Judy and Carol helped to plan my first daughter's wedding on 8/20/2011. I interviewed several wedding planners and went with them because I liked that there were two of them. My daughter and now son-in-law also interviewed them and we all agreed that they were the best. I'll be honest, at first I was a little worried. Not because of anything they were or weren't doing, but because I'm a control freak Plus type A personality and wanted my daughter's wedding day to be perfect. So, I ended up stepping on toes and trying to do things on my own when I should have listened to the wedding planners and sat back and relaxed. Judy and Carol convinced me however that they had EVERYTHING under control and I did become convinced that they did. Nearing the last month and the two weeks before the wedding is when so many of the final details are wrapped up and they are on top of it. So, if you hire them, don't worry, they have it under control. The day of the wedding when we arrived, Carol and Judy were just finishing up the set-up and it was GORGEOUS!!! Also, we had a bit of a fiasco with a hotel that we had lined up and the shuttle service. Judy made many calls on our behalf and we ended up going to a different hotel and hiring a Royal Coach Bus for 57 passengers to take our guests from the Sheraton in Pleasanton to the Crooked Vine Winery in Livermore. This worked out perfectly and made the evening so enjoyable for everyone because they didn't have to worry about driving. I will say that when my next daughter gets married, I will definitely be hiring Carol and Judy again! Going into a wedding, you think you only have to hire people but there are so many details, many that you don't even think about. I loved all their vendors and will be writing separate reviews on that. Their floral person did an awesome job!!!! On the wedding day they stayed until the very end and had all the gifts and everything loaded into our vehicle already. This was so nice because my husband and I could spend time with our guests instead of running around making sure everything was going right. Carol helped me every step of the way to plan my wedding. We were on a short time table (6/7 months) with tons to do as my soon to be husband was in Afghanistan, and a tight budget! My husband David and I were married at The Harvest Inn in July 2013. I truly can not give enough positive praise to Carol and Judy who absolutely made our dream wedding a reality. Both David and I juggle busy careers and live in New York City - and if that's not enough - we planned our wedding in less than 3 months from across the country! After a lot of thought and consideration, my family and I give Events To Impress (Judy and Carol) one star. We were totally dissatisfied with their services. We first met with Carol at a Pleasanton Hotel for an interview to hire. We thought she was polite and knew the business well. We were not financially ready to pay the down payment for a number of months (this was roughly 8 months before the wedding). We told Carol we would get back to her with signed contract in a few months. She agreed. A few months later we were able to sign the contract and pay the down payment on her services. For at least one month after Carol had cashed the check, we did not hear from her at all. We had to contact her first (6 months until the wedding). I set up an appointment to meet with Carol and confirmed via email. My husband and I waited for her to meet as at our house. 20 minutes, then 30 minutes passed. This seemed odd since we had confirmed only a couple days ago. 45 minutes had passed and they were significantly late. I ran to look at my phone and had many missed calls from Carol. I thought maybe she was in some kind of trouble. I quickly called her back. She seemed agitated and irritated on the phone which drove me to irritation. She wanted me to confirm with her 15 minutes before our meeting that we were actually meeting.... I have never in my life heard of this etiquette before. I had confirmed with her twice a few days ahead of time that we were meeting at my house at a certain time. She accused me of getting upset. I didn't understand why she needed a third confirmation 15 minutes before the meeting otherwise she wasn't showing up. A total of 75 minutes later Carol and her sister Judy showed up to our house for the meeting. I remained calm although their behavior was totally unprofessional. We provided them with information about our venues and the details we wanted. They were responsive and open to discussion. Later they followed us to the reception venue where we discussed wedding decor and ideas. Besides them wasting 75 minutes of our time, the meeting went pretty well. They promised to "hook us up" with great vendors in the area to get the ball rolling. A week later my mother and I received an email from Judy letting us know that Carol will no longer be working with us and that Judy will take over from here.... We were appalled because Carol is the one we first talked to and liked. We did not understand why the sudden switch. Judy told us that Carol would be "out of town on vacation" the weekend of my wedding. Carol had told us she was happy to work with us directly and was open on our wedding weekend. This threw us for a loop. Not only were we no longer working with the coordinator that we hired, we also did know her sister Judy and felt lied to. They weren't being completely honest with us from day one. Judy indeed took over and set us up with appointments with vendors in our area. We went to her bakery of choice, her florist, her caterer and even her makeup artist. We did not select any of her vendors. They were overpriced and were not the "top-notch" vendors that her sister had promised. We were disappointed with each one. The wedding cake bakery was not even able to help us because of the type of decoration we wanted. The caterers were very expensive and overpriced. The florist was far out in Tracy and did not do that great of job (it was a personal friend of hers). The makeup artist was the worst. She had not received any kind of formal training. With vendors she was unable to help us. We found all of our own vendors- people we knew, and recommendations. All of her vendors were a total waste of our time and money. My mother and I did not trust Judy. There were so many scheduling mishaps. Some of them were indeed my mother's fault but Judy never asked for calcification. Throughout the 6-2 month mark before the wedding, we felt Judy was of no help. All of her ideas and advice were overly priced. It felt like she really did not care about getting us the best deals (as promised by Carol during the first meeting). She was not out to help us stay within budget. All of her vendors were not in our budget for what we wanted. Just promised to help my mother with the next day's brunch for our out-of-town guests but never did. Judy wanted to hire people to help us instead of helping herself. A month before the wedding my father met her and said she was a nice person. We had figured everything out ourselves by then. My parents specifically gave her tasks to do the day of the wedding and she failed to complete them. Judy only did what she thought she should be doing and disregarded any of our wishes. Father remarked after the wedding about her poor attitude to help. For example: We asked Judy to drive around and put up signs we had purchased ($350 worth) around the ceremony and reception locations. After the wedding we found the signs buried under piles of decorations afterward. We have so many more examples! read more

Even planner Judy worked with my husband and I at Windmill Ridge winery to plan our wedding. From the start she was very patient and listened. My husband and I had very different styles and she accommodated us both. She was willing to meet in the evenings and as often I would like. She was always quick to respond via text, email or phone call to answer questions and offer ideas without being the least put off. My husband and I were married at the Harvest Inn on April 6th. It was the quintessential Napa location when you think of wine country weddings; Judy & Carol of Events to Impress were the perfect people to hire for the occasion. They know the venue inside and out; they made recommendations that were absolutely perfect, even when we thought they weren't going to be. They steered us towards the correct vendors to choose and I was able to contribute my personal input and touches without feeling undervalued, clueless, or taken advantage of as I am very detail oriented but sometimes have a hard time making a decision; they provided great leadership in this regard. They helped us with a potentially big problem regarding the vineyards that were dug up directly behind the hotel in the backdrop of our wedding location and worked with the Harvest Inn to find a solution that actually made things even better then originally planned. On the day of the wedding they put my mind completely at ease and ran the whole show to perfection and right on time which made things extremely easy for me as I was able to relax and just enjoy my wedding day. Even though we had a small wedding of only 34 people, my husband and I had no idea the amount of work it took to coordinate everything as we would have been lost without Judy's input the final 30-45 days before the wedding. I can't say enough good things about Judy and Carol; they were professional in every regard, easy and understanding to work with, and had fantastic and warm personalities on top of everything. I met Carol in September 2015 through a mutual friend. She had me at hello and I love her from the moment we met. What a generous soul she is!! After only meeting me for about 10 minutes, she agreed to help me with my foundation's 1st Masquerade Gala. She didn't even know me, but agreed to plan and coordinate all of our gala activities moving forward, including the countless vendors we had to work with.
