Organization is my jam. Releasing control...not so much. Type A, Enneagram 3, ESTJ, Virgos, where you at? So, when it came to finding the right coordinator, I knew that it'd take a special trusting relationship for me to comfortably relinquish the details of our day to someone who would execute every single detail to perfection and boy, did she ever!!! I can honestly say that I felt so at ease and had so much fun throughout this entire wedding planning process because of Rachel! We chatted with a hand full of coordinators and choosing Rachel and Tres Chic Affairs was a no-brainer. I fell in love with the attention to detail and design and style of the different weddings I had seen they'd done and just had a gut feeling when I talked to her that she was someone I could trust and that I'd get along with. Throughout the planning process, with each vendor we booked, they all knew of Rachel and reaffirmed what good hands we were in. Although we chose the month of coordination package, we were immediately set up with Aisle Planner- a website used to track and organize all thing weddings. It was such a helpful tool and came with an extensive checklist and sections to upload vendor information and details about our big day. While Rachel was so incredibly responsive throughout the entire process, answering questions we had along the way, she fully jumped in a few months before our wedding to lead us to the finish line! I can't say enough about Nicole's work as our wedding coordinator--she was absolutely phenomenal! A friend recommended her, saying she was a must-have, and Nicole more than lived up to the hype. From the moment we started working together, she never slowed down and matched my energy every step of the way. I'm someone who operates at a million miles an hour, and Nicole kept up with every detail and last-minute change. She's beyond organized, doesn't miss a beat, and truly makes things happen. Just three hours before the ceremony, I called her wanting to rearrange tables and add two guests. Without missing a step, Nicole told me, "If the venue can do it, I'll make it happen," and five minutes later, she called back to confirm it was done. Even my makeup artist (who's very experienced and well-known) was shocked and said, "You have a great wedding coordinator! Those types of calls usually don't have a result like that." The best decision we made during the wedding planning process was deciding to work with Tres Chic Affairs. We interviewed a few wedding planners, but from our first phone call with Molly (founder/creative director), we knew she was the planner for us. We could immediately tell that Molly was talented, knowledgable, experienced, and organized-- all traits that held true throughout the planning process. Molly also has the most amazing, calming demeanor: she put me at ease from the beginning, which is hard to do given my tendency to stress way too much! We had about a year and a half to plan our wedding, and we communicated frequently with Molly and Rachel (event designer), who answered all of our questions and then some. They set us up with incredible software to manage every vendor outreach, contract, payment, etc., an invaluable tool when you're trying to coordinate a thousand things at once. We got married at a venue that requires all outside vendors, and I know that Molly and Rachel's relationships ensured we got to work with the best of the best: so many of our vendors told us that they never say no to working with Tres Chic. The best compliment! As a bride, I was what I imagine to be a *special* kind of client: I was both too busy with work to stay on top of all the decision-making, but also too Type A to surrender control to anyone else to make the decision. I'm truly unsure of where or how to begin when thinking of the wedding journey and experience I had working with Molly and Rachel at Très Chic Affairs. The first thing I can say is signing our contract with Très Chic Affairs was the easiest and best decision we made to start our wedding planning process. From our initial phone call and also from the fact I knew 4+ other brides that have worked with Très Chic Affairs, I knew we were in terrific hands. On that initial phone call, I quickly felt that I could let my guard down through the 'stressful wedding planning process' because I immediately felt that I could trust both Molly / Rachel's expertise when it came to just about every single detail... and I really mean EVERY SINGLE detail :). I leaned heavily on the two of them to help with the many different vendor selections for us to work with and honestly, trusted their opinions throughout the process. It was very clear to me upfront that Molly and Rachel are actual experts in the planning process -- Molly kicked things off for us by scheduling and attending tours at multiple venues with my husband and I until we found our perfect venue @ Scripps Forum in La Jolla. At first, I was a bit nervous to have the blank canvas that we did with the venue but very quickly learned how fun and exciting the process of picking