I liked the Chicken Xacutti, but am unaccustomed to dark meat. Very creamy, flavorful sauce. Parking is challenging in winter.

The lamb Vindaloo we ordered was very spicy and it was wonderfully complemented by the Shahi Paneer's creamy neutral goodness (contains cashews).

My first impression once inside was there were no customers and no one to greet me. The buffet featured in photographs and reviews on Yelp was empty. The restaurant environment was cozy, as soft music played. Finally a young gentleman seated me with the menu. I inquired about the buffet and he said they had to stop the buffet due to food waste. He brought me chilled water with no ice (not my request) and I placed my order of lamb vindaloo, vegetable biryani, and plain naan bread. I asked to keep the menu for a dessert choice after my meal. Sadly, I did not take pictures of my food in the restaurant, but the food was very tasty. I requested spicy versions and both entrees were on point. When I arrived, a few minutes after 2 pm I was aware the restaurant closed at 3 pm. By the time I finished my first plate of lamb and biryani, the young man asked if I wished to choose my dessert now because they close at 3 pm. I had 16 minutes until closing. I reluctantly declined dessert because I was sensing they wanted me to leave. I took one more plate of food and he brought me my check and I requested a to go box for 3/4ths for my biryani and all but a half piece of naan bread. I finished my plate and transferred my food to the to go box. The young man left and there was about 8 minutes to closing. An older man emerged and spoke out loud from across the restaurant. I thought surely this person isn't talking to me from across the room. I continued to my bill and signed off and then the same man came closer and said are you finished? We are closed. I complained that he was rushing me and he reiterated that they close at 3 pm. I replied I arrived minutes after 2 pm and there were no patrons here. I waited patiently for my food to be prepared and I was reminded twice that the restaurant closes at 3pm. I asked him did he feel his actions were rude and if he felt any responsibility to the welfare of his customer to finish their meal peacefully? After all, I didn't walk in 30 minutes before closing, nor were they busy. I was their only customer for approximately an hour. He replied no we close at 3 pm and I need to get home and then come back later. There was no concern for me as a customer! The food was good and seasoned as requested. Customer service was disappointing and was rude. The older employee felt no responsibility or remorse for his actions. It is clear to me why there were no customers in the restaurant.

We were looking for a great Indian Cuisine Restaurant in the Rochester NY area, and after a bit of…read moresearching, we came across MUGHAL'S TAJMAHAL Authentic Indian Cuisine. They are at this time only about five months in business, but the quality of their food should make them a place you need to seek out. Open 7 (!) days a week, they are located in a former donut shop. The tables and seats remind one of a 1950s soda shop, but it is quite clean, and the staff are super friendly and helpful, with Waseem greeting us and seeing us to our table. The menu is quite extensive, offering not only Indian food, but also Pakistani, Arabic, South Indian Fusion, and Indo-Chinese Fusion. We started with a Mango Lassi each, which was refreshing and a tasty drink of mango and yogurt. As an appetizer, we split a Vegetable Samosa order. Two good sized Samosas with very fresh ingredients and nice chutney dipping sauces. Then the main meal arrived, with one of us getting a Chicken Vindaloo (spicy hot, a tangy tomato-based vinegar curry), and a mild Chicken Palak Curry (which is chicken in a spinach curry) along with an order of Garlic Naan bread, consisting of four delicious pieces. Make sure you alert them to the level of spice that you enjoy. Everything tasted very fresh and oh so flavorful. We had some leftovers which we took home for lunch the following day. We had decided to dine in but it seems a majority of their business is pick-up / delivery. Either way, I feel you will be very pleased with your meals. We will definitely be going back and sampling more of their menu. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

On my most recent visit, during lunch time with friends, we all had the all-you-can-eat buffet, which is a great value at $13.99 (current price). The woman serving us was very generous with the portions and also made sure we had plenty of injera bread to eat with it (though there is also rice on the buffet if you prefer.) Although I don't know the names of any of the things I ate, there were mild and spicy options, several kinds of lentils, a kind of pureed chickpea dish, sauteed/braised greens and two kinds of mixed veggies - one with carrots and one with cabbage. Although the buffet is all-you-can-eat, we were all stuffed and just managed to eat what we were served. A few side notes: -- Hours here on Yelp say they open at 11 am which is incorrect. They open at 12 pm each day of the week. -- There is street parking and in this section of the city, it is still free! -- Seating in the front room inside can accommodate approx 20 people. On the day we visited, we were a group of 4, and several singles came in, and two other groups of 4, and the place was packed -- There are also several meat options on the buffet; if you want the meat the buffet price increases by $1 -- Beverages are all in bottles - water, sodas, etc -- This place uses disposable paper plates and plastic cutlery -- Don't forget to ask about the samosas! They have a veggie one and a meat one, and though we forgot and were too full, they looked and smelled amazing!

This review is for the buffet thus I cannot attest to the a la carte options. Pro: unlimited chai. Con: somewhat small selection of menu for which the food was not particularly memorable, mostly oily. Service was otherwise ok. for those not exposed much to Nepali/Indian food, a good option to pique your tastebuds. For those experienced with Nepali-Indian, quite watered in flavor, too and too much sugar in their savory dishes. Chai: the only good thing amongst their dishes to be honest. Would rather spend my buffet money sitting here drinking this for 2 hours reading a book and just skip the meal. The butter chicken had too much sugar. This seems to be a trend across the US in American-Indian buffets catering to the American taste buds. This was disappointing but at least the sauce was fun to dip for your naan. Chick pea dish- a curry like dish with bell pepper undertows. Fried fish dish- think a fish fry with some veggies. Definitely a heavier dish. Fried rice- an ok dish as well. Would recommend Indian buffets towards Henrietta for better culinary experience

I got the Chicken 65 and my wife got the Chicken Tikka Masala. We also got an order of the Nepalese noodles with Chicken to share and some Aloo Paratha and Garlic Naan. Everything was fantastic! The menu is a good mix of Indian, Nepalese and Chinese style dishes. The waiter asked about our spice tolerance and everything was made to order to match what we liked for heat. The atmosphere was laid back and everyone was friendly. I think one of the folks working the floor was the owner, or maybe owners daughter and she was really nice. I'm looking forward to warming up some leftovers tomorrow and we will definitely go back.
