Regarding my brother's cremation. I paid $300 for a viewing and discovered that he still had medical accessories and bandages. I did this for his wife and daughter but it only brought back the trauma of him in the ICU for a week. When I asked Ashley about this her response was "you requested that he remain natural". What?, how are two IV's and a PICC line natural? We didn't want him dressed, only the sheet. Shame on you! read more

I am writing this review on behalf of my sisters and I. It has taken us awhile to come to terms with what happened and feel prepared to write this review. We had a deeply disappointing experience with Evergreen Memorial Gardens regarding our parents' arrangements. When our mother passed away in 2020, important details were missed and communication was extremely poor. Despite that, our father chose to continue with Evergreen because he and our mother had made pre-arrangements there. Before his unexpected passing last year, our father had decided to make changes to these arrangements. We contacted Evergreen so he could convey his wishes directly, but received no meaningful assistance. After his death--despite presenting a notarized document clearly stating his intentions--we were treated as though we were being dishonest. Evergreen's President, Lindsay Fisher, was largely unavailable, unsympathetic, and at times condescending. We ultimately had to hire an attorney, at significant expense, just to ensure our parents' wishes were honored. This caused unnecessary stress and heartache during an already painful time. Adding to the disappointment, staff attempted to sell us pre-arrangements for ourselves during a meeting just days after our father's passing--an insult considering the distress we endured. We deeply regret placing our trust in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. We encourage others to seek a provider that demonstrates genuine compassion, clear communication, and professionalism when families are most in need of care and respect. read more

I understand that maintaining the grave headstone is the family obligation. however what about the grass and surrounding area. what happened to the grass? my family has nothing but dirt and mug around their sites. this cemetery is not well maintained in the "full" areas. terrible!!! read more

I called today 11/30/23 to see if my mothers market had arrived ( she passed on 10/3/23 I was handed over to a young sounding man who did not sound confident on the phone . He apologized to me saying he dropped the ball on ordering the marker .. I had to call to check on the marker and I had someone telling me they had dropped the ball when I was told after she passes the marker was ordered and would be placed 4 weeks . This employee said to me that he would go out to the sight right away and send me over a form to sign and order the marker today .. it NEVER HAPPENED!! What kind of a place is this ? Yes a small thing such as a marker is closure for a grieving family !! Horrible thing to say and do to our family !! If there was a zero I'd give a zero !! Very disappointed!! read more

CONTENT WARNING: talk of parent death/grief/trauma in a frank way. My mother passed away in August of 2017 from a traumatizing disease called ALS. Before she died she had the foresight to pay for her cremation through Evergreen Memorial Services. I will say they provided the services without up-selling her (although she was quite forthright about what she wanted). However, since her passing I have recieved more than a few solicitation phone calls that come in the guise of something more important sounding. The first of these calls went something like this, "Hi Mrs.____, this is ______ from Evergreen Memorial. We have a non urgent matter to discuss if you could call us back at ------- extention---". This sounded kind of "official" to me so I *did* call back, only to get the "are your funeral services paid for" song and dance. I get it, you have to make a living but that particular way of luring a call back felt SHADY! The first time this happened I told them I'd call them if I intend to use them. They have left multiple phone messages since over the years using this same strategy! And I just got another one TODAY August 12, 2023! It's been 6 years and I can't escape them! Getting repeated phone calls from the funeral home that incinerated the body of your demised parent isn't exactly the kind of thing people are generally into (especially when the death was traumatizing). Well, guess what?! I'm gonna go through Earth Funeral and go through the human composting process so you'll never get your hands on my deceased body Evergreen muah-ha-ha-ha! I'd also like to note I recently attended the funeral of a loved one here and the microphone ran out of battery halfway through the service and the speaker couldn't be heard. I dunno whose job it was to ensure that was done but...it was really upsetting and distracting during what should have been a stress free event for that family. read more