out all the pieces / details for the venue would be. Molly and Rachel supported me through not only the big details but also the small details of the process -- Both my husband and I have attended many weddings for our families or friends over the years, however, we had ZERO idea or clue of HOW MUCH goes into the process of actually planning a wedding. There is so much back and forth that goes into the partnership with vendors and once a vendor has been selected, staying on track of key dates, payment info and making sure all the details are truly perfect before the big wedding day. I was honestly at ease knowing I had Rachel and Molly leading charge on the coordination plus details with every single one of the incredible vendors we worked with that made our wedding day what it was. Budget is a very important factor when wedding planning and was definitely something that came up during our planning process as I have expensive taste and unfortunately didn't have an unlimited budget, ha! Molly and Rachel kept me on track with our budget by finding other/cheaper options for ALL the items/things I wanted to incorporate on our wedding day.  Our wedding took place in December and I had a few slightly crazy and different ideas of the vibe I wanted to go for, which is/was not your normal wedding vibe. The vibe I wanted to go for was a dark, moody, sexy aesthetic and I can assure you that on our actual wedding day, seeing the details of everything come to life brought me to TEARS.. Seriously, tears. I had not only high hopes but also high expectations for how the day would actually turn out and because of Molly and Rachel's attention to details, great relationships with vendors and their overall passion for wedding planning, our wedding day and overall vibe of our wedding was more than I could have EVER dreamt of.  Rachel and Molly went above and beyond throughout our planning process in so many different moments -- They were both available whenever I needed something and were always quick to respond if I had a question about something. Hey San Diego, we have a top-notch organized, talented, well-connected events manager right here in our beautiful hometown. I couldn't have had a better coordinator than Rachel. I cannot believe how my wedding turned out! Everyone was saying how beautiful it was; how everything just flowed so smoothly. It was so so beautiful!! I was so worried planning the wedding; as I had to travel all over the world of our oceans in pursuit of climate change research, and my now wife being in Japan to finalize her work duties over there. Rachel is absolutely INCREDIBLE!! To say she went above and beyond would be a massive understatement. She took us, an overworked medical resident, and a guy without an eye for design, under her wing shortly before the wedding and helped make our wedding day literally perfect. Rachel is organized, smart, fun, kind, incredibly hard working, and dedicated. We had so many challenges along the way and with Rachel's help we overcame all of them. For example - the bride was completely unavailable the month before the wedding due to her schedule. Also, the venue's dedicated planner mixed up our ceremony start time 2 weeks before the wedding. Very rarely in life do you feel, wow, I got way more value than I paid for! Hiring Tres chic affairs was the best decision I ever made, well second to choosing my husband. I was debating whether I needed a wedding planner or coordinator knowing I had already booked my venue, which included a wedding day of coordinator. I started to get very overwhelmed at how difficult it was to source small things like a lounge for the wedding. And being a bit of a perfectionist; all of my time was gobbled up in trying to be an expert in the wedding industry before I made a choice on vendor or design. It was overwhelming! I hired our florist - Hannah from Modern Bouquet (also amazing) and heard from her to check out Tres Chic Affairs, she mentioned Molly by name and described her and I just felt I had to meet her. After one phone call I knew I had to have her help me. Prior to hiring Molly I wasn't very excited about the wedding planning process, every vendor and the venue made me feel like I had to make all of these bland decisions and I was one in a million to all of their other brides. Nothing felt special or personal so I leaned on doing the bare minimum/ factory feeling standard wedding. There will never be enough kind words to say about Molly and Rachel-but I am going to try! From my first phone call with Molly, I knew she was someone I wanted to work with. She is one of the nicest people in the world and so easy to talk to! She helped me with literally anything and everything I ever needed. From 2 postponements (and one intimate ceremony) she and Rachel took all my stress away and always made sure I was feeling good about the planning process. A little bit of background: 3-day event (rehearsal dinner, wedding day, and brunch) in a small rural town in North County San Diego on a family property, and with originally 150 guests