We checked out Longshadow back in November of 2011 for our wedding a year later. Longshadow is a beautiful venue, of course, but what absolutely sold us on the place, was Samantha. She was so sweet and SO WELCOMING! We never felt like we were being hussled. Coordinators at other venues can be so pushy and "salesy" which is such a turn off, but Samantha was nothing like that. She was so genuine, we had to get married where she was! For the entire year of planning, Samantha was there for me! No matter what I needed, she would try and help me as best she could. Any questions were answered, and phone calls or texts answered or returned right away. Heck, I even called her when I was freaking out about guests of horror, and she calmed me down! My own future hubby couldn't even do that! I really could not have survived the year of planning without her. As it got closer to the wedding, Samantha heard from me much more, and NEVER made me feel like I was bugging her. She helped me with vendors, gave me some great ideas (we served pies at our wedding thanks to her ingenious idea!) and let me bounce my own ideas off of her. She was not only a wedding coordinator, but a great friend! The day of the wedding, she was SUPERWOMAN! I do not know how she did it, but she managed to coordinate all of my vendors, bridal party, family, and STILL I felt like she was always next to me, asking how she could help me. She did so many little things for me, that I can never list all of them, but I will never forget! I could not have lived through my day without her. She made me wear a bib while drinking red wine before the ceremony (thank goodness because I ended up needing it,) made sure my photographer got all the shots I wanted, made sure all my songs were played, MADE SURE I ATE (huge help,) took me outside for a breather if I needed it, calmed down unruly guests, and ultimately made me feel like someone had my back that day! They contacted all our other vendors (who we had booked beforehand) & helped us find more within our budget to make our vision for our big day come to life. They communicated with us regularly & helped us come up with an expedited task list to accommodate our schedules & keep us on track. We felt we were prepared for the day with a timeline broken down to the minute; we were going to be able to let go & enjoy our day. Come the day of our wedding. We were hopeful things would go perfect but of course nothing ever goes as planned. But our wedding planners were able to pivot. They helped with setting up tables & decor, gathering our wedding party & guests, adjusting our schedule when one of our vendors didn't show up & had another vendor step in, & they stepped in when our other vendor who was supposed to provide specified services didn't (these vendors that didn't live up to our expectations were booked prior to us booking our wedding planners & therefore weren't vetted by them, so that may have been the issue - couples, learn from our mistakes!!). They handled every issue behind the scenes with grace, keeping us informed without ever causing unnecessary stress. They truly became our eyes & ears, allowing us to relax & actually enjoy our wedding. Looking back, we honestly don't know what we would've done without them. If we'd tried to handle everything on our own, the day would have been a logistical nightmare. Instead, it was a beautiful, joy-filled experience that we'll remember forever. After the wedding, we had a debriefing session where we learned how our caterer had really dropped the ball & Kisha & Brandi continued to have support us, advocating on our behalf, in disputing for our reimbursement from this caterer.
