When we first moved in, we noticed that the tree looked like it had been sealed with some black tar and we worried about its health. We called West Michigan Tree Services to come take a look at it, and they gave us some advice and a care plan. They treated the tree and injected some fertilizer into the roots. They did some other work to it as well in order to give it the best possible outcome. I'd hate to lose this tree, so I'm willing to invest some money into its care. Each spring I receive a tree care contract via email that includes the cost of service for that year and what will be done. If you pre-pay before a certain date, you get a 10% discount, and the work is done that spring. We've been doing this for the past few years, and our tree is looking great! I'm so thankful for the certified arborists and staff for helping us care for our tree. They also provide tree removal and stump grinding, pruning, and land and lot clearing services.

Took them weeks to fix the cement pad they put in that was cracked. Severed our sprinkling main line and the electrical for the sprinkling, didn't tell anyone, and then BURIED it (see pics). Our sprinkler crew were the ones who found it. And then to finish everything off when they reseeded areas due to their equipment they planted weeds (see pics). I hired three laborers and it took them five hours to get the weeds out. By then I had paid the bill, so when I sent a picture of the weeds and asked if they stood behind this work I received no response. There were so many weeds now half of my yard is dirt areas from where the weeds were pulled. Stay away!!

They have their own crane truck which was essential and they know how to use it... literally swinging branches (that on their own were the size of a decent tree) down from the top and gently laying them down in the yard to be cut up and hauled away. A small, delicate Japanese maple was very close to the base of the 50"+ diameter trunk of the tree they took out and they didn't ruffle a leaf on the maple. Stump grinding and clean up the following day. Did this in early March so we need it warm up a bit first, but they'll be back to complete the clean up, spread some topsoil and grass seed in a month or so. Highly recommended!

After the wind storm we had called a tree service we had used before. He was too busy with the…read morestorm damage so he recommended us to call Able tree service. So we did. One of their men came out to look at the tree on our house. They said they could do the job but gave us no estimate. This maybe partly our fault because we were just grateful to get someone to come out after the storm because we knew other people were in need of tree services too. They came after 2days which was fine because the tree did not penetrate through our metal roof. Thank goodness for that. So the crane came but had to wait for the crew to show up . It did take almost all day to do the job. There was no bill that day. About a week later we received a bill of $30,000 plus for the work. It was One tree! My husband called because we thought it was a mistake. They said they could adjust it so now only$26,000 for the job. Our insurance gave us a check for all the work that was needed to be done other than the tree. We had to pay out of pocket a few thousand dollars to have the other things done. The tree company did not remove the tree or do a good job cleaning up. So if you use Able make sure you get in writing what they are going to do for you and the cost. I wish we knew more of what to do in this type of emergency.