from all across the world. "Originally" because I am a COVID bride, so bring on the added madness, but that meant that the planning had to be done twice and adjusted a million times up until days before the events. I'm going to try and stay focused here because I could write a novel of praise and appreciation for the Très Chic Affairs team and its fearless leader Molly Stark. #1 COMMUNICATION If you are looking for an event planner who will be by your side every step of the way, Très Chic Affairs is THE company to work with. After reaching out, Molly replied immediately to schedule a call. It felt like a truly mutual fit test. She asked the right questions, she reassured me about the adventure ahead, and she was straight up with me! Once we decided to move forward, it was such a smooth onboarding - Molly and her team made me feel like I was their only client (and let me tell you I was not) and that for almost 3 years between that first call and the event. Oh and also, I was based on the East Coast all that time, so we met in person twice before the event! The Très Chic Affairs team was always there for me - every text, portal message, question, worry, moment of panic, brainstorming session, or just pure venting - was ALWAYS met with a professional, calm, and funny ear. #2 PARTNERS LIST The Très Chic Affairs address book contains the most incredible professionals in the industry! From the catering company, the florist, the hair/makeup artist, to the band, photographer, videographer, stationary and odd request vendors like a specialty drinks cart or an espresso bar - Molly will find the vendors that will make your event the most perfect it could ever be. I had such a unique set of factors; to highlight 3: 1) my guest count kept getting smaller and smaller because of COVID and particularly because of international travel restrictions, 2) my guests had such a wide variety of tastes - we had Europeans, Middle Easterns, Pacific Islanders, Americans, and many more - all with specific dietary restrictions and particular expectations of what weddings should provide, and 3) the venue was pretty remote so transportation was tricky, we need valet, and security was a must. All vendors did their absolutely BEST to deliver on all fronts and I had full confidence in their ability, because I knew Molly and her team vetted them. #3 SUPPORT It's odd but I feel like I barely saw Molly and her team during the events but I just knew they were working so hard behind the scenes delivering on my dream day! And it was the little attentions that made a huge different. Nicole was such a huge support that day, checking in on me all afternoon while I was getting ready - she was my eyes and ears into what was happening during the set-up time, which brought me so much reassurance I didn't even know I needed. Rachel was by my side before I went down the aisle and it was only afterwards that I realized that she was instrumental in distracting me and calming me down by talking to me about trips and asking for travel recommendations around the world! Then of course Molly was right there after the ceremony at the other end of the aisle waiting for me with my signature drink in hand! I am now months past the wedding and Molly is still only a text away and still makes me feel like her #1 priority. Très Chic Affairs, THANK YOU for everything. I'll start off by saying that I am not a wedding/bridal girlie. I am, however, someone who knows what they want and rather do it themselves to make sure it gets done right. This made the wedding planning process stressful and overwhelming--until Rachel and the team at Tres Chic Affairs came along. We chose the partial planning package because we wanted someone who could help with the details leading up to the big day. Tres Chic Affairs uses a really neat tool called Aisle Planner that keeps wedding details, contracts, and payment schedules in one place, which immediately helped us feel less stressed. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, people kept asking how I was feeling, and I was genuinely very calm because Rachel had been with me every step of the way, constantly communicating and making sure everything was on-track. From connecting me with the perfect vendors to making sure the day ran flawlessly, Rachel was a total expert and all of our guests noticed. Our ceremony and reception ran perfectly, and she problem-solved on the spot when there were hiccups that would have stressed me out (like our flower pillars falling over or our buffet setup needing to change locations at the last minute). But I didn't notice any of that! Where do I even being....from my very first call with Molly I knew that she was the wedding planner I wanted to work with. Our personalities really just clicked and she told me that day of she wanted me to be completely relaxed with a drink in my hand and having the best day ever. She took the time to truly get to know my husband and me and at the end of our wedding planning process it truly felt like we were old friends. I can be a little indecisive and