Chippy's Outdoor Waterpark, and "Jumping Pillow" in bottom left. (C) Devin Baeten Media 2018

The best family campground in Wisconsin! With all of its many kid-friendly amenities, Evergreen is the perfect place to camp with a family! There's a beach with many slides and inflatables on the water, a heated outdoor waterpark which includes a slide, splash pad, adult-only pool with food & beverage as well as 2 other pools. There is also a "Jumping Pillow" which is basically a giant pillow shaped inflatable. And there is even a mini-golf course and rentable pedal-carts and watercraft. They have many sites and cabins available and they book fast. Overall, it's the best campground I've ever been to and I think you will agree.

We're back for the second time! Just stayed from the 2-4th of August 2016. We made lots of use of the lake which was gorgeous and perfect to swim in for all ages. The inflatables were a big hit with the kids. The pool was also really nice this time around. Last year we came a little early in summer and it was still a little cold. This time was perfect. We love staying in the cabins. We stayed in 153 and the only complaint was that the water from the sink faucet was a drip, so rinsing dishes or your face was impossible. We really loved the upgrades of the mattresses. That was a big plus! Also they now have cable! and the wifi is a little better which is nice during those rainy days.

First time, but definitely not the last! Evergreen is a wonderful private campground in the middle of Wisconsin. We booked a Saturday-Tuesday at the end of September and decided to stay in a standard cabin. This type of cabin has electricity, heat/air conditioning, a fridge and microwave. No TV, but that's what we were getting away from! It was clean and well kept. Being it was the end of September, the heater came in handy. We were within a 30 second walk to the bathroom/showers, which were fantastic! They looked newly renovated and were VERY clean. The campground has multiple kid playsets, a couple pools(which again being the of September, they were too cold to use) and what I would describe as a massive bouncy house, minus the "house" portion. My 2 year old absolutely loved it! The only downside to booking on a Monday was that we were the only campers left after the weekend. We were a little bummed that there was no one around and not much happening. But we soon cheered up when a gentleman pulled up in a golf cart and said "You can use this on me for the rest of your stay". His name was Jim and I believe he was the manager/owner. He must have felt bad for us out there all alone! We were very touched by the hospitality of the place. It was wonderful! Thanks again to Jim. My daughter, and my wife and I, loved tooling around the campground on it. I highly recommend this place for a cabin stay, cottage on the lake, camper or even classic camping. See you soon!

It felt secluded with enough trees and undergrowth that we couldn't see our neighbors. There are pit toilets located throughout the park as well as plumbed toilets and showers in a central location. I exclusively used the plumbed toilets and found I never had to wait for one, which was nice. There is a camp store where we were able to pick up some memorabilia and they have a self-serve wood shed where you can purchase bundles of wood and bags of ice. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring, both of which we made use of during our stay. The park itself has lakes, creeks, and over 10 miles of trails. We stuck to campground walks on our most recent trip but have been there previously for day trips where we enjoyed a lovely walks. The campground is beautifully wooded (both deciduous and tamaracks) which is our favorite sort of camping atmosphere. The campground hosts were welcoming and spot on to ensure that all sites are clean and ready for their next guests. Everyone who worked there ensured our stay was as lovely as possible. Get to it!

How about crowds? Does the thought of trying to get away and having to deal with big crowds frustrating to you? Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls alike, I have the answer for you. Tons and tons of outdoor fun can be found right here at Hartman Creek State Park and the surrounding areas. It is not that far of a drive from the Chicago Area (about a 4.5 hour drive). If you go up here in the middle of the summer of course there are going to be a good number of people here. Fortunately it is not going to be as crowded as a Devil's Lake or Starved Rock, which automatically give it an A plus rating in my grade book!

Being an earshot away of any conversation your neighbors might have. I like my privacy. The cabins have all the luxurious of home minis running water. There is an AC unit, small fridge and even a microwave. A perfect way to throw some clothes and a some pillows into the car and go. This campground like many is geared toward families. There is a nice pool, games and climby things for all the littles. I was disappointed to learn that they planned to have a movie night. Isn't that the point to camp? To get these kids away from screens? I was sad that I had to listen to the booming speakers going through the camp for 2 hours so these kids could watch this movie. It was a complete distraction to the peace and quiet I was looking for. The prices of the cabins are kind of a lot at over $100 per night but they have 1 queen bed and a set of bunks. I would return but would prefer to come during the non peak time.

It was clean and spacious with great views of the lake. Some other spots were nowhere near as spacious, so it depends on what you are looking for and what type of camping equipment you are bringing (rv or tent). The clubhouse was very nice and clean, with great shower and bathroom facilities. The electric at our spots were 20 amp, so it caused us a bit of an issue running A/C, fridge and an electric griddle. It is my understanding that some of the sites have 30 amp service, but not ours. Prices were very reasonable.

This was also the trip where I was introduced to ticks lol. Even with long sleeves, pants, socks over pants, a jacket, and hat in the hot weather, we still got multiple mosquito bites on our face, hands, and through our clothes. Found about a dozen ticks on us underneath our clothes. Had fun though hiking, setting up our tent and campsite, kayaking for the first time, cooking meals, ears of corn, making smores, experiencing a rainstorm at night. Ty Dad for giving us the tarp to place underneath our tent, otherwise we would've been soaked lol. Also, we saw the cutest porcupine! The porcupine waddled and tried to climb a tree, but changed its mind. Friendly employees. Would like to return during non mosquito/tick season.

There's boat launches and kayaks launches in the park. It is also bear country so inform yourself on rules before staying!
