Many of my friends talked about how painful it was during their PT sessions. That is mostly what they complained about but after my own experiences I think they were feeling the so-called "burn" you feel from exercising muscles and body parts you normally don't use. My PT facility is in the Bronx on Waters Place. It's located in relatively new medical and educational complex. It's modern in appearance and clean. The facility is well equipped and very hygienic. The staff practices excellent Covid protocols which I've seen for myself. Everyone there is professional, polite, knowledgeable and skillful. They greet you when you come in and set you up immediately to begin your routine. The routine that was developed for me is based on my orthopedist prescription and the therapist knowledge of my condition. However as time goes by adjustments were made because of a concern I had and any improvement I made. My therapist checked on me as I went through my routine and this helped me to feel seen. That's important to me because it means for me that he is closely monitoring my progress. The therapists and the business manager are friendly and professional. They're good listeners as well because they listen to everyone's stories. They are empathetic and sympathetic. It's a very comfortable place but very professional too. The name is appropriate. You get a full evaluation on your first visit. They ask what your issues are as well as what kind of function you want to regain. Very comprehensive. My therapist was knowledgeable, competent and friendly. Being that they're located in the hospital complex, they follow full PPE protocols. Everything is neat and clean. My favorite thing is that they use the MedBridge Go app to assign exercises. You can follow along with the exercises with the animation. Very easy way to maintain the proper form. Anything that makes the process easier is welcome. Sadly Mount Sinai stopped taking my insurance so I haven't been able to continue. From recent news articles it seems to be more of a Mount Sinai problem than an insurer problem so I have to take off a star. Otherwise it would be perfect. I'm going to miss this place.