in my head about details and things but every time I'd send Molly and Rachel a 911 I'm panicking about this or that details they'd immediately respond reminding me about all the amazing details we had planned out and how amazing it was going to be. We had such a wonderful experience working with Nicole from Tres Chic Affairs. From our very first call, she asked us several questions to understand our planning style and helped match us with one of their packages. From then on, she provided us with all of the resources we needed and made sure to check in with us regularly to keep us on track. As a side note, we also really appreciated Tres Chic's online organization system. We had access to checklists, vendor recommendations, and could store notes, contacts, and invoices all in one place, while also using it to communicate with our coordinator. Where Nicole really shines is her knowledge of the industry, especially when we had questions about working with our vendors. Because she's so experienced in the planning process, she was able to not only give us sound advice when we were unsure of a situation, but she also went to bat for us when we felt like we weren't getting answers or support from our vendors. She was early to every meeting we had, and was always immaculately organized (the detail put into our day of timeline was something to behold), not to mention she's just a wonderful person to be around. On the day of, Nicole made sure to check in constantly to make sure we had everything we needed. She even helped secure my veil in place, helped safety pin my dress into place when the back button popped off, and helped bustle my train when my bridesmaids were struggling. Wow, what a power couple - Molly & Rachel were the ABSOLUTE best!! We went with the full planning, and hired Tres Chic Affairs about 9 months out from our wedding date. My mom (she's an interior designer) and I were really looking forward to the blank canvas our venue provided for us to plan a magical, dreamy, garden wedding of my dreams. We got started planning together shortly after my engagement and realized the wedding world is 100% it's own beast, and we had no idea what we should be looking for when finding and vetting our vendors!! I talked to Molly one Saturday morning (likely a pre-wedding day for her). She answered all my questions with grace, and gave me a short term game plan of where we should focus our energy next. She immediately made me feel better, and I knew within 15 minutes she was someone that knew her sh*t! I signed the contract shortly after; my mom and I were so grateful we made that decision! From there, Rachel joined the team, and the three of us seriously had so much fun sending voice messages, GIFs, and low downs back and forth (at least weekly) leading up to the big day. I truly miss them!! They were very responsive, and I knew they always had my wedding and next steps top of mind. They took the stress out of the planning process, and were so fun to work with along the way :) They kept us on track to make sure the big vendors were booked far in advance, and didn't leave any of the final details overlooked! Down to the hand foil pressed name cards (Rachel, you crafting guru) with foil in different formations to indicate to the servers the guest's meal selections; they knew all the inside secrets to pull off the most perfect day. We worked together to design and build a light tent, which turned out so uniquely beautiful. In addition to the twinkly light structure, focal points were strung with greenery and rented rattan lanterns. They knew all the vendors to involve to make this vision come to life! The structure looked beautiful as day turned to night and all our guests LOVED it - said they had never seen something like it! With the tent came some drama from a disgruntled same weekend bride.. BUT Molly and Rachel shared what they needed to and always kept it light avoiding anything that might upset me. We instead laughed off the situation while creating something beautiful together. Our wedding day of was the peak of an abnormally hot heat wave, a coastal max of 80 degrees turned into 96 overnight. They kept me protected from the heat pre-photos to keep my HMU on fleek, and immediately after the ceremony had our drinks of choice and one of every app waiting for us. They kept the day running smoothly, and I didn't have to think about anything outside of enjoying my husband and my guests!! I knew they had everything covered and I appreciated that comfort and confidence so much. Rachel was AMAZING! We booked Très Chic Affairs for the month of package, but Rachel reached out as soon as we booked and set us up on Aisle Planner (such a great organizational tool). It was loaded with vendor recommendations, tips, a checklist, layout software, and honestly anything you would need to help plan a wedding. She was extremely responsive along the way as we had questions about anything and everything. A few months before the wedding she made herself available to meet with us in person and we clicked immediately.
