But then, once prices were introduced I experienced "sticker shock" and told the rep I needed to think about this decision. I heard of Events and Adventures when I was in a relationship, while the program was on the radio. Year later I was single and sad and didn't know what to do with myself. I had no friends and no experiences and no hobbies to socialize with people. E&A gave me all of that and more. It sounds cliché to say but I really did find my people. After realizing that you can LITERALLY go on Meetup, Eventbrite, Facebook events, etc for FREE I decided to cancel my membership (or so I thought). I hadn't been to a single event yet, hadn't had my membership for even a week, and emailed them right back telling them I wanted out. They have a 3 day cancellation policy that has to be done by certified mail, so my email that I sent them apparently didn't count. They wanted $2500 to cancel, and when I told them to freeze my account they continued to charge me and eventually sent me to a collections agency. Bottom line is, this place is a complete scam and I cannot believe that this is how they treat our countries veterans. All of the events they planned were far as hell, the hosts and people in the corporate office that I talked to were extremely rude, and I could not recommend this place any less. read more

This club is a waste of money and time. I joined this group thinking that I would actually meet people within the club, and that the club is hosting events ONLY for club members. When you are interviewing, they show you a calendar of events that are general and seem curated just for members. Upon joining, most of the events are events that can be found on Google or meetup.com. I went to a Bachata class that I was given the impression was for members, only to find out it's a weekly publicized event. I asked what our monthly membership pays for recently in the Facebook group and was told, "to be in the club". That is a waste of my time and money when I have to pay extra for open events I could find on my own that are not curated for just members- what our membership cost should be covering. If your financial situation changes, you cannot get out of the contract. You have 3 days to cancel said contract, which is NO time to get to know someone or get a feel if it this club is for you. The age demographic in this club for Phoenix is 40+ and previously divorced. I told the membership GM I am not interested in that demographic and he was offended. I'm sorry, but I want what I want. Since last May when I regrettably signed up, I haven't been able to attend one event because of how far away they are. Most of the events also cost you extra money to attend on top of paying for your own food and drinks. When I asked to cancel because the events were nowhere near me, I was told no because I was past the 3 day cancellation period. What a joke. They obviously know it's a scam and that's why they have such shady practices. They did offer for me to pay them $1,200 to 'buy out' of the membership. I was disappointed to learn that everyone in this group is over 40 despite being sold a membership based on the statement that the average age was 30. Also, the old people are socially awkward and creepy. I believe that is the real reason online/real life dating didn't work for them. I have camped, hiked, biked, spent water time paddle boarding, canoeing, tubing, cliff jumping and so on. Opportunities abound. How about high society? Concerts, plays, and formal events can fill your social calendar. Even if you are outside of your norm, the fun loving group of outgoing people will make you enjoy it. Need something to do every day of the week? The fantastic event coordinators and hosts have something fun planned every single day. Understand that this is a club, it has dues that help maintain it. I personally am more than happy to have an event coordinator on retainer that takes suggestions for activities, negotiated deals for you and the group and even brings in special unique events at various venues. Some people balk at having to pay for some events above and beyond the dues, but the convenience and even the discounts more than make up for this, imho. I joined E&A at the end of January, after hearing the radio commercial about meeting people while doing things you love. So happy that I did, because I really love this group...everyone is really nice and I have enjoyed meeting new people and doing fun activities. I was hesitant to spend the money, but so glad that I decided to join. There is really a wide variety of activities from sports (sand volleyball, pickle ball), hiking, happy hours, taco Tuesday, game nights, etc. and locations both East and West side of town. You can decide which ones to attend, and often see the same people so you get to know them and share interests. I like that they interview and screen members which differs from other meetup groups. The hosts and Meggie are really friendly and helpful whenever there are questions. Meggie also reaches out to ask for suggestions and likes to gather consensus when determining choices for movies, venues, event dates. She has always been great with leading the PHX group. The only thing I wish is that the membership fee would not be as expensive, esp some activities and events have additional costs. However, there are renewal specials. read more

The people and activities couldn't be better in this group. Since joining in August of 2015 I've been skydiving, whitewater rafting, camping, on pub crawls, party buses, the symphony. They have awesome trips to places like Vegas and Spain. I was afraid that being a singles club there might be creepers but there aren't! I've made some great friends, men and women - we've gone on trips and we hang out outside of the group too. If you are thinking about joining but you're not sure. Just do it! I'm so glad that I did. I went through the interview process & of course got invited to join, I bet they do not deny anyone. The sales person inadvertently sent me an email that was meant for her colleague basically insulting me on various levels (age, mental and physical level). I kept the email as proof should I ever need it. It made me upset that this kind of business would scam people and insult them behind their back. I had signed up for the 2 yr program and then after having the proof of being insulted I quickly requested a refund which they did provide. After speaking to the owner, he told me he could not doing anything to rectify the emotional distress caused other than to let me try a visit. I thought, wow so generous right, when they easily charge you 2.6K+ or more per person. I took that money elsewhere since the incident. So good luck to those of you consider the above program, unless you don't care that all they want is your money while they insult you behind your back. I see some negative reviews on here about cost, and it being a waste of time. Honestly, there will ALWAYS be people who feel like something was a waste of their time. So take it with a grain of salt and decide for yourself. A few things about this company... They tell you the full cost up front before you decide, so if you can't afford it then don't do it. They don't promise you anything when it comes to having options only you enjoy, but they are always asking for ideas from their members to help accommodate those specifics and keep things interesting. And they have LOTS of options when it comes to free, high quality, morning, night, local, international, you name it. They also don't push you into anything. They provide you with information and answer all of your questions honestly. Why join E&A? Because they show you what your town has to offer, they make it hassle free when planning something for the evening because they do it for you. This is also an opportunity to get out and meet new people without relying on going to the bar or just dating apps. And these are real life people so of course you won't love everyone, but you'll still make some great friends and possibly find someone to spend the rest of your life with. read more