My siblings and I are seriously considering digging our mom up and moving her elsewhere. Our mom passed 9/12/21 her services were on 9/27/22. The services itself were fine. The lady we originally have been working with Sarah Culp was great. In our culture, we spend the first year of our moms death mourning and wearing black the entire year. When it gets to a year of her passing we celebrate her life by throwing a big party, where we no longer have to wear black, we wear white and during that party we reveal her marker (head stone). I personally am the one who submitted photos to Sarah Prather (who I've been told no longer works there smh) everything was submitted and approved months prior to my moms 1 year mark. As it got closer to my moms 1 year, 1 week before my moms 1 year mark, I got an email from Sarah saying the company who makes it are behind production and now has a shipping date of November 9th. That's a whole 2 months after my moms 1 year mark. Whatever. It is what it is. So we delayed her party. November 12th, I called the funeral home to confirm it had been shipped. To my surprise Erin who is now taking over since Sarah is not there informs me that they have a new shipping date of January. Are you kidding me? January? Mind you, our families from all over the world have bought their plane tickets, paid hotels to be at a party next week expecting to reveal my moms marker. Erin tells me she would call me in 3 days with a status. It is now 5 days later, I've heard nothing. I call the funeral home AGAIN and another lady tells me that the production company is now sending a temporary marker that has the pictures and everything that I ordered but the shipping date is still January. This is ridiculous!!!! At this point, I want to move my mom. The unprofessionalism of this funeral home is absurd. This is already a hard time for our family in losing our mother but the multiple miscommunication, the numerous times I've had to reach out to this company, the many different answers I've gotten and the beating around the bush is completely unacceptable. I wish we never buried her there. read more

I wish I could give a better review as a large part of my large family are buried here. My current problem is upkeep. So many overgrown markers it's impossible to find loved ones. I don't know if they changed management in recent years but, it's no longer the beautiful place it once was. read more

My father passed on August 8th 2023. He was taken to evergreen memorial gardens to be cremated. Much to the distress of my family and especially my poor mother They did not obtain the death certificate for 2 weeks it then took them another two and a half weeks to get him cremated. My family had to personally get the death certificate signed and then they still took two and a half weeks to get him cremated we waited a month for his cremation this is not a reputable company we did not have a funeral there so they did not receive a lot of money from us so obviously we were on the bottom of the list Don't use them read more

We recently had need to use the services of Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. While death is never pleasant to deal with, the staff there were so kind, patient and compassionate it made the whole process easier. They were of course knowledgeable, as one would expect. They also knew that we would probably not be knowledgeable and be at a total loss as to what to do next. They were respectful of costs and services needed and optional. And, you may be in a position to choose a funeral home quickly without much time for research. I can assure you that you and your loved ones will be treated with deep respect, kindness and compassion at every step of the process at Evergreen. This has been a horrible week for me and my family, but Evergreen made sure that arrangements for the body of our loved one was the last thing we had to worry about. I also want to give a shout-out to the fact that this is a local family-owned business, which is increasingly rare in the funeral home industry. I had my brother placed at this place when he passed away 2009 but when I placed my mother next to him I was able to clearly see my brothers casket wasn't put into a cement vault that I paid for and for me to even see that my mother wasn't put in one as well . I have a plot on each side of them for later use so I'm looking into having it dug up on each side and prove what they didn't do that I paid for and that's a cement vault . Then I'm going after there neglect and fraud by court! Called today and was told I didn't see what I saw and I said I hire a person to X-ray the ground to prove my point but was told it was private property and I couldn't do that . Why would I pay for an attorney if I didn't see what I saw to prove it - her reply was they would do the Survey to prove to me , why would I believe them so I said ok as long as I can hire a guy to make sure it's accurate. I know what I saw and that's my brother in a dirt hole in no cement vault nor was my mom did I see a fault in the hole they dug up for her . She asked why it took me so long to complain, maybe because I was sick at the time and had to get my sisters cancer taken care of with so much on my plate I just didn't probably because it was to horrible to remember but I did tell my husband what I saw after we left the cemetery. She said I'd have to pay her attorney but in fact there will be a class action against them , if it happened to me it happened to others. I wouldn't be willing to pursue this if it wasn't true ! read more

Friend was looking for her mom in lobby and was offered a donut on table. Next to table was a dead midget on a tray. Traumatic for her.

After my dad passed away we went to meet with the director and square everything away. One of the last questions we asked was if they needed a photo of my dad for make up purposes. The lady there said they only use photos for woman to see how their makeup and hair were done and that it was not necessary. My mom brought up concerns about peoples different skin tones and how she wanted him to look good. She was assured that he would. On the day of the funeral and viewing Evergreen Staples Funeral Home showed up 30 minutes late. And then we were shocked to see that there was barely any makeup and just on one side of his face. My dad looked pale, his ears looked grey, and the area around his eyes were red. My mom was mortified and asked me to bring my makeup in. She had to put the makeup on my dad herself to make him look better. It was horrific! That should never have happened! The people from the funeral home apologized and blamed it on bad lighting. What a joke! After the funeral we cremated my dad. They told us it would be 7-10 days. My mom waited and waited and finally called on the 12th day and asked if he was ready to be picked up. They said yes, so we picked him up that morning and asked how long he had been there. He had been there for 8 days!!! They never called to say he was ready. My mom had to call and find out he had been there for over a week!! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! read more
