I washed my laundry there, very clearly posted here online, and on the doors of the business. Closes at 11. I wash my clothes, and dry them. I'm in before 9 but one of the things I'm washing is my duvet. It's huge, and needs to dry for a while. So around 10:40 I return to get it, aware that it may be wet still, but prepared to suck it up and let it air dry because I know they're getting ready to close. I walk up to the door, it's locked. I'm looking at the sign, it says closes at 11. I call, I call, I call. Finally someone comes to the door and scolds...me? Because they're closed. And I at first am apologetic and mention that the hours are posted as 11, but that I just wanna grab my things and leave. She continues to scold me and asks if I'm dumb? She then continues that 11 is when she has to lock the door but she has to clean before that so they actually close earlier. I honestly don't care. Maybe I am dumb. She gets upset over the fact people are drying their clothes at 9:00 when the laundromat closes at 10:00, she likes to scold people and talk to them rudely. If you have questions you're better off figuring it out alone than asking her, I've also heard her on the phone talking shit about customers currently washing their clothes. Overall the laundromat is clean and the machines work well but the service isn't the best from that specific worker.

I came in, started my wash, and came back about thirty minutes later to move my clothes to the dryer. The warm welcome I got? An angry "Hey you! What are you doing here?" shouted across the room. Nothing like being treated like a criminal for doing laundry. Another employee saw what happened and tried to smooth it over by saying, "I'm so sorry, we just have people who come in here to mess up the bathroom." Oh great, that definitely makes being yelled at feel so much better. Apparently wearing a T-shirt and gym shorts is enough to raise suspicion now. Who knew laundromats had a dress code? Maybe next time I'll wear a tux so they know I'm here to wash clothes and not commit a crime. I have used the big laundromat on Fresh Pond Road but it's absolutely disgusting. Didn't see any reviews of this place and it's directly around the corner from me so I went to scope it out. The place is fairly tiny but there are washers and dryers plenty. An ATM machine. A bathroom. Plenty of carts. Everything seems new and clean. Just one person working there. Very friendly and eager to show you how everything works. What I love about this place is that it uses a card system. You really can't find any laundromat locally that don't use change. It's refreshing. The card machine is modern and great. You can pay with bills, cards or Google or Apple Pay. So convenient! You don't even have to insert the card at the machine. Just lie it on the surface and it scans it. So cool! They do wash and fold and dry cleaning which can come in handy. Two tiny tables to fold your laundry on. Two benches outside to sit and wait for your clothes to finish. The best part of this place? They have the lowest prices I've ever seen. $2.00 for a small load. Bigger machines are $3.00. The dryers cost 25 cents for every 7 minutes. Can't beat those prices. One downfall is that they don't have gentle cycle on their machines. Just regular. Please do yourself a favor and come do your laundry here. This place knocks all the other local places out of the park!

Saturday, May 16th, I brought in a…read moreBurberry trench coat to have the sleeves shortened slightly to address some minor fraying from normal wear. Just have the sleeves shortened so that the fraying no longer showed or would get worse. I paid $25 for the work, pretty reasonable. The tailoring work itself was done well, the sleeve was shortened and finished cleanly, so I want to be fair about that. My issue is with how the coat was handled and returned to me. When I picked it up, the coat was tightly stuffed into a thin plastic bag which was tied up, as shown in the attached photos. I was literally shocked when the woman handed it to me. She was not the alteration lady so I didn't want to subject her to my anger, but I did say "it couldn't be put on a hanger at least"? She was apologetic and offered to get a hanger but I live only a few blocks away so I didn't see the point. Plus I wanted to take pictures. As a result, the coat was heavily wrinkled from being compressed into the bag (see photos) for two days (my given pick up date was Saturday, May 23rd and I picked it up today Tuesday evening), and honestly it was disappointing to see a garment I cherish being treated in such a careless manner by people I PAID to take care of it. I attached pictures of how the coat was presented to me and how it looked when I took it out of the bag. While I value my clothing A LOT, I am very easy going. I didn't expect luxury presentation or even steaming or pressing. I actually steam my coats every time I wear them. But I also didn't expect to have it returned to me shoved into a plastic bag like a dish rag. Every other place I have had alterations done, they won't press or steam the item unless asked to (I totally understand that) but at the least they put it on a hanger, even if it's a wire one. Especially a suit jacket or coat. This shouldn't happen to a $20 thrift store coat, let alone a coat worth over $1,000 dollars. It's a tailored garment - now the labels are out of shape and it's unwearable without considerable steaming and pressing. You want a clean and quiet place to wash your clothes YOURSELF? By all means go here. If you need to entrust your clothes to staff to have them cleaned or altered, hard pass if my experience is anything to go by.

Maybe that's the reason I screwed up this first visit back to this place because I left an entire load of clothes behind in the dryer! The staff was nice enough to keep my clothes tucked away nice and neat until I realized two days later that I left them behind! This place has been clean pre-COVID and they've BEEN sanitizing the machines and folding tables in between customers before the pandemic. Many of these Bed-Stuy laundromats make me want to hand wash all of my clothes and never step foot in a laundromat because they are just way too unsanitary-- but not this place. Once you take your clothes out of the washer, they are sanitizing inside and out. No more strange smells after someone takes their supposedly clean load out and no more bringing my own sanitizing products to wipe down the washers before use. They take care of it for you! Floors stay mopped and clean so you don't feel so bad if you drop a panty or two. Other laundromats I will throw away any piece of clothing that falls to the ground but here, I'll kindly rewash them. That says a LOT. If you need any detergent, laundry bags (plastic or cloth), bleach, dryer sheets, fabric softener, etc., they've got a little convenient store and a vending machine inside to get all the stuff you need. I can't say the staff was always so welcoming but the owner is soooo much nicer now. Whatever change happened has truly warmed his soul and I feel more happy spending my coins here! Before this was the only laudry place to go to because I lived a couple steps away, now I gladly drive to this place because it's worth it. There's a change machine (all machines take coins) nice size options for washers and it doesn't take a crazy amount of detergent to get things soapy. A quarter gets you 7 minutes for the dryer. If you are a nice person who doesn't overstuff the dryer, 21 minutes is all you need to dry a load-- 75 cents ain't bad, huh? This isn't a large laundromat but if you go during non-peak times, you can get your washing done quick and easy and maybe catch a show on the big tv screen while you wait! My blanket came out stained with detergent residue and the guy who was running the place told me this small thin blanket was too much for the small washer. I was surprised because $4.00 could have washed the blanket and a sheet set at my old laundry. Then, i noticed how the workers treated the drop off laundry while the same guy was towering over each girl at every machine. First they dumped the clothes on the dirty floor to separate. Then most of the time alllll of the clothes went into one large wash machine. There was no care.No colors and darks were separated, so go here at your own risk. I wouldn't want my clothes dirty or not dumped on the floor and to go there the low prices aren't what they seem if washers are small as hell . And the manager was micro managing like hell.
