking which I will say was a bit slower then ppl wanted but I thought it was okay. The event venue is very close to the busy parts of the city and I considered it centralized. read more

Very nice tennis and swim club off of Westheimer. My children learned to play tennis here through a partnership with Girl Scouts and we have attended many events here over the years. Fond memories of celebrating milestones from baby showers to birthday parties to Bar and Bat Mitzvahs here. Great rooms for special events. Parking is easy with a garage across the street. Food, however, is not great. Soups and main entrees are often served cold. Salads are not that fresh and crisp. Grilled veggies are either undercooked or a bit burned on the edges. read more

I was invited here to attend an Immigration seminar by one of the law firms my company uses. This is an amazing venue. They have their own parking garage across the street with several floors of parking for members and guests. They also offer valet parking. I didn't get to walk though the whole main building as our meetings were restricted to the second floor ball rooms, which there were several. I think that you would have to be a member to use their establishment. The second floor rooms had a door that opened to a patio that had a breathtaking view of a huge out door swimming pool with cabanas! The service was excellent and it was a very informative event. read more

My employer has had their Gala here for two years already and there are some pros and cons to this venue. It is very nice and elegant inside, but with that comes a hefty price tag. There are many different options to chose from when renting this venue depending on your party's size. The food selection depends on what the head of the event asks for. On both occasions, I have yet to be disappointed. One strange thing is that they do not offer iced tea, but that might have been based off of what the head of the event requested. read more

Don't do a business luncheon here unless no one in your group will be requesting a special meal! Attended a business luncheon where some of the guests requested vegetarian meals ahead of time. The catering service got the count wrong and had to prepare some of them on the spot, making the guests wait so long for their meal, everyone else was finished and plates had been cleared off the tables before the remainder of the vegetarian meals arrived. Made for a very embarrassing and awkward setting for those guests, who also missed the speaker's presentation because they were tracking down staff constantly to inquire about the status of their meal. The most perfect wedding venue in Houston. Absolutely beautiful! After 3 months and 6 site visits within Houston, our final stop at The Briar Club immediately sealed our decision. Lucky for us, there was a spectacular wedding there the day we were taking the tour. No exaggeration, it was a dream wedding. By far the most beautifully decorated wedding ceremony I've ever seen. To put that statement into context, I've been to over 20 weddings in Texas alone. After the tour, we were determined to host a wedding as beautiful as the one we witnessed. We only succeeded because of what this venue has to offer. The lighting is layered and complex. It automatically makes you warm and happy inside. The table settings are crystal clean and beautifully arranged. The venue is open with very high ceilings giving any event a grandiose effect. Finally, don't think too much about the Chiavari chairs. Just Do It. They are totally worth it. Our wedding had about 170 total attendees, but whether it be 150 or 300 people, the venue doesn't ever feel "empty" or "crowded." It truly is magical. I would like to give 10 stars for the food alone. Fine dining quality food you actually want to eat. You want a real life example of how delicious the slow braised beef ribs were? Some of our guests literally requested to go boxes! The mashed potatoes and wedge salad are better than most restaurants in Houston. The honey glazed salmon was cooked perfectly, moist and succulent packed with flavor. Lastly, the plated dinner portions are gigantic! Coming from a family of brothers who can eat 1lb burgers for lunch without a problem, their plate of food is over the top filling. I am honestly going back to the venue just to have dinner because it just became one of my favorite restaurants in Houston. What's a party without drinks? Their premium bar is light years ahead of other venues. When they say premium Bar Selection, they don't just give you the wimpy 3 brand selection. The Briar Clubs includes a full open bar with 6 choices of whiskey including Johnnie Walker Black, 5 choices of vodka including Grey Goose, 4 choices of gin including Hendrick's, 5 choices of tequila including Don Julio, 8 choices of beer including Corona Extra and Heineken, and finally 2 selection of wine of your choice. This also includes all mixers, after dinner coffee and tea bar, as well as unlimited soft drinks. As if that's not enough, they allow shots! Request it from the waiters and they will bring you generous pours of liquor shots in actual glassware. Now that's a party! Finally, perhaps the most important factor is the staff. We are undoubtedly social creatures and who you work with is vital to the success of your event. Sameh the banquet manager is someone I respect tremendously. Not only because he provided some of the best service I have ever experienced, but he is flexible, respectful and understanding no matter what situation pops up unexpectedly. I learned Sameh used to hold a top position at the Four Seasons, but him and his staff goes beyond what I have experienced through all of the 5 star hotels I have stayed at. If Sameh is still there when you book this venue, I highly recommend this venue. He is a good leader that will make you feel at ease. On such a life changing day, you want a stronger leader to cover your back. Our wedding day was the happiest day of our life. Anyone getting married is bound to be anxious but everything was perfect that day. The Briar Club will live fondly in my memories as one of the happiest places in my life. It has left an everlasting sparkle in my heart. read more

We had a company event here and it was THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! We provided the ballroom diagram to the catering team days before our event only to find out that the setup was a complete mess on the day of the event. We were supposed to have the ballroom set up for 300 guests, but it was only set up for 250. When asked to rearrange the ballroom, the captain told us that it is impossible. The conversation then turned into an ugly argument where the "F" words were said several times. We eventually got to speak to their CFO who happened to be there at that time but of course non of the staff admitted the fact that they had cursed at us. And they didn't even apologize to us! After finally rearranging the ballroom for us, they purposely told our guests that it was open seating when we clearly had assigned seating which caused a big delay in our event timeline. These people are rude, irresponsible, petty and dishonest! They are DISGUSTING! We will NEVER do but with them again. read more

Every time I say the words Briar Club, I can't help but invoke Dan Akroyd's Lewis Winthorp in Trading Places or Ted Knight's, Judge Schmells character in Caddy Shack. However, the Briar Club really doesnt sport the high falutin' attitude of some other stuffy clubs. I attend many meetings here for work and always enjoy the food, service and atmosphere. Whether in the ballroom, lounge or breakout rooms, this is a nice Highland Village destination for members or meeting attendees alike. I seriously need to consider membership but no single malt scotch and ascot for me! read more

I tell my wife every night that this is the best daycare in the city. Totally gated in, two big pools with an abundance of life guards, well-trained security guards, and plenty of other staff. It is easy to forget about your kids while you get a couple of drinks at the bar and your wife does her best socialite impersonation. read more

We've been a member for about 3 years and at least once a week, I tell my husband how much I love this place. With 4 kids in tow, it is of utmost importance that my kids are safe even when I'm not watching. With only 1 entrance and exit, I know the people coming and going are, for the most part, accounted for. We considered other clubs but felt this club was the best fit for our family due to its size and proximity to our home. Smaller is sometimes better. The staff is welcoming and warm. There is a wonderful sense of community there and I truly feel it is an extension of my home. I play tennis there, my kids play tennis & swim and I also attend the workout classes. The current renovations will take our experience to another level but I was already satisfied to begin with. read more

I don't always eat when I visit the Briar club but when I do chef Israel Mancini makes me the best dishes! After a great workout I like to load up on protein. Chef Israel hooks it up with a bacon cheese burger! Thanks chef! read more