I joined for a 6 month period in February 2019. Staff misrepresent the services expected. They ask questions, then use your answers to lie about their service. When I told staff that I must be around respectful people with good values, they assured me that Events & Adventures has an environment similar to what I described. The company boasts a private, "elite" group of people. I attended ONE event, which alone proved a completely opposite situation. Given the extremely inappropriate behavior--yelling, profanity, sexual references and gestures, and overall foolishness--I was not comfortable attending more events. Then I read reviews such as on Yelp and the BBB, to find that "SCAM" is the word. I reported the inappropriate behavior to Events & Adventures, and it was met with the most unprofessional and unaccountable mentality I have ever encountered. They collected information, on a first phone call, on what happened at the event for their own internal purposes. Firstly, I had told the slick salesman when I signed up that I was raised with good values and wanted to be around like-minded people. They assured I would--LIE!!! Secondly, they have done nothing but insist that I keep going to events--after I told them repeatedly that I am uncomfortable being in situations that likely would include the same behavior. The events are open to all members, and the Company approves these people for membership. A separate phone call was made TO ME to collect information on what happened at the one event. The staff person told me that he would talk to "corporate" about it to see what type of solution could be formed. When he did not follow up with me for more than a week, I tried following up, asking to speak to him. My name and cell were taken down for a return phone call, and then within minutes I received an email from a third individual, rudely telling me that no refund was to be expected and that an events manager was notified to possibly help me go to MORE events--AGAIN!! A little later that same day, the president, Mark Owen, emailed me and rattled off a list of accusations about my behavior--that I was slandering the company, harassing staff, and so on. So if you follow up with someone who originally reached out to you about a legit complaint, E&A terms it harassment. Just like their sales pitch......misrepresentation of the facts. And let's add "refusal to do anything, but count the bank roll". So the president of Events & Adventures uses a psychological mind game of inaccurate finger pointing to turn the table on a legit complaint I have made--to somehow bully me to back off on my complaint?? You want to bully me, Mark Owen? Come at me, Bro!!! Come at me!!! After the way I have been treated by your scamming company misrepresenting and stealing my money, I am not backing down when representing the TRUTH about your unethical company. And if you want to come at ME with slander, how about you sue everyone else that left legit complaints on Yelp and other sites for YEARS....YEARS....citing inappropriate and unethical actions by your company. I have emails proving the company's attempt to do nothing! Then you try to flip the script and falsely accuse me! When I say repeatedly that I do not want to be in situations where inappropriate behavior is aplenty, your company tells me that I have no choice but to tolerate it. I went to ONE event. Had I been allowed to prove, by attending one event before paying, that your staff misrepresented the events and people involved, then I could have made an ACCURATE, INFORMED decision to avoid indecent, inappropriate behavior. But instead, your company misrepresents and a 3-day cancellation contract then equates to SCAM. There aren't events "every day", so a member can not pay for services, attend to a first event and find out the TRUTH, and still have time to cancel. OUTRIGHT SCAM!!! read more

If you already signed up and feel you've been scammed search "Arizona Attorney General consumer complaint". File a complaint! There's also a lawsuit pending in California over the way EandA charges dues during the COVID pandemic. The contract has a 3 day cancellation but if you attend an event you can no longer cancel. Basically they have so little confidence in their product that once you try it they know you will want to cancel. Of the free events many are at restaurants or other venues where you typically have to spend money. While they offer events almost every day the events are scattered all over the valley and beyond. It really adds a lot of cost onto the already high membership and initiation fees. There are some fun events but you can find similar events and activities on MeetUp for just a fraction of the cost. Like others have mentioned the age range wasn't what I was led to believe. Some of the women I met there were already in relationships and were just attending to socialize. If you live in the East Valley, this is not the group for you. I was told there are events in Mesa/gilbert frequently, and there has been 1 event in Mesa since November. The majority of the events are in Scottsdale or Phoenix. The staff rushed me when I was signing paperwork, and didn't go over the cancellation policy at all (which sucks by the way). They charge you WAY too much (around $2000) to be a member and then charge you for each event as well. It's a complete scam and I do not recommend joining Events and Adventures. read more

I joined Events and Adventures in May of 2018. Suddenly finding myself single again in my 40s, I was at a loss with what to do with myself. Most of my friends lived out of state, and I had spent the last 20 years concentrating on work and children. I had lived in Phoenix for over 20 years, but knew almost nothing of what to do for fun. So, I joined Events and Adventures. It's been perfect for me. Someone else plans all the events, but takes my suggestions seriously and has done a lot to accommodate my ideas. There is something going on everyday, and I pick the events that I am available for, or very interested in doing, but wouldn't do by myself. I've made a ton of friends, and have invitations and a social circle that invite me out all the time beyond the planned events. For me, it's been great to be able to make other adult friends, find people with common interests, and go to events that I have never heard about or even would have ever thought about attending. A combination of going out, playing sports, attending festivals, concerts, art shows, parties...I haven't has so much fun since my fraternity days in college. The members are diverse, kind, accepting and fun. And, if you are a single adult looking for more to do, and want to expand your social circle, E&A is an amazing group to be a part of! read more
