I got lucky. I can't recommend this law firm enough. When I first started contacting law firms to…read moredeal with my disability case, I chose to go with Schneider, Kerr & Robichaux (SKR) based on mundane things like returning phone calls in a timely manner and answering my myriad of questions patiently and informedly. You can "fight City Hall" and having come from a public service career I knew this to be true as long as we remember that we are the tortoise. This can be a long process (I filed my initial claim on 4/27/17 on my own and won my case on May 21, 2019) and you need patience constantly. The staff and attorneys gladly guided me through all the processes to get to the finish line. I asked to meet with staff in person more than once and they made appointments with me. As I got closer to my hearing date, gave me guidelines for getting letters from friends and former business partners to submit to the judge. My attorney, Geoff Keirnan, met with me and coached me on how to best answer questions. On hearing day, he prepped me again and the whole hearing took less than 30 minutes with me doing most of the talking. On July 8, I received my check for my back pay of 24 months from the US Treasury. What a mind blowing event that was. I would highly recommend them. All they do is disability law. There is always someone to talk to or they return phone calls promptly. I want to personally thank Brian P, Zack F, Bernardo, Charlie M, Kim S and Geoff Keirnan who all worked with me and on my case so that my win can only exist with them, not without them. Don't go this process entirely alone. File initially on your own and then start turning to an attorney for assistance. Know your history---work, medical, mental and social---and write it down. Talk to your health professionals about your condition. Call past providers to encourage their participation in the process. Ask friends and colleagues to write letters as you get further into the claim process. Update the law firm for any changes that occur that effect your health and your daily life.

I haven't worked in ten years.

We'd send her vital info and she would just ignore it half the time. Medical updates! She failed to get a report that was a very key piece of evidence for my daughter's case because she never read the email when we notified her of the upcoming procedure, months ago. Then she called and literally yelled at me like a maniac because she said she hadn't been notified about this procedure. I sent her a screenshot of the email where we did. Incompetence. But the yelling at clients is a deal breaker. I thought my daughter with ASD and lots of physical illnesses was exaggerating when she told me how bad Amanda talked to her - until this happened to me. Amanda was mad at herself for screwing up, that was obvious. So she chose to try to cast the blame elsewhere, and she threw a tantrum. I've read about similar treatment toward other people by her, on here, that goes back to 2020. Why does this person still have a job there? Her boss, Dr. Kathryn Heatherly made her send an apology email saying she was sorry if she "came off" as rude? and that it was "not her intention"? Seriously? (What does your rude with "intent" sound like?) It is so unprofessional of Dr. Heatherly, as well, to keep defending and overlooking Amanda's actions. This is a very dysfunctional legal team to stay away from. Find someone who treats you with respect. We'll be looking for that ourselves, starting again.

The bankruptcy process was long and arduous. Not a great deal of communication between us during to process. We started it in March and in July our paperwork was filed with the court. Okay so far, nothing really bad going on. Except, it was revealed to me that he himself was in bankruptcy for very much the same reason we were. That was until we had our initial hearing with the bankruptcy court. My debt was over the debt ceiling for the State of Oregon. Isn't this something that a bankruptcy attorney should know? Of course it is. After the hearing, our calls were not taken and only an email showed up. Need to research the problem. That is it. Meeting with him a week later, it was explained that he knew the debt ceiling and was hoping that the bankruptcy trustee would overlook the amount of debt I had since he slid another client through who exceeded the debt ceiling. My case was nothing but a gamble for him. He was rolling the dice with my financial future, my house and my life. I was then told after liens we placed on my house to come back and we could move forward. Fast forward. Contacted Chris. Provided a lien report for my home and. my current pay information. Weeks went by. Nothing. Followed up. Was told that he had not been able to get to it. Followed up again and this time, was kicked to the curb. Was told that he wouldn't be able to get to me for several weeks and that he was swamped with other work. I had hoped that after the massive fuck up with the filing of my case and the debit ceiling we ran into that our case might have gotten a little more attention. I now have a bankruptcy on my credit, having to. try to recover from the devastating credit advice, and still have issues with the IRS and liens on my house and no relief to show for it. DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY.

I would recommend anyone who is considering a Bk to see him, he will not pressure you and is very good at what he does. The level of attention he provides is also phenomenal. Very professional and honest. Sam managed the details of this case, gave me the opportunity to sit in on the defendant's deposition which was very enlightening. Then it was my turn for a deposition. Sam was much more prepared for this meeting than the defendant's team. Calm, respectful yet determined to get needed information from the defendant. He possesses good communication, analytical, people, listening, and negotiation skills. I learned it would have been a much easier case had I immediately sought care from a regular medical doctor (MD) in the beginning instead of just going to Chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage therapy. I didn't know any better. It was never suggested to me to get checked by a Medical Doctor until I spoke to Rizk Law. I am not sure if I would have had better relief from the pain and suffering I experienced by taking a different medical route. With more education on this matter, hindsight is 20/20. Bottom line and in the end, the defendant rear ended me and I received two favorable settlements: the first from the defendant's insurance, then from my own insurance. I definitely would recommend this Firm.

We were quoted 13K, which we agreed upon. That amount was surpassed greatly. It was evident that copy and paste was used for the majority of legal documents. The work was not done by a lawyer, but a legal assistant. There were spelling errors, delays, poor communication and failure to mail documents. On one invoice was a 30 minute charge to mail a letter. Maybe they walked to the mailbox??? The final straw was this letter. There is no more money in the estate. Fitzwater received over $20,000 for the guardianship and simple probate. They were paid from the estate. The conversation with Jonathon today involved him telling my husband that Oregon Law states that legal fees were to be paid before other creditors. My husband was NEVER informed of this law and paid outstanding medical bills with the little amount that was left in the estate. Jonathon also stated that "he talked with the partners about waiving the unpaid invoice and they declined". Unreal, the firm got over 20K for the "work" in the case. I was referred to this firm specifically to assume representation for both my workers' compensation…read moreclaim and my employment termination matter. The referral was presented as a coordinated transfer to a larger firm capable of handling overlapping injury and employment law issues. This was not a general inquiry, it was intended to be a formal case handoff. When I contacted the office, staff appeared unfamiliar with my case and unaware of any referral communication. I was treated as a new cold inquiry rather than a client whose matter was being transferred. There was no evidence that case materials had been reviewed or that any attorney-to-attorney coordination had occurred prior to my outreach. The intake interaction was rushed and dismissive, with no meaningful attempt to gather background details or establish continuity of representation. Given the complexity and seriousness of combined workers' compensation and termination matters, this lack of preparation and professionalism was concerning. Being terminated while actively managing a workplace injury places clients in a particularly vulnerable position. In that context, proper referral handling and internal communication are essential. My experience reflected a breakdown in both. I would strongly advise prospective clients to confirm in writing that referrals are formally accepted, files are transferred, and case reviews have occurred before relying on this firm for representation.
