Paraphernalia found in the parking lot
    Leslie D.

I lived at this complex for two years, and my first year was pretty good! I moved from across the country and the staff was super helpful in making the process very smooth. They were understanding of my situation and helped me out a lot. They even made a special adjustment to my apartment for my for a certain consideration I had. Though the outside of the complex was a little rundown (fitting right in with its surroundings on Evergreen Way), the apartment itself was nice and clean. Unfortunately I was on the back side so my view was of a used car lot (that likes to do loud work like unloading cars late at night), but I didn't mind since everything else was nice. I liked that they did little resident events for holidays and otherwise, and I really felt like I could reach out to the staff with any problems and get the help I needed. Maintenance came within a reasonable amount of time too. Once I adopted a puppy, the Bark Park became an awesome feature! It was almost like having a yard. The community patio space was nice too, they put up string lights, had a fancy grill, it was just a nice place to hang out outside. Now... the second year. I think management must have changed, I definitely was seeing different staff. Things went downhill quickly. As another reviewer had mentioned, the place got much dirtier. There was almost always trash in the hallway, and you could count on seeing it for at least a week until someone bothered to pick it up. Once someone dumped a whole ashtray of cigarettes out next to my car and they were there for weeks until the rain washed them away completely. There's a pair of shoes outside the back door (the one that leads to the common area) that have been there for months, and I expect will still be there for a long time to come... Fun game, if you visit the property, check if those shoes are still there! Another weird form of dirtiness was the food that was all over the sidewalks along the back side. Walking a dog along this area was horrible because there was consistently some kind of food scattered across the walkways, usually bread but also sometimes chicken wings, french fries, sandwich bits, you name it. One time the bushes were "decorated" with soft shell tortillas. I hope you like the smell of pot because you're going to be smelling it almost constantly whenever you leave your apartment. I've also found needles in the parking lot and other very suspicious "paraphernalia". And yeah, like the other trash, you'll get used to seeing those things every day for a little while. It was "fun" keeping my dogs away from all the food, trash, and needles strewn about the property. Another small note about the property, good luck if it snows again, they don't make it a priority to plough the parking lot. Another complaint about the new management are the staff themselves. I used to always say hello to whoever was working in the office, they knew my name, my apartment number, and they were just overall very friendly to me. After the staff changes, I felt like they were annoyed to have to look up at me if I walked by. They were friendly enough I guess when you got talking to them, but the overall vibe was meh. The resident events slowed to a halt (to be fair to them, some of it has to do with Covid) and signs started to pop up like not to put incorrectly delivered mail on the windowsill or not being willing to hold packages at the office anymore. While not totally unreasonable, it somehow did come off as unfriendly. The string lights stopped working, the grill rarely had propane, the property has become dirtier, and again, the resident events ceased. It's the little things that add up to a general feeling of blah. And finally, moving out was the complete opposite of when I moved in. If they cared even a little, you'd never know it. When I gave notice I was leaving, the only thing I got was a list of stuff I better have cleaned if I wanted my deposit back. That was literally the only communication I received until I got what was left of my deposit about two months later. I wouldn't have even known what to do with my keys if I didn't reach out. I'm just glad to be done with the place. Apparently they felt the same about me. To conclude and summarize, this place was pretty decent when I first moved in and I would have likely stayed longer, but things went downhill in my second year and I knew I needed to get out of there. Positives? The apartment itself was spacious, the grass is cut regularly, location was fine, some people have cute cats in their windows.. uhh... Negatives, It's dirty inside and out, the staff don't really care about you anymore, security is eh, and more that I would say but I'm literally being cut off on characters.

It is a historic building with a little charm to it. However, too much to improve on. Starting with…read morethe smell of mold in my kitchen under the cabinet ( water heater unfortunately is in the kitchen) also my L shaped kitchen is so tiny I can only open the fridge 1/2 way which has been more of a nuisance than I anticipated. Also, there has been a lot of police activity coming in because of fights (broken window in one incident). Management changed 3 times in 6 months. Another big issue is not enough washers/dryers in shared laundry room. Only 2 washers and dryers to share with 22 units! You also have to pay to do your laundry. Most tenants are pleasant and I think the bad ones have moved on thankfully. A positive is the units have good storage with big closets. I believe the rent is way to high for what we get.

My daughter lived in these apartments for 6 months…read more Leases are only 6 months long. We all know what happens when leases re-new. Rent is raised (rent was increased and parking was going to be an additional $50 a month). Heritage Manor does not offer an auto-pay option so a check or money order needs to be mailed for the rent. Money orders, stamps and envelopes cost money and time. Get with the times Heritage Manor and set up auto-pay. My daughter lived in apartment 20 (650 sq. ft.) for $950 a month. I did like that all the apartments were enclosed. Great security feature for single women. My daughter's apartment came with one assigned free parking spot. Renter's insurance is mandatory. Heritage Manor offers zero amenities. On-site coin operated washer and dryers are available. Units do not offer a dishwasher or microwave. Heritage Manor is very old and the units show it. Heritage Manor returned the full $500 refundable security deposit within a timely manner. Overall, there are better apartments in Everett for the same price with full amenities.

So far we've been living here for about 5-6 months. We love our place! It's spacious, it's nice,…read moreand perfect for us. However the paint job is terrible, the kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinets are patched up in order to fix removed paint, the carpet wasn't new when we moved in, part of it was already torn, but that wasn't hard to deal with, whereas the guy at the office is very unprofessional. We had told him that we wanted to move to a closer assigned parking spot since it has been vacant since we moved in and nobody has parked in it, we have 2 children under 2 and walking a far distant from our apartment to the car in the rain and cold is a recipe for illness, anyways, we had asked him, he said he'll let us know. Little did we know we informed him of an empty spot, and the next day there was a car parked there. Its very unprofessional. The car parked didn't even have the parking permit with the spot number until 2 days after it's been parked there. We've been eyeing that parking spot for a long time and finally built the courage to request it from them and this is what we get? Shows how much they value their renters.

Absolutely disgusting. We are not sure where the fleas came from but we suspect that it was from that hallway. Not sure how the residents can live in this kind of environment but if you are looking to move in here, I would not recommend it.
